I think ESO is in a pretty good place right now. In game sounds and looks lot different than the forums.

I expect the Xbox and PS4 versions to launch later this summer. Yeah ESO is in a good place.

After the 1st month, every AAA title had released their marketing spin numbers. With ESO, the only number we have seen is the number of registered beta users.

Registered beta users?

No, I think ESO is in trouble.

why put this here? are you that bitter over a video game? I do not get it especially from you , someone who generally doesnt get negative here. The game is fine, just because you do not like it doesnt mean its failing because they do not release some fake numbers like rift and the rest of the last 6 years of games. Its a themepark , most here want full loot pvp nonsense dig in the sand games but it has its place just like every other mmorpg out here does. So why focus on the negative for especially over something you do not know is fake or fiction?

Bitter? Maybe disappointed but for other reasons. But why question my motives.  I saw a comment  I didn't agree with, so I posted and included why I didn't agree. That's all there was to it

because youre generally not negative nor get involved in focusing on assumptions like sub numbers that 9 times out of 10 are fake and trumped anyways with like you said in your own comment beta signups or active accounts or registered users like every other game. Give the game time to either grow or dissolve why focus on the negative assumption of its dying? Especially when there is no hard data to either validate nor dispute your claims.

Multi-boxing is allowed in WoW and EVE. Botting isn't.

Botting in ESO works so well because of how they handled resource nodes and boss spawns. If they figure out a way to randomize these nodes or make a mini game out of gathering them, bots would be much less prevalent. If they made the little mini-bosses either difficult or made them drop no loot, botting would also be less prevalent. They just designed their systems up to this point to be a great place for botters.

WoW does not allow you to chain your characters together...it gets you banded.  If all follow and repeat the same action...all mages all cast firebolt the same moment together and you report they get banned in WoW.

Eve has mining bots that get banned...separate issues.

So far botting past level 14 has not been an issue for me.  Have not really seen it but once at around lvl 27 and it was a chain bot multiboxer running around a dungeon.  The teleporting guys I have not seen past the first zone.  On par I would not say my experience or negative experience from bots has been any worse than WoW or Eve.  Annoying, but hardly game breaking.

they are pretty heavy in auridon east march and the rift but not in the lore caves. You can see them pretty heavy in the farming areas running around. They are def bots in 3s usually and you can drag them around mob to mob which is fun to mess them up. But when one dies they warp around the map like crazy and instant res with no ghost its pretty funny to watch but that means there is a cheat program they are using other than just macro botting.

SWTOR is still fixing broken quests to this day . Warhammer Online was a buggy mess until the very end of its life. DAOC has darkness falls bugs that you fall through the floor still to this day. AO come on really? the reason that game pretty much failed and AOC also was because of the bugs. Shit happens you either cry about it or you move on but demanding some refund for playing a game for a month or longer is pushing into entitlement by far. Speak with your wallet is fine , cancel your account and wait til they fix everything if you truly like the game like you said. But do not ask for refunds when you obviously been playing the game for over a month. Thats just being sleezy and I know your better than that.

It's true, I enjoyed it when I could but more of it was spent attempting to bypass various quests along the way. Then after giving up on completing them I'd have to sit there and fill out bug reports. This isn't even including the other bugs I've experienced while playing the game. Falling through the world, invisible monsters and bosses, boss fights in dungeons are bugged, siege equipment not working, network i/o issues, memory leaks, infinite load screens, even their bug report I'm getting after quitting the game crashes. The very thing I'm using to fill out my issues/complaints are breaking.

After I hit VR1 I thought the fight was over. They said they fixed many of the bugs and the main story lines were not going to break anymore. So I pushed on with a positive mindset. For a little while it was good. I finished the first VR zone without any issues and I moved onto Stonehaven. This is when I was hit with the wall of broken quests again. I have to remind you even though I so I was back to spinning my wheels again at issues they've stated have been fixed.

Once I finished everything except for the few quests in Stonehaven I tried to quest in Bangkorai. Where I ran into even more quests that I couldn't complete. I finished all of that zone as much as I could as well however I cannot progress in the game due to the fact that the quests required by 'Cadwell's Almanac' are broken.

