Asians invented grinding. They must have. There's no other explanation.

Man I hate grinding.

So explain to me...WHY did you use three posts when you could shove all that nonsense in one reply? You want objectives in an MMORPG? Do quests. That's the only kind of objective the makers will give you. What's that? Want something bigger? Some huge ending to work towards to? Go play Final Fantasy. MMORPGs are meant to last longer so the companies can earn more out of them.

For the rest your posts make no freaking sense.

Out of context, that question would've been really weird. "Gee, do I want 9 dragons who will go on a rampage and eat and burn stuff, or do I want 2 moons who will end up crashing against eachother someday, killing us all? Decisions, decisions..." Kinda reminds me of the "1 bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush." saying.

As for the games...Hard to decide.

Funny, Blizzard has official forums yet it seems they got their heads buried in the ground.

Hah, wait. I remember Second Life. People earn craploads by being good at designing items, clothing etc. there. And it counts as an mmo.

Maple lacks decent crafting/professions, it lacks pvp, it lacks about everything a decent mmorpg has except grinding. Endless grinding. Grinding until the end of time.

Gunbound's funny. One mistake and people start complaining at you.

Compared to Maple's constant whining, I guess Gunbound wins.

Once met a guy using a hack on there, godmode hack. He was actually quite nice, he even helped me level. Then along came a 12 year old who was all "I report u my friend is GM". (Guy actually admitted he was 12, and described how his parents paid for a lot of stuff)

Ever experienced the horrible grind that MS requires? The exp rate on it just blows, and only people with either too much time or a grand focus can reach high levels. Those hacks are a blessing for the casual player.

For once I'd like to admit that MS is a kid's game. Because no matter how many mature players it has, the majority still has the mindset of a 10 year old who expects anyone to do their bidding.

As for you, Blue_Panda...I got Stalin's ghost on the phone here. He says you'd make an excellent communist.

I'm planning on getting a Wii. From what I've seen it's hilarious to swing that magic wand-controller around like a madman. Besides, I've always been a Nintendo ho. Second choice would be the XBox 360.

What do you think all those gold farming companies do? And those powerleveling services?

THE DREAM IS REAL.

A biological virus would be fun to be. I'd multiply like crazy on some warm tropical beach, relaxing while ruining the life of the locals. (Sounds like a tourist to me.)

Or the rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Edit: Waitwaitwait. Perfect choice. A MUPPET.

What's so wrong about this topic, your character must have a story, it must be more than a virtual character, it must be a hero.

I always create a story about my characters, this one is a small one, the whole story is much bigger...

-You make a good point, something I'd encourage in every mmo...

-If it wasn't for the fact that everyone not on a RP server would disagree with you. When you look at today's mmo advertising and compare it to ingame behavior...Heroes do not excist in virtual games. There's just people like the 'Carebear', the 'Ganker', the 'Korean Farming Bot', the infamous 'Casual Player' and 'Hardcore PvPer'. You know, you could make superheroes out of them with those names! Yay!

As for roleplaying...Go play Dungeons & Dragons (Not the online thing.) Round up some friends, sit around a table and actually be able to express emotions instead of 'lol' or 'omg'. (Not to mention D&D actually allows your character to be what you want it to be)

The only game that could prove a bit more interesting is Warhammer Online. For the rest it's all the same piece of shower drain slime mixed with bad advertising, fake promises and a touch of lemon.

Get yourself a Wii or a pair of Nintendo DSes with some WiFi games. Or take up Dungeons & Dragons. Heck, there's also LaRP (Live Action Roleplay).

In Norse Mythology, there was plenty of skilled female fighters. Shieldmaidens, female virgins who had choosed the way of a warrior. A popular one is Brynhilde, who was also a valkyrie. If you ever read Saxo Grammaticus(Legends about danish heroes, kings and gods - Written by saxo in the 11th century. A funny read, which isn't tough to get through at all), you'll read some great stories about shieldmaidens, and there is even a battle where over 300 shieldmaidens participate.
Greek mythology also have female warriors, including Amazons.
As paganistic mythologies are pretty much the base of all fantasy settings, it's a great place to look it up.
If we look at the Warhammer lore, you'll also notice that females does indeed fight. A dwarven female will fight side by side with the dwarven males, yet only a trained eye can spot the difference. The Empire also have a great deal of female fighters, including zealots, wizards, assasins.. Further north, Kislev got some dangerous female spellcasters.

Even our brave and fearless ancestors needed their chainmail-bikini-babe fix.

Wasn't the entire Warcraft universe based on other fantasy games/books/series?

Face it. Nothing is original anymore. If it's short and hairy, it's probably based on a dwarf. If it has long ears and acts like a snobby jerk, it's definitly based on an elf. The problem with fantasy is that it's been done so often it became bland and generic.

Now, WAR has the choice to play goblins. Usually not put as race-of-choice because they don't attract hormone-pumping teenagers. I'll take that as the only original point with pleasure.

If Oblivion would become an mmorpg it would probably be the perfect mmorpg.

But an mmorpg is never perfect.

Therefore, there can't be an Oblivion mmorpg.

That is so much sarcasm my spleen just broke. Ouch.

I know that I'd be freaking terrified of full-loot pvp. I already have trouble getting what I can get in games. Last thing I want is some guy with more time to play ganking me and robbing it. The rich'd get richer and the poor'd get poorer. Kinda like a primitive form of capitalism.

I'm sure there are people who get a kick out of it, a sort of 'Thrill of the hunt'. For them it's not fun when they killed something without a decent trophy to hang up on the wall. Quite reasonable reason, it almost makes me want to take up hunting (Mostly because I plainly stink at pvp on mmo's.)
