I dont think i have ever agreed with a post more than this!!  I remember raiding various horde towns and open pvp, then came the BG...fun in its own way, but full scale attacks on capital cities would be sweet..  Incorporate rewards, and thats all the motivation needed for most people

Yes, this is the norm from what ive seen.  You will see no limit to vaginal and penile humor and discussion, along with in depth talks about drug abuse, rape and incest.  Its a cold world in there, and you will be called a fag many times... I am still playing but to be honest, at 36 years old it gets a little rough for me at times.

Well Ryzom has seasonal changes which are nice.  Dark and light had seasons also, water froze and you could walk on it, snow that built up on the ground from blizzards, then melt in the spring.   I dont recall a game that if you blew up something it was blown up for everyone ( if thats what your looking for).

good key bindings + good ping.  I can do things on NA i couldn't do on EU because of a 15 ping vs 200 ping.

Great, im going to make the move to NA hopefully that reduces my 200-350 ping a bit.  Then i can bee good like the guy in the video!  :)

Well, perhaps considering this newly found connection, all people that are not in large guilds or raiding should be banned!   Perhaps there should be a government position for the regulation of solo players.  I think it could be sort of a "mmorpg czar".  This person could have a staff to monitor all mmos, those not socializing enough will be delt with in the harshest of manors!  I think a online mmo prison would be in order, your toon is wisked away to a "virtual prison cell".

Lets do this!!

Gonna give up on MMORPG's altogether if none of them work for me. My better half wouldn't like Fallen Earth, and Age of Conan is pretty questionable as well. For some reason I have big hopes for Ryzom. What would be the minium level I should reach in each game before judging them?

 

 

I played AO so long ago im not sure, want to say i got to 30 something.. then SWG came out and i bailed. 

Ryzom sounds perfect till i cant jump or fall over a 3 inch cliff- but it is a great sandbox from what everyone says. 

For Vanguard i would play a few char. to 20's just to see what you like.  with 15 classes or so, trying multiple one would be in order.

EQ2  not sure here, i got to 15 and had to bail, i had a gfx card that just wouldnt work.

AOC couldnt play the beta even, just not my cup of tea.

I would, like many people, put my vote in for vanguard.  Lots of races, classes, huge world, great gfx  (if you got a ok comp), complex crafting and diplomacy line.  You will notice a bug once and a while but the game has come a long way! 

my 2 cents...

ohh and also quite a few ground mounts, and theres flying mounts, player crafted boats you can fish off of..

I was testing VG on my new PC running Windows 7 and I saw rain. I was at Elaini outpost.

I was using GeForce GTX 295 and the driver that came with it. It was not the latest 181.22 driver, but 180.xx (sorry, do not remember the exact version number, I am at work now).

Oh, and I also wanted to thank the original poster and others about the performance tips, this has been very informative thread!

I will definitely give the RAM drive a try.

Even so,you still might not see it.I think the drivers and the card have something to do with it because some people are still saying they can't see it while others say they can,guess it's a 50-50 shot in the dark.

OP, i have played VG up to 3 months ago on Vista and i cant see the rain, so its not just a 7 issue, if there is one with 7.

Its still up.  Are they still paying for it?  I thought it was down like 6-8 months ago..

I could play my 60 something ranger with one epic sword again... hmmm or my sk or my beastlord.... gosh could i go back to my first love?

Though i hate to say this, i would really like to see some form of a pvp flagging system like SWG had, or WoW.  Perhaps side could be what continent you started on.  If there on your Continent you can atk them but are flagged for a period of time.  This would effect PvE though; or you can go to the other land masses kill a guard and your flagged.  It could add a little bit of pvp fun that you wouldnt need to take part in.  I know its a PvE game but its all about options...

This has nothing to do with the score the reviewer gave or anyone's thought's on the matter.

It is about how he went about the review and his system for reviewing the game,I tell you what forget it,if you can not even be bothered to read what you are replying to then why should I help you out.

Haha, i guess my point is im not so sure he was wrong in his review.  Didnt think it was much of a strech.  Its a bad idea to retract it.  There, better?

I think for an unbiased review the next on should be done by an android!  Yes i said it, an android.  Im going to call Data right now.  He is the only hope we have right now for a unbiased review.

wierd, i play FE like lots of people atm, and i would give it about a 6.0.  Different setting but well, not to special.  Has about the worst gfx ive seen in mmo personally in like 3 years.  Not the worst game play though.  Every time i aproach a car or object and see the level of detail change to its final poop i cringe.   The shrubs that ar a X of 2d images lol.  But i play it cause im bored as hell.  Yes there is frame rate issues also dont let them tell you otherwise. If you have the comp, i would go for it.  Its really the best pve mmo out.  So much to do, and sandbox-ish.  Flight, diplomacy, excellent  crafting.  Its not without a few bugs but what mmo isnt?