I'm am literally stuck with my quest log full of quests that I cannot progress in. Even from zones prior to becoming a Veteran. This product is broken, it doesn't work. I cannot get it to work. I have tried for many hours. Sure I enjoyed it when I could but at the end of the day it's still not a working product.

i know you like the game still and are just frustrated right now, it happens plus youve played a lot. By your post history here which i read a lot of threads just choose not to comment in them you are usually positive about the game , thats why im not bashing you for the frustration like others are. But you know you are going to want to play this after this subsides, you enjoyed the game and you liked it enough to get all the way past 50 almost to 60. So dont ask for a refund and throw away your hard work over stuff that is going to be fixed in probably less than a month because of frustration. No games are perfect you played AO and you know that. Right now as you can see in their posts on the forums everything is pretty much devoted to fighting these bots , so much so today they had to block private messaging due to bot spam messing up the systems. So frustration or not dont take the route of getting all pissed off demanding a refund and later on regretting it, as you do enjoy the game and are not just posting like some of the jerkoff twits here who just complain because they can and enjoy trolling every thread with ESO listed on it.

yep if this goes to live and stays i can easily see a ton of people quitting as it becomes guild wars 2 zerge vs zerge and boring as hell. People here in support of nerfing aoes to hit 6 targets obviously do not understand the word Area in AOE. Valid tactics in all games with realm vs realm style pvp should be defending keeps is easier than taking them and with less numbers. Now with this garbage guild wars 2 mentality people actually think zerging is the way to win instead of using tactics.

It works both ways also for people like panzer who cannot seem to grasp pvp skill. If you zerge you show no skill , it takes much more skill to setup a aoe door train with a group of a few players and actually win vs having 50 players storm a door spamming heals until the doors are down and then zerging in. Anytime a good group of people get together and work well as a team killing stupid sheep zergers, that majority voice whom just cannot seem to understand what play better means would rather come to boards and cry , hence why we get nerfs in the first place. AOE is far from broken and should be a tactic to repel a zerge with no skills and nitwits leading them.

We seen this in DAOC and Warhammer, bad players whom cannot think on their own crying nerf constantly because they lacked the skill to beat certain groups whom used vent and worked well together. Guild Wars 2 on the other hand , thats just another issue entirely that was probably the most unskilled garbage ive ever played calling itself a realm vs realm style pvp....

Please Zen do not nerf a tactic because zergers cannot learn to play and get better.

And the reason i put it on these forums is because when i tried to put one on the Elder scrolls forms where most people need the post to be, Zenimax immediately deleted the post.

Are you suggesting that people are so stupid that they don't know what refunds are?

*forgot to mention, my question is rhetorical

Zenimax have it in their TOA that customers rescind all their rights to a refund however in countries like mine (Aus) we are protected from such rubbish. I got mine thru this morning as well, took 5m to arrange with CS (email) and 3days to arrive in my account. There are several other countries that protect their citizens consumer rights also and I think his intent was to let ppl know it is possible to get a refund as opposed to explaining what a refund is.

if you really think this is protecting its citizens rights by asking for a refund on a game three weeks after playing it the entire time you need to go back to school. This law wasnt designed for people like you that can basically play something for free for a month, devour the content and then get all their money back. Regardless if you liked it or not if you play it for a week or two you deserve to pay the box fee regardless if you like it or not. Unless you had a technical issue preventing you from playing there is no excuse for this sort of thing. Bugs happen in all new games including old ones like DAOC and EQ its part of the technical time in software thats unavoidable.

More extremely important news as the story develops..

Umm no i don't know you. Are you famous or something?

I would trust a non-famous persons words more then a famous persons words in the world we live in today...   Just look at the last how many presidents, Hollywood stars, and social media people who got famous from acting like six year old adults.

Are you saying that since you are non famous i should trust your words  that ESO will have 10 million subs by end of the year?

Jesus... BigDaddy you should just give up... the ESO community is bleeding out people with sense and a expectation of quality fast so you trying to reign in whoever is left is pointless... it is only a matter of time before they start calling glitch falling through the world a feature of P2P games that the unwashed masses cannot sample like they do.

damn dude why dont you give it a rest instead you are in every single ESO thread since head start bashing the game. I do not understand why Mike hasnt banned you yet you contribute nothing to the conversation at all ever.

This law does not work in any European country except Norway,  buying this game in europe explicitly said no refunds according to law X...

And since you probably got over a hundred hours in gametime... no judge would say you did not get any value from the purchase because of some stupid Bug..

actually i had less then 40 hours worth of game time and i was vr5.  My bug was largely reported and was never fixed.  This happened to me for 2 weeks and showed no sign of being fixed.  I'm sorry but a game that doesn't allow you to move forwards in the story or in anyway what-so-ever is broken by definition.  As a consumer I used my rights to refund the game before I payed for the sub fee.

