I agree with everything ^above^. Though I usually don't play it much, anymore, it's a well-made game and GGG is well worth supporting. Considering that they're a very small team of devs, they've delivered one hell of a good game. I'll definitely be back to play any new content that they add.

MUCH agreed. If they can keep the majority of the hackers out, I wouldn't care if the zombies started taking shots at me with AS50's. Granted, ARMA II was created with running scripts, in mind, but it doesn't bode well for the average player. SA is supposed to be a HUGE departure from this setup, and I couldn't be happier.

Pretty much the same story for me. Though, tbh, it was a kick-ass 3 months before the "new wore off". Like some others have said, that's still a pretty good return on a $60 game. The PvE is kind of short and sweet and both the SPvP and WvW are really good, but they do get old, just like all other games. GW2 is still a great buy for the money, though.

These games always seem to have something that ruins them (invisible tanks, horrible flight model). I don't see how anyone could mess up ship combat, but if there is a way these guys will be the ones to find it and implement it.

The invisible tanks are a feature, go search for the guide that explains the spotting system

Yep, its working as intended.

Yes because you can spot a tank at say 310 meters in the open field but when that same tank moves to 311 meters in the open field your elite crew with 5 skills becomes a barracks full of basic trainees who all failed IET vision exams.

Don't worry...16 inch gold rounds and aimbots will provide an ample work-around for this.

Exactly this. Mesmer is going to be my third character, specifically because of the fabulous butterflies. I just wish that they were hot pink. Only a real man can kick ass while rocking hot pink butterflies.

Much agreed. This is as close to hot pink as I could get, but I did the best that only a real man could. This thread is giving me some truly sinister ideas for a Mesmer alt. If only I could roll a Charr with hot pink or lavender fur.....

To me though, these systems  although great for the game may have a diffrent effect on the community themselves. It feels like theres just a lack of communication!  sure i have 20 people playing on my screen with me, but i try to comment on something to them and i just get no responce back.  slowly I am feeling a disconnect with the community as a whole while playing.

 

Part of why i beleive this is happenong is silmply, its not nessiary to talk at all to play.  so people dontand it jsut ceates a  emty air. sure occationally people will talk but for a game like this it really would be nice to have banter going on. And i was on the Unofficial RP server. its  nigh impossible to take up a role and play it if no one says anything back to you.

I get where you're coming from, OP, but give it time, it may change. Once some of the newness wears off, people may be more apt to want to communicate.

I consider myself a devout GW2 fan, but the Kool-Aid hasn't been powerful enough to alter my expectations of what will most likely come to pass. Without a doubt (on my part), it's gonna be a lot of fun, it's gonna have glitches, and the WvW servers are gonna be slammed for awhile, but hey...it's all good. There may be log-in problems, there may be crashes, and even my whole guild may not get on the same server, but 'tis life. Cheers, OP, for keepin' it real and have fun!

I may be misinterpreting something, but it looks like players will still be forced to fight tanks that are up to 2 tiers higher than their own. Personally, I don't know about the medium to high tiers, but tiers 1-4 don't stand much of a chance vs. anything more than 1 tier above themselves. They stated "It is a work version of chart which may change after 7.5 public test upon statistics and your feedback.", but the changes they propose so far aren't good enough, at least to me. When they can have matches that contain no more than 2 tiers, then maybe I'll give them another chance.

I cant wait to see all GW2 haters cry ( including you) once GW2 becomes the biggest MMO on the market and destroys WoW and SWTOR.

I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one, but yeah, that would be hilarious if it came to pass.

Honestly, I'm sick of the embittered and jaded old guys who come to whine about how the gaming world has left them behind. I'm not saying those old MMO's weren't great (in fact, I'd like to see them make a comeback), just saying I'm sick of those who constantly cry like spoiled children and put down whatever games they view as overhyped.

This is only a guess, but I base it off people I know IRL. Each of the people I know IRL
