A GTA MMORPG has a ginormous money oppurtunity to enter the MMORPG market if they do it right, but just because GTA will make a junkload of money off of it. I personally think diable would do good, World of Diablo.

Hmm it depends on your level.
But i would definately farm some humanoids for some quick cash, i mean that is considering you cant sell any of your stuff.

Hey. I am just readin thourgh my Game Informer (august 05)magazine when on page 20 I see a Bad-Good
Ugly-Good comparison and on the Good side, 2nd comparison from the bottom it shows a WoW picture exact context is as follows:
"World of Warcraft's lead producer, Shane Dabiri, has said the company is working on an expansion pack to the wildly popular PC MMORPG. Adam's retreat from society continues."

Anyone know whats gonna be added?
Anyone know the general release date?
Anyone know whether I should come back to WoW before or after this is released?

Hey guys! Well I will get right to it. You see last year at the end of summer, I purchased PlanetSide and played it and I loved it! It brings back such great memories but when school began, I didn't play it anymore. I am having the idea to get back into PlanetSide but I heard rumors that the gameplay changed and it is horrible. I am still getting the idea to get back into PlanetSide but I would like to know your input also. Has the PlanetSide gameplay changed and etc? Thanks!
P.S. He said there were lots of changed in the game so it wasnt just the gameplay he complained about.

Even with the BFR's the game really hasn't changed much. It's still just as fun as always. BFR's aren't nearly as over powered as they once were. I don't play full time but I do enjoy hopping into PlanetSide from time to time just to kick a lil tail.

Exactly my answer. I wasnt much for the BFRs and the fact that they were like transformers that owned everything, but they were really toned down a lot (nerfed if you please). The caves are cool, Zip-lines are a lot of fun and I think that aspect is neat. The AT weapons are just sorta blah, they dont do much and nobody really has them. The vehicle or two added were neat, the Router and that huge tank that I forgot the name of unfortunately. I got Aftershock maybe a month or two or three ago and I dont regret it, it was fun. I just cant afford subscribing to SWG and PS at the same time! Anyways, go for it. Join an outfit called: The Regiment, a Vanu Soverignity Outfit on the Emeral server.

LOL
I find it hillarious that people bash SOE.
Name one game that SOE has produced that hasn't been profitable and successful.

They bought MxO to get the licence to the DC engine. I suspect they'll either let it die or monkey with it a bit. But I seriously doubt they have any real intention to do much with the game.

People bash them because they have had more than their fair share of bad(more likely VERY bad) experiences with SOE. I find it hillarious that you have to jump in and defend SOE everytime, just let people vent. Profit and success are exactly the reasons why we can't expect SOE to do any better than they have with their other games.

EDIT: WE as in those of us who don't expect SOE to do any better, so don't go all off on who WE is.

What Im getting from this is that you think SOE hasn't made any respectable games, I disagree. They have made EQ, EQ2, PS, SWG. All of those games have been fine, all of which I have subscribed to for atleast 1 month. I know that isn't enough time to fully evaluate whether the game is decent or not but thats not the point. All of those games have been "successful" in my opinion, lots of subscribers and players.

That is what successfulness is evaluated by, correct? I mean like ste2000 said. Britney Spears can be successful because she sold lots of CDs but the actual music is just horrible. I completely disagree with that, SOE has done a good job with all of their games, (all the big ones atleast) my only problem is that it takes too damn long for them to get back to me on a technical problem ticket. Again drifting form the point...

I don't find it hilarious that Elnator defends SOE, they are a respectable company and I expect them to do better and improve.

I agree with you ste2000. That is a great analogy for being "successful"

That sums it up for me. I know when i stopped playing WoW my time played was 7 days, so thats more than 100 hours. And there are a few other characters with something like 100 hours, and if D2 counts then that puts me close to 500 hours. I have wasted probably another 200 doing side stuff like SWG, PS, and other games I didnt really attach to but I just played for a week.

1) Well, the character customization isnt great but yeah it can set you apart form others. There are Face variants, hair style, hair color, and skin color and thats it I think. The only problem I have with it is it will give you a few good options but the others are just wierd, its like choosing dark pink from dark blue, which one is gonna be seen around more?

