It took 6 months for that to be uncovered.  It took someone to hack to put the info out and he got banned.  Am I angry YES.  I firmly feel that if the info had not been made public no action would have been taken.  I dont understand how T20 could keep his job.  His rep is gone and he not only hurt the players but he has put a stain on CCP that will never go away.  I have worked at jobs where in my employment agreement it was stated if I caused any mention of the company to be in the press I would be terminated.

I could give a heck about BOB.  That is not the point.  If they wanted the Devs to play the game it should have been on the test server.

As much as this is a confession it is also a request for your forgiveness for events of which I’m truly sorry.

 

Recent allegations of developer misconduct have been the subject of much conversation in the EVE community and CCP. We have made a few recent statements to address these allegations, and listened to the community response.

In my last statement to the community, I promised that more would be forthcoming before the start of the weekend. Based on community response, we've addressed lingering questions and concerns in two different Dev Blogs.

Please read t20's Dev Blog, "On Recent Allegations" and Hellmar's Dev Blog, "The Commitment".

It is our hopes these Blogs will address the remainder of the EVE community's concerns over these allegations.

Their whole guild average lvl is 21.0

This is a Hardcore Raiding guild, Halcyon Affinity. They play 24/7, grouped. All they do is Adventure.  Not to mention, they played in Beta so they've already scouted the leveling up grounds.  They did the same thing in EQ2. Their lives revolves around MMOs. Trust me, I was a member and seen it first hand. Too much for me.

I have been playing online games since they existed.

EVERY mmo has had the same complaint when they are released.  It never fails.

No matter what you do or what you like somebody can find something wrong with it.

If you drink they claim you are going to end up as a drunk and fry your liver.

If you like meat they claim you are killing helpless animals and are going to clog your arteries.

If you like sweets they claim your will become overweight and become diabetic.

When rock music started in the 50's everyone claimed you go to hell if you listened to it.

Some religions claim if you go to movies you are going straight to hell.

Everyone I know thinks I am crazy or stupid or starting my second childhood because I play computer games.

So enjoy what you like its your life.

I noticed the King Quests collection as #5.

Any others here remember that series from the golden days of Sierra ??  I remember playing them years ago.  For their time they were amazing.

I agree.  Sometimes I think mmo players are the most codependant group on the planet.   I play, at the present time both EVE and WOW.  I dont really care about the numbers.  If the game is fun to me thats all that matters.

One thing that may be causing this is the trend of not doing anything to hurt "poor litle Johnnies" self esteem.  It seems to me that the fashionable way to raise kids these days is to not punish them when they do wrong or give them everything  they want.  Maybe by doing this we are getting a generation of people with fragile egos.   If you are raised so you think that you are special and whatever you like is always the best way, maybe you feel that you are so great that what you like has to be the best and other people's likes and disikes don't really matter.

Disclaimer....  I am not a scociologist.  Just an old fud observing the younger generation.
