Are there any group based MMORPGs out there? I miss the days of classic Everquest when you had to group to actually be able to accomplish stuff. I played WoW to lvl 71 and it was mostly solo and boring as hell.  I miss the community and group work that Everquest had.

 I hate to say it but I think those days are gone forever.

However, Wizard 101 is a game where people actually group.  If you are in a fight usually someone will join in and help you.

It may or may not be what you like, chat is restricted and there are no guilds as such.  Give it a shot.

I would like to play Vanguard but what is stopping me is SOE.  As was stated earlier they cancelled some of their plans for the game.  If they would stop treating it  like a 'Red-Headed stepchild' I would sub to the game.

It seems that SOE does not care about the game.  I might be wrong but that is the impression that I get from reading its forums.

I don't think that it means their security is lax.  I think they are doing it to protect themselves from lawyers.  As I am sure you know people sue at the drop of a hat.

Look at the warning labels on products. ie.  on microwave popcorn "Warning contents maybe hot'.  If they did not do that  some idiot who got burned would try and sue them.

Sad we have gotten to this point but ambulance chasers (lawyers) are everywhere.

Been playing online games since they came out.  My son convinced me to try Wizard 101.

I am having a blast !!!

I decided to go balanced with the secondary school death. 

This game is NOT just for kids,  You have to plan your attacks and work with whomever you are grouped with.

Also its so nice not to hear the rude language, gold sellers, and other crap that other mmos have.

Did I mentions groups ?? Yes people actually group in this game.

Grats Wizard 101 you have created a real Gem.

Well I am a hairy legged old man, but I really enjoy playing with real females. 

I wish more females played games. 

They seem to bring a different slant on things.  Also don't let anyone tell you they can't play as well as guys.

I have seen more guys who played badly than girls.

Now if I only could only get my wife to play MMOs with me.  Oh well when I got married computer games did not exist.

If I was young again I would never marry a woman who was not a gamer. (Don't tell my wife I said that)  :)

The thing is dont game companies usually send you a verification to your Email when you open an account.  If they had I would have known about this.

I got an E-Mail from NCSoft informing me that my account will be banned if I dont stop selling game money.

Well that is funny because I have never had an Aion account, and don't plan on playing that game.

The E-Mail address is one that I hardly ever use, in fact the last time I used that address was July 2008.

Oh well I guess the gold selling scum will stoop to anything.

Still I wonder how they got my address.

Oh and I replied to the Email and told them to go ahead and ban the account.

But I really think no good can come from this.  I hope I am wrong.

I have been recently been running the BC dungeons and have had my first encounters with Death Knights as tanks.

So far every time a DK is a tank we wipe in the dungeons.  We run the same dungeon with a warrior or pally things seem to go far better.

I don't think that every DK is a poor player, but I have yet to play with a DK that can tank well.

What I would like to know is did Blizzard give the DK the proper tools to be a tank or did they just allow DKs to sign up as a tank for the random dungeons ??

Please don't let this turn into a flamefest.  I would like to hear from some DKs what they think of the tanking tools for that class.

1. The Doctor in SWG before the NGE.  I liked the fact that you could make your own supplies.  I had harvesters everywhere. Great times.  And no I did not sit outside of starports selling buffs,

2. Breaucrat in Anarchy online.  Great class for missions.  You had a pet and could mind control one of the mobs to fight for you.

3. Martial Artist in Anarchy Online.  Simple easy to play and had some nice heals.  You did not have to worry much about weapons.

4. Frost mage in WOW.  Fun class.  Ports.

5. Trader in Anarchy Online.  What can I say they are a money factory with their buffs.

ok first off this is not a hate on WOW.  I am at the moment playing the game.  I know there has been a lot of posts on the WOW players but what I have been seeing lately is beyond the pale.

I was in a random group doing the stockades.  Things were going well when the tank decided to just quit.  He did say "Good luck MF'ers" when he left.   Then the healer just left.  We re-queued and after about 10 mins we get a new tank and a healer.  The healer then asked the mage for some water.  The mage told the healer to F--- off.  So the healer left.

To make a log story short we went through 13 different people because of rudeness, players arguing about "Needing" loot that could not be used by the player who won it,  people quitting when they ding, and so on.

I have seen 5 year olds playing together better.

I hate solo play and I want to group when I play an MMO. 

I know there are rude players in every MMO.  But I have never seen crap like this in any other MMO I have played. 

I have played MMOs since they started.  I just dont get it.

By the way finally I was the only one left and gave up.  We never finished the dungeon and it is probably one of the simplest ones in the entire game,

What is really sad is I can imagine there are a lot of equipment nazi players that would love that feature.

If they would open a new sever WITHOUT Shadowlands I would return.

I would rather listen to fingernails clawing a chalkboard than hearing Metal.

But thats just me.

OK I get that they dont want to tell all, but for goodness sakes is Bioware taking lessons from congress ??

OK i quit MMOs' about a year ago but I decided to try again.

I play games to relax and escape from the real world for a few hours.  I have been playing them since they started and they used to be fun.  One thing that really bothers me is when people behave like they have no regard for other people. 

I have been playing WOW to do the random dungeons.  One thing that has started to happen in them is a tank will pull a ton of mobs and run away or not fight and let the group die.  Usually they say something like "So long suckers" or other things that I will not quote here.

I dont know the ages of the people who do this so I am not going to lay the blame on any age group.  BUt my goodness weren't these people taught by their parents common respect.

I almost wish MMOs were not a popular as they are now because when only a few people played them you would never see things like that happening.

Anyway It is not worth $15 or so a month to put up with this crap.