I feel bad for the europeans, but yeah i took in account the game time which I played and told pay pal that i would accept a refund of 50 dollars rather then 59.99 if they couldnt get a full refund, saying that those 9 dollars would be almost about the same as paying for a half months worth of play time.  They gave me the full refund anyways.  So yeah i took into account that the game is intrunsically a service when i made this decision, but either way I didnt want to continue to pay for a game that was clearly broken for me and wasnt being fixed for another month or 2.  Hell a youtuber, force-strategy gamer made a video about a similar bug not long ago that he him self was stuck in.  I was stuck in my bug for 2 weeks and he was raging about being stuck in his bug for less then 2-3 days.

and you could of continued to report the issue every day to stay on them. You were VR5 thats a ton of hours into a game that you felt isnt worth the box price but had no issues getting all the way to 50. If you liked the game past 10 regardless of a bug that will be fixed as you know in a patch probably soon you could of just protested and stopped your sub until its fixed. Thats money out of the developers pocket for a game you obviously liked all the way to 50 yet think because of a bug that is serious yes , that you deserve not to pay a dime for..... Seriously dude grow up man this is immature and you know it or anyone here rational will see it. Read the post from Matt Frior, those bugs were a priority but demanding your money back isnt going to help nor solve the problem any sooner. But I guess you do not care anyways you got all the way to 50 for free now....

I totally agree with you here and am american. Every single release you get these guys that get refunds after putting in over 100 hours and decide they hate the game and scream for a refund. I do not understand why these companies give them anything back. IMO these are bottom feeders the worst of the worst in video games nowadays. If you have technical issues in the first week or do not like the game by all means get a refund but posting this on the 24th which means the games account has probably been active since head start is pure ridiculous at best and I hope they IP ban the people doing this forever, because everyone knows six months from now when they are bored they will just rebuy it anyways.

yeah i seriously do not get the complaining here either. In games like Rift LOTR WOW etc all you get is ability bloat and even the devs have started trying to do away with that in the older games. People thinking this combat is simple compared to the old games are obviously not playing it. In all the old games all you do is stand there and get wacked on if you played melee and either out DPS mobs before they kill your health pools or you pop some heal off. At least in games like this, GW2, Tera, Neverwinter you can dodge most attacks or block them and combat is much more interactive. I enjoy ESO further with the ability to parry and riposte with all weapons instead of always dodging around the screen.

I do get it though my wife was like this at first also as she played wow for years and never any of the more action combat games. All she did was bitch and moan about she hated it and constantly nagged about how the combat was boring and horrible. Then she finally got the hang of it and stopped dying and now she loves it much more than the old tab target stuff. I think people that are not used to it need time to adjust and are probably just frustrated.

why do people seriously care what some internet nerd is saying about a game? When did it become Cool to watch overweight nerds playing a game ranting and raving instead of just playing it yourself? I guess I missed that memo.... I always thought youtube was for puppy and kitten videos....

Is this cyber bullying?

its all about how you carry yourself. If he wouldnt be pushing buttons with sarcastic comments he might get a much better response. I know I wasnt going to say anything until he threw in his last comment about everyone leaving in droves. But seriously what can you expect this site is not their official forums and some of the people commenting probably do not even play .

if you love the game so much dont troll their forums and get yourself banned its simple really. Customer service is swamped read the letter to the community so good luck trying to get your account open again. You probably were banned for 24 or 48 hours I highly doubt its a permanent ban. Either way coming to a mmo site not even watched by ESO devs and mods to complain about it all is only going to get you trolled much worse than your ban is. Especially admitting you deserved it then saying everyones leaving in droves when that is factually not even remotely true.
some of you guys are jaded beyond repair..... This guy outlined everything they have been and are working on. The guy runs the show there pretty much what he tells you is pretty much fact but yet some of you still cannot give the guy some credit.... I hate bots to especially the farming ones that make it impossible for us to boss loot from the lore dungeons but I take the guys word from it thats its going to be fixed soon because he says it is. Why do you guys seriously even play these games if you do not believe anything they say? Its a good game, fun but has some flaws and polish issues that every game has from the start. Then 6 months from now all those will be fixed and systems reworked like every other game at release goes through.

