I enjoy leveling because end game has been garbage in MMOs for years. I bloody hate dailies and gear treadmill. It won't change either because too many are used to play an MMO for 2-3 months and move on to next. Devs have become lazy because money comes in anyway and if not they just convert the game to F2P and milk players with cash shop.

For the first time in 10+ years I'm not looking forward to an MMO but an SPG (Rome 2: Total War). Will definitely play EQN but I keep my expectations low.

FFA PvP can work with the right community (early Ultima), but today's MMO community is much different than it was 16 years ago. I think the all or nothing crowd needs to realize that both drive away players and that the middle ground will always be better at keeping a lasting community.

Like with most things, moderation is important. Create an environment that supports all groups, whether its FFA PvP full-loot areas, safe areas, team(faction)-based warfare areas, arenas, and more.

I don't mind PvP done right. Still, my number one interest is good old Evercrack which wasn't a PvP game. As I said I don't mind PvP as long there won't be 2 artificial and locked factions or something. On August 2 many questions will be answered I hope.

EQ was bloody good until Planes of Power expansion imo. While some of those planes were quite fun and interesting  it made for me personally most of the previous content obsolete. Also, raids started to feel like a chore instead of dwagon bashing fun.

Over the last 10 years I've started to dislike quest driven MMOs, the worst example being probably SWTOR. EQ had so many different techniques (feign death pulling for example) you had first to learn and then to master that current button masher games are just plain simple. 

Btw, I'm no way hardcore or something, I'd just want to play an MMO again that lasts for longer than 2-3 months ie a typical theme park.

No one is debating TP vs SB. I just perfer an "open world" or "virtual world" or whatever you want to call it. Basically were combat and quests aren't the only meat and potatoes of the game.

ESO is not really a virtual world from the limited bits I've seen.

The more MMO a game gets the lass you can do just what you want. Like in TES games you could pick up and loot just about any object. How long would it take till the world is stripped clean and every item on tebles and shelves are in someone invantory or on the floor. It comes down to everyone elses imersion is as important as yours. Thats why even sandbox MMOs have permissions on everything. Do you have thr right to cop down this tree? Finding that balance is not something I would want on my head.

I would agree that would be hard to balence, and I would never expect that much depth in an MMO (at this point in time anyways). But sitting in a chair, or adding some small things to add some immersion, is not asking much. it is an RPG after all right? Pretty hard to RP without the tools to do so.

Im an old school PnP guy. I got into EQ1 to RP and was shocked when people would tell me off for doing so. Funny how mmo-rpgs have become more about combat then story and rpg and the story you do get is on tracks. 

Agreed and I'm from PnP and EQ myself and that's why I cannot understand why Zenimax hired former Daoc devs who are obsessed by 3 faction conflict. Actually, as I've said I don't mind RvRvR but I really hate this Daoc shite that is covering this TES game. I want TES not Daoc.

If it's out in 2 years, i feel sad for those invested in it.

MMO's don't get made in 2 years time, especially with a team of only a few people.

Cryptic can make an MMO in 2 years.
