Interesting... from the A Letter to Our Fans on Guildwars.com posted in Feb:

In fact, the reason NCsoft West is restructuring itself is so that the company can put all of its focus into its top-tier games like Guild Wars 2.
No mention of Guild Wars 2 in today's open letter, though.

Did they switch it's dev management offices again? Or is GW2 so low on the totem pole that it is so easily forgotten? The silence surrounding that game irks me to no end.

The best part of this is Tad Williams was at the launch. That speaks volumes.

The original Neverwinter Nights stands alone as one of the best RPG games ever made.

I am, tragically, one of the older gamers that can tell you that the Neverwinter Nights you are talking about is not the "Original" Neverwinter Nights. The original was actually a true MMORPG with the same engine as the original gold box DnD games. It was the first online game i ever played, so I remember it fondly, though it was not a great game by any means.

That Neverwinter Nights was an AOL, the original America Online closed dialup network, game. And about the only thing it shared in common with the NWN of this thread (and world conciousness) is the D&D theme and the name.

NWN, the game of this thread, should be ranked in the top 5 of any Hall of Fame, Best Of, whatever games list.

ANet stated in their March 27, 2007 press release (here) the GW:EN expansion and GW2 target release date; both were mentioned in that missive.

It's obvious to me the voting here is primarily done by those who do not frequent this site that often and rather by those coming in from voting campaigns for EVE and WoW. WoW has the massive player base and EVE has the centralized, organized community.

I doubt more than 15% of voters have played more than their primary MMOG and perhaps one other in the last year. Maybe 10% have played others longer than a 10 hour trial.

Reader's Choice Awards are the Best Organized Playerbase Awards ;)
