Don't know about this cloning business but for me PoE is one great game. It has made an big contribution to restoring/maintaining my faith in the gaming business. Glad I spent the money to support it during the closed beta, probably will spend some more just to show my appreciation (after they fix the remaining crashes/disconnects;).

I normally loath f2p games. Normally.

Special mention for being able to turn off the noise^H^H^H^H^Hglobal chat.

The recent DS initiative in US finally makes sense. Too bad Bioware didn't get it approved. Oh well, will the last one leaving the game please turn off the servers, please?

I have been using Win8 since beta with no issues with any game (and no clear benefits for these games either).

i recommend Win8 at least for these reasons:

• Faster boot
• As time goes by, focus of driver developers moves more and more to Win8 over Win7 which is a big thing for gaming (even though the kernel driver frameworks and APIs are similar in Win8 and 7 at some point Win7 will be forced to the backseat)
• You're likely to get more and more apps for Win8 over Win7 as time goes by (if that's your thing)
• What OS you choose now should be the one that is better for you in 1-2 years unless you're happy to upgrade again at that time (which admittedly is made quite easy from 7 to 8 for most users)

$15 already is $5 due to inflation. Games should be free as in beer with a few steaming piles of f2p here and there to attract the flies;)

2-way connection between my brain and the interwebz? No way in hell. Well, unless by some magic the good guys in net/computer security suddenly got a lightyear ahead of the bad guys permanently (which won't ever happen). 

Now, a 1-way connection as in replacing the mouse, keyboard and whatnot controllers with a direct brain interface? Would definitely give it a try if it didn't cost too much or require surgery.

Unfortunately, I'll probably be dead of old age before such tech becomes commercially viable for the masses despite some individual working experiments recently.

      I had the same exact problem....I played about 10-12 hours and couldnt find anywhere to build or even start on....Maybe the game needs to mark land better or not allow so much to be deeded on?....Anyway I had the same issue and moved onto another game.

Last night I rerolled on Pristine and it's much emptier. Found a nice spot pretty easily. Comes with a spider and few other local monsters which keep settling down interesting:)

The problem is, in Exodus there is not a free spot of decent land anywhere and I do mean anywhere. Huge compounds and Playboy mansions (and more than a few decaying ruins) litter the land. So in case somebody else jumps into the game, make sure you pick a right world to begin your adventures in. I didn't really think this through and my adventures as a mad solitary survivalist in the middle of nowhere just won't happen it seems.

When you have a mob's loot window open you can convert the loot in it to coin from the small button in the lower right corner. To convert stuff from your inventory, put them into an open loot window and convert.

I think TSW is a game you need to try out yourself to see if you like it. My 2 cents is this

-  crafting is completely useless and boring so if this is your #1 thing you'll be disappointed

- the atmosphere (and in many cases the quests) are beyond anything I've experienced but this is very much a matter of taste

- no comments about the instances/raid as that's not my thing

Yesterday I spent 2 hours roaming the very first low level area with my pretty "high level" toon and I loved it!

I've played most of these recent (AA+)  games and while all of them only gave me the brief pleasure similar to what  I assume a one night stand would (how could I know, I'm a one woman guy for life) I can't disagree with the above.

On the other hand:

- my parents think that FB is complete crap (we didn't need it back then)

- my daughter thinks that FB is complete crap (isn't FB what you used back then)

What I maybe am trying to say is this: if you can afford to pay for anything with your own money your opinion is already irrelevant. Sadly I think is the case for many people rallying for old times. That said,  I'll be joining the luddites and trying out an older game this weekend hoping it'll be just like "back then". And I guess all "old" people  know how trying to re-live old times will work out:)

I like PS2 a lot but I'm old/slow enough that playing it like the FPS it is, is taxing and keeps me away from it more than I'd like. So my proposal is to implement a new tier into the game for old timers and such for supporting the young heroes battling in the frontlines with a slower pace gameplay as in collecting/providing resources for the war effort (yes, even engineer/medic is too much at times). Would deepen the metagame, too.

Alternatively/in addition running/captaining huge (slower) battleships would be great.

I can see why it bombed, even though i love the concept, the graphics, and the 3 factions....... just wasnt put together properly and lacked a lot of mmo features.
