Am i the only one who always turns off music in games immediatly?
General Gaming « General Discussion 11/28/11 7:01:23 AM
Personally i hate music in games and turn it off straight away. I think it ruins the immersion, i mean lets face it if i was a soldier in real life, say in a real conflict, i wouldnt be listening to music while sneaking around corners in a hostile village. i be listening for the sneaky prick trying to sneak up and knife me in the back. Just wondering if anyone also hates music in games and turns it off, or am i alone in this one? |

Only reason i'm not buying this game.
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/28/11 6:52:37 AM
I believe the main reason they have chosen this graphic style is not mainly for looks but in fact its so they can make more money. They have copied blizzards method of having lower spec graphics (dare i say it... wow) so the game can run on a greater variety of diff pc / laptop systems, this allows a lot more people to play other than just the few lucky ones that can afford real high spec pc's like some of us lucky few. It makes sense from a marketing and subscriber point of view. |

The start of this post mentioned that the game is set 200yrs in the future from Oblivion.... yet the characters clothes, buildings and furniture still looks almost the same..... Not much progress for 200yrs in the future???? |

Personally i totally loved this game and was rather gutted when they pulled the servers down, there had been talk of some people hoping to convert it to LAN play which was all that was missing i thought. Yes Basically this game is an instanced version of Diablo II but in first or 3rd person, if memory serves i think u can have up to 4 or 5 in an instanced party. The early levels are rather bland looking colour wise but its a post apocalyptic battle against the hordes of hell which have come thru Hellgates that have opened and most of humanity has had to flee the surface of the earth and move into hiding in sealed off train stations and tunnels underground to survive. The game has a huge amount of weapon and armor customisation thru upgrade consoles in the train stations (not the 1st one) You can also disassemble unwanted items for components which can be used to make better weapons, armors or mods (random each time you re enter a train station specific vendor.) Theres some extremly difficult huge bosses towards the end but fighting your way thru right to the end of normal difficulty is fun and challenging, theres some levels where you use mounted turrents to destroy a huge living brain type flying ship then afterwards you go inside it its the mind of a face hugged engineer. At the end part you fight your way down to the depths of hell the back to the final confrontation with about 4 huge bosses. The last guy is a super huge dude called Sydonai i think and he looks a lot like Diablo on steroids. You can use guns like a FPS in 1st or 3rd person (3rd is better mostly as some mobs spawn behind you at times. You can also be a dual wield sword guy- Berserker (my fav), a templar (sword n shield with auras (basically Paladin tank), Evoker - mage, Summoner- basically a necromancer, or Marksman - assault guns and sniper, engineer - another necro class with bots instead of flesh minions. Overall a game with a ton of fun and depth if you give it a decent chance at get at least a 4 - 5 train stations into it, the first couple are more tutorial levels. Also at lvl 4-5 you can start farming the first boss for good drops, exit start new game repeat to earn fast cash or mats from breaking items down. Don't listen to haters or people that have only tried a couple of levels. I urge you to give it a decent try yourself before you form an opinion, you never know you may love it, its fast paced and a lot of fun if you let it be.. Im signed up for the new beta, you cant have any of your old chars its a new version of the game hosted by a totally diff company. Yay for us, im rolling a new berzerker soon as the servers are up on the 3rd. see ya's ingame. |

Free mmorpg with item shop that doesn't unbalance game.
LFGame « General Discussion 5/26/11 10:56:17 PM
Try Flyff at gpotato website, its old school, anime graphics, can lvl over 120 and a lot of the item shops stuff is mostly cosmetic, show pets, clothing sets, u can get buff potions and items to prevent gear from breaking if u upgrade over +3, +10 items r hard to get and cost a lot of real cash to make, they give a damage bonus but mostly a super glow aura to you char, i have played it on and off over 5 yrs, it can be a bit of a grind above lvl 80, but they are constantly adding new content, the classes r fun, my fav is Billposter fights with a huge fist knuckle weapon and shield and has lots of buffs |

a lot of people didn't seem to notice the title of this post: that it was a concept idea for the future of gaming, eg in 50- 100 yrs from now, so even tho the technology dosnt exist yet it could become reality for my kids, kids to play in many years from now. Nice to think that one day gamers of the future could play a game like that. |
well im no kid at 41yrs, however i was just curious to see what people thought of the idea is all,thx to those of you that have replied. |
but didn't some of the coolest technologies start as someones dream which grew into a plan then a reality??? |
Kinda, but seriously forget about the negative stuff and too hard, this could be 50 to 100 years in the future, but how cool would it be to actually play such an immersive game like that................... |
I totally agree that the virtual reality was thought about around 20yrs ago or more when i was younger, however, as my title suggests this is a concept for the future of gaming e.g many years in the future when there is technology good enough to do this kind of stuff. I have never read anywhere anything quite like my idea,: a Gaming mega centre with zero gravity, jump pads, stuff that actually hits your body while you play and a suit that can adjust to your heartrate and breathing to alter the gameplay so you can keep pace. As i said i was looking for some clever people to add some good ideas to this post instead of just flaming it. |
Nope. It's for a different reason. Check the link in my sig, it will lead you in the right direction. - firstly im not out to make millions, i said i was putting the idea out there for free so some company, if they wanted to try something totally away from what gaming currently is could take the risk and make millions if they wanted to.
I too rem the early days of proposed VR, sounded cool too, i guess my idea is like VR on steroids |

maybe i posted this at the wrong hour, only one person who didn't really read the post replyed |

Just realised this isnt limited to just gaming and sports, combat training, it could also be used in movies, your the main hero in an fully immersive 3d/4d movie, jumping, fighting, getting knocked over, whatever. Play with girlfirend for added realism in bond movies :) |

"Bump" No ones got anything to add ??? |

Any type of game could be made using this concept, even combat training, sports training, go carts, bikes, imaging going go- carting but the view through your eyes the the helmet visor looks like a real version of motorstorm complete with jumps and padded crashes. Carts can go slow but simulated wind turbines and view could make it seem heaps faster. i could go on, so many concept ideas but too tired and almost midnight, work in morn. |