2) Grinding is so so. There are a few places that you can visit for your level, its not like you have to be in one area for your level, there are 2-3 places to go. Soloing all depends on your class and professions.

3) Yes, WoW has exactly that type of enviornment. Here is an example: Dwarves, Humans, and Elves all have their own starting point (Gnomes live with the dwarves) (Alliance races), So if say you want the Human attributes to your class or profession but just enjoy the enviornment of the Elven enviornment, with a little work you can go to the elven starting point and the same quests will be availible. The only exception are class specific quests, so if you are a human paladin and you go to elven lands, you wont be able to do your level 10 or 20 paladin quests because elves cant be paladins!

4) I dont play anymore but the last time I checked the equipment variety was only bad in the beginning, to level 10 or so. After that you can start going after different armor types with different attributes. Hell, I am the only level 40 paladin I know that has a huge shovel. But trust me, I can mow people down with it, its jut really funny to have people ask me "Is that a shovel!!! ::::37:: WTF??!?!?"

Anyways, hope you get it and enjoy your experience playing WoW!

The purpose of this post is to compile all of our experiences we had when we first played WoW, whether they were good, bad. Whether they lasted 1 month or 1 hour. Whether the subscription is still active, or it was cancelled a long time ago. Whats changed? Has it gone uphill or that steep slope downward? Who were some of your first friends? What was your first character? What server? What faction? What race? What class? What professions? WoW was a real treat when it first came out, I enjoyed it, so let me tell you about it.

I always liked being a buffer, whatever games I played. In DAoC I was a Kobold Shaman, all about buffing because I just liked helping people. *Subject is back on WoW* It didnt matter much to me, Id wait next to the Inn in Brill and just buff anyone that walked by, a TY, thx, thanks, thank you, anything was good, it made continuing worth it. ::::19:: But anyways, I was an Undead Priest. I was amused by the fact that you could be doing Gods Work in the form of a walking corpse. ::::02:: Im afraid I dont remember the server I was on, or any of my friends, just my experience. I remember seeing the big Abomination thing for the first time, and how we had to collect the roots and I would find one and this BIG thing would start running at me, and my first thought was "Oh crap." But when I saw him steal my root, I was pissed, believe me (it took me a long time just to find one of the roots) Anyways, when I finally finished that quest I remember wondering to The Undercity. It was great, the graphics of the city gave me shivers, such a new idea. I mean, I would call it cartoony, but look at RO, THATS cartoony. I dont know, the graphics were just really nice. I couldnt appreciate the sound because every time I booted up WoW my sound would be choppy for a while, and that would always annoy me...::::21::

So lets go back even furthur, November...Hmm, maybe the 23rd? Correct me if Im wrong. The Collectors Additions were sold but I knew that a tiny Zergling thing wasnt worth the extra money, so instead. I got the normal version and a strategy guide. I was so excited, I didnt use it much at first, just cruised through it to find what race and class I wanted. For those of you that are wondering, I got the box with the Night Elf on it :-)

So I install it and play the free month and the couple of days that we got free because they were having lots of server problems and had a lot of maintenance down-time and I got another month but didnt play the entire time, I just got bored of it and school was killer. 9th grade. (At a hard high school, Paxon. College Prep.)

So I return a while later, now when I made my first character, I got him to level 11 or 12 maybe when I got stuck at some mansion where I was supposed to kill a bunch of ghosts and made a few others, one of which was a Paladin on Gilneas named "Nathan". Now, I dont know when I made this character, but I know it was within the first month because I know a name like that would definately NOT stay available for very long. (You wouldnt believe the messages I have gotten from people about how I stole their name). So, back on subject. These characters would make it out of the starter town and thats it. When I logged back into Nathan a few months later, he was sitting at the Inn in Goldshire with this big shovel. Anyways, I made a few others like "Wolfbane" Dwarf Hunter also on Gilneas and brought him to maybe level 16 or 17 when I stopped playing. I liked everything, I dont know why I stopped playing, maybe it just didnt give me that spark.