the only real solution for what the OP is asking for is to not allow experience gained from anything 5 or 6 levels below you but when entering a zone you delevel your stats and gear, thats really about as much as you can do in a game besides mentoring down like Rift and EQ2 has. The problem with all mmorpgs is devs are never going to fully understand and be smarter than players in their designs. So you are always going to have the lazy easiest and most bang for your buck type levelers and gold farmers , and then your achievement hounds and normal levelers. The farm trains in GW2 are just poor design choices made by a very lazy dev team. It sucks because everytime you implement features that are designed to to be fun and rewarding for most players you will always have those lazy players whom take advantage of the system and exploit it then come screaming on forums when it gets removed or nerfed for them exploiting a system.

guild wars 2 system was stupid at best and lead to tons of zones being empty and why they now have a merged mega server to begin with. If you deranked to come back and do skyshards and achievements using the guild wars 2 system like Aeonblades says also you would end up with just some stupid power level spots and farm spots with a ton of empty zones. Its already bad you cannot go to any lore dungeon in the game and even remotely come close to beat the bots for the boss loot in each one as they are camped so heavily by bots its ridiculous. Lets not turn this game into another power leveling guild wars 2 farm train that runs from troll to spiders to swamps over and over and over again...

I think some of you guys need to realize that every game released is not going to have the same level of quality on its official release as the next game or studio because every studio and company is made up of different people whom prioritize different things. When you guys learn to accept this you might actually take a much more mellow approach.

This game was no different than skyrim releasing. Some couldnt even play skyrim until community work arounds were released. It took a community patch to fix all the bugs, same with fallout new vegas. Bethesda was still patching 1.9 what a year later so that should tell you right there that releases are much more important and squashing bugs as they pop up is how they do business with Zen and Bethesda.

For myself while bugs and dupes are annoying I can tolerate it because I enjoy the rest of the game and have hopes that each week we will still get small patches to fix whats broken and also in may a large patch to improve the quality of life and add some content. If they stay on point with this than in my opinion they are no different than blizzard Trion or Arena Net. This is what will determine my long term plans of playing and I think ultimately their long term success.

Ill be playing this for awhile isnt another mmorpg out there that im even interested in anytime in the near future and this has the old school DAOC feel to it IMO, though the questing only option does suck in my book as sometimes id rather go out and pvp for progression or grind mobs. Options , I do hope they really address those but all in all I find the game to be a very good game which I enjoy playing.

I know I have been active for quite some time in here regarding ESO and have played since launch, but I just noticed how "hard" the actually game is.

I dont mind games being complicated - problem is it seems to be too time consuming for me.

I just had a discussion in my guild, I play a nightblade currently.

They are saying it is the hardest class to play (Pvp wise), one mistake, and you are already dead. Is this true?

I do not think its the hardest class to play , just build your class up to use its cc abilities.  Alot of nightblades seem to be runing these ranger like siphon builds that are fine for pve but cannot withstand burst dps in pvp. Also pvp is about burst dps and crowd control so build your character out there to kill as fast as possible or take advantage of crowd control and you should be fine. Or since you have a guild , that hopefully run together why not setup a premade group to run out there with to take advantage of all the classes and builds skills and weakensses.

Interesting how much the OP played considering he really didnt care much for the game lol. I mean how does one invest the time (without hacks) to reach lvl 50 vr6 lmao in 2 weeks all the while not really enjoying the game ????

Did this cross anyone else's mind ?? I mean its not like the OP is a paid journalist who reviews games for a living..... So would anyone invest all that time in something they really were not enjoying .... something doesnt smell right here....

One doesn't really need to care for a game to invest time in it. Not everyone gets emotionally attached to MMOS.

I have played several MMOS just because i had nothing better to do. In the end did i care? nope. But yeah i did pass my boring time.

And as usual you had nothing to say on the actual content of the review. All the fans are more interested in discussing Op than what he wrote.

you can also take what the OP says with a grain of salt and show some patience instead and be a bit more rational about it all. I think most people here agree with what the OP is saying but the guy literally rushed to end game on a brand new mmo  and now is bored. Somethings I agree with him on the bugs especially and the boring towns but I also know that they do not want to lose a bunch of players and will probably more sooner than later fix the glaring bugs. I think some people here just need to realize that not everyone has the same tolerance levels as other people and that goes for people hating and also white knighting the game. But lets be honest here to , some of the posters who hate on this game do so just to troll and start arguments here. So it does get tiresome after awhile to read through. This poster did a respectable opinion though which I think most can respect.