It had nice graphics, no comment to sound. It had a very simple crafting system and a very simple questing system. The monsters were nice, from WC3. Community was good, I remember before I quit, my level 5 or 6 pally "Nathan" was crusing around the Stormwind Keep when he saw this level 35 or so fighting this librarian and this Defias Ninja dude, it was cool. I provided very small healing to him, and when he was done, he thanked me and invited me to his guild he was running. The guild was awsome, good members, organized, helped when a guildee needed it whether it be with some crafting materials or just getting a frusturating quest done, someone was there.

And then it happened after 2 or so months of release. I quit...
Didn't play any $-MMORPGs for a while, just stuck with Counter Strike and some free MMORPGs like PristonTale or Knight Online.

I decide to come back for giggles. I remember getting on Wolfbane (Level 16 dwarf hunter) and leveling him up a little bit, bored with engineering for him. Then I played Nathan again. I had time, I level him to 12 or 13 and asked to be re-invited to the guild I was previously in. The guy was still there and the guild was still great. So this time, I didnt stop. Every time I got on, I would select my Paladin. From Goldshire to Redridge to Darkshire and a few side areas where I would just go in and do a few quests for a week or two. Went on in to Stranglethorn Vale and did that, getting closer and closer to level 40, going back and forth from Booty Bay. Now in this process I got the dwarf hunter to 28-32. Then I get my mount on my Pally and thats it. It ended.

By the way, my subscription never ended, I just stopped playing. But its ended now, not sure if I want to come back for battlegrounds or not. Sorry for telling you my whole experience, just wanted to say the first month.

No flame war will start here, keep it short and to the point. Try to be friendly.

Thanks for reading!
-Nathan

P.S.-Sorry for any typos or any slang I might have used, I hate AIM lingo just as much as the next person.

Hey, I played about a year ago starting September on the Tempest server and I quit after a week cause I thought SWG was too complicated. So now I have returned and my awsome guild was still there and Im hooked to the game so I play a day or two and the mayor of the city that is shelter to my guild quit SWG, and that night the guild leader quit also, and the guild was disbanded. On that character I put my BARC from me purchasing TE before I came back to SWG and my other veteran rewards. So I find a nice person on the mmorpg.com forums that let me join his guild on Lowca so now i play there. My main point is, if there is anyone on the Tempest server that wants a BARC and/or 200k, and is willing to give me either a BARC or however much money the BARC is worth and/or 200k on the Lowca server. I know its not exactly a secure trade but I really need the money on Lowca, if anyone is intrested please send me a private message here. Or send me a /tell on my character "Rindel Lavenlr" on the Lowca server, its the same name on the Tempest server too but I wont be playing there. Im posting this in the Lowca and Tempest trade channels.

Thanks in advance.

I played September of last year and I was in a great guild and right now I am just wondering if it is still around, I am pretty sure it is on Tempest but possibly eclipse.

Its on Tatooine I think, the planet with all of the "Mos" towns.
I know the name of the town was Mos Rome and the mayor of the town was a ceasar something.

Very serious guild, the closest to RPing youll get without RPing, on second thought maybe it was an RP guild. Im just wondering if it would be around almost a year later, if any of you know anything or could just do me a small favor and look on Tatooine and see if Mos Rome is even still there? Again, I am pretty sure it is on Tempest but anyone on Eclipse to check if the town is there, that would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Southwest quadrant of the map Im almost sure. I always remember random things about something, but never anything important or beneficial in my case.

Ok I started a poll.
I dont care about the price, if I get an awsome item for getting TE then Ill go out and get it, but I wont get it until the weekend so I am more concerned about the wait time, I could order and DL RotW instantly and get JtL and get it all or I could wait til Saturday and go out and buy TE and get some item.

Give me your opinions

EDIT: I understand so correct me if I am wrong. If you go out and buy TE you get a BARC speeder that is awsome for $30. If you order RotW and get JtL and get it instantly you get some lizard that apprently sucks for $25.
So the debate is whether its worth the wait or not? I couldnt care less about the $5 more for TE.

Also, the bonus item. If you already have a character can you get the BARC speeder to a character that was made a very long time ago?
