I think Torchlight is a fun, faced pace, hack and slash.  It gets a 8.5/10 from me.  Very good game all around.

I am a filthy pirate.  I share games I buy. How I percieve it  is no different than lending a movie or anything else for that matter that is copyrighted to a friend.    Just my demographic for friends is larger here on the WWW.  Argghhhhh ye stinking nooblet.

PS. Lending copyrighted material is not against the law, selling it is, nuff said. PERIOD.

I was @ E3 and I must say I seen SW:TOR  and it  got my money, going to be pure awesome.

Ever got kicked from a instance group because your a pro healer and the tank is really not a tank?

One ret pally at lv70 was the tank for UK with only 7081hp and i was the 70 holy pally with plenty of mana that the group never needs to stop and wait.So he goes in and trys to take aggro when hes not even prot spec and wipes himself before i can even heal.Hes always the first person to get killed, and has the lowest hp in the group.

So we tried it a secound time with me keep healing him and the party,he doesnt keep aggro and all the mobs kill the casters first the blames the healer-me when hes the one who dies in 3 shots. He gives a wow gj and kicks me out of all people from the group.

Wierd part is he wasnt the first leader,my friend was (who he was a skilled hunter) he gave lead within the middle of the dungeon. What gave him the right to kick me when its not his group? My firend replys "nothing i can do now he says you just fail at healing".He pst me later within 10 or so minutes saying "we got a nother healer but it still got a wipe, everyone is now blameing the tank".

Its the community of WoW that makes me real sick but thats not stoping me from quiting,im just going to have to live with these FAIL boats.

I am a pro pally  healer as well.  Names Lymbo on Uldaman server. Alliance.

I know this story all too well.  It doesn't bother me though when I get kicked from a group that has players that don't know there stuff.  The whole group, your friend included, are complete retards.  Anyone with any skill would had laughed at a tank with 7K hp in a Heroic.  LMAO.

It would even be better if Jedi and its "evil" counter part, the Sith, were not classes that you choose and more like Special Secondary classes that when you meet the necessary requirement you can become one. Of course to stop a flood of Jedi/Sith the requirements could be hard or nearly impossible, time consuming, grindy like hell, need many super mega omega rare unique uncommon items, and then an extremely SOLO type quest. ohh and make it so the items and stuff require is Soul Bound to the character(not account wide) so no trading.

Yeah I know it sounds ridiculous and maybe stupid for some but that way we know that atleast that Jedi/Sith player you saw walking past you is a really really very really stupidly good player.

LMAO, no comment.

Well lets hope the game is actually good.

WAR had a pretty awesome trailer also (a coupe of them) and that game couldn't live up to the trailer.

Are you trying to say Bioware is on the same level as Mythic Entertainment? If so... you my friend are on the wrong side of the bell curve.

I've felt like this many times in the game, but I find that taking a step back to doing the simple things gets me caught up real quick.

What I mean by that is to start back in the easier areas first, you'll find that you'll get back all your things very quickly.  The hiding skills that you just learned will come in real handy fast.  It just helps to change the pace a little.

The first time I lost a full set of banded that I had scraped together, I felt pretty pissed off too.  But I went back, and did some of the easier mobs again and it made me feel better.  I saved up and got back my banded set in a day or so.  The second time, I lost a banded set and a mount on a pvp run, I was so annoyed, I decided to take a break from pvp.  I went exploring and swam out into the ocean, I discovered some cool islands.  Then on this one island, I found this parked raft on this beach that these 3 guys had left, so I stole it.

I find that if you keep at it the game will give you back the things you lost and even more as you gain skill.

Can we have our raft back?

Massively first reported on a post on the official World of Warcraft forums from Community Manager Zarhym that confirms that the speculation as to whether or not the new Blizzard MMO would be based on the Diablo or Starcraft franchises is over. It won't be.

In a post responding to the user statement: "People are saying that there is another MMO in the works at Blizzard. Seriously, if there was, they would be advertising it already." Zarhym told the forums that: "We have nothing to advertise for the new MMO because it's a shell of a game thus far. We've already stated it'll be a brand new franchise, which means the lore, art, and game play are being developed entirely from scratch. It's an overwhelming process, but a process through which we excel. Our track record supports this."

So, as it stands right now, it appears as though Blizzard is going to stray away from their tested and true franchises and broaden their scope with something new.

Old news is old.  This was confirmed long before this.  I seen a video about 6+ months ago stating this. SStraight from a dev's lips.

5 minutes of my life I will never get back *sad panda face*

Takes this for what its worth, but, the internet world could live without this sort of satire.  It was not even remotely humerous or idiotic, it was just plain ol' gay.

If they make the lightsaber obtainable later on in the class progression it may deter some folks from choosing the class.  Also make it hard to achieve with a long quest chain that requires some great accomplishment's.

Post your reasons as to why this will not be like your favorite SWG Pre-CU.

-no dual classes

-no creature handler

-Jedi will not be rare

-no player owned cities

-player housing?

-player owned shops

-player owned vendors

-player bases

-space combat?

But it will have a storyline. lol.

Why do so many (casual) players whinge about raid content they claim they'll never see? Lets take a look at WoW's raids with active lockouts:

Molten Core/Onyxia : Still in the game

Zul'gurub: Still in the game.

Blackwing Lair: Still in the game

AQ20: Still in the game

AQ40: Still in the game

40 Man Naxxramas: No longer in the game in this format.

Karazhan: Still in the game

Gruuls's Lair: Still in the game

Magtheridon's Lair: Still in the game

SSC/TK: Still in the game. No longer need attunements.

Mount Hyjal/Black Temple: Still in the game. No longer need attunements.

Zul'Aman: Still in the game. The Amani war bear had been removed from the loot table of the 4th chest.

Sunwell Plateau: Still in the game

World bosses: Azuregos, Lord Kazzak was moved to outlands as Doom Lord Kazzak, Ysondre/Lethon/Emeriss/Taerer and Doomwalker are still in the game. Only Kazzak was removed from the Blasted Lands and re-tuned for lvl 70's and placed in outlands.

So why are people complaining about content that "they will never see". You never saw Black Temple at lvl 70? Fine, go get a group and go back and clear it. Theres nothing stopping you.

The only content that has been removed from the game is lvl 60 Naxx which was re-done as  10/25 man Naxxramas

It's nice to do the content at the appropriate lvl caps.  This is why we lack skillful players in the game today.

Not the most efficient way to do the said daily's but put's all the information for those that are thottbot or wowhead challenged in a convenient writeup.

new hacks popup all the time I'm looking at a bunch for WoW on youtube vids. there is no perfect method for detecting if packets being routed from client to server is being modified.

Not to sound like an instigator but I m very tehnical and  have some discrepancies to correct you on.  First there are several methods of detecting packet tampering.  You can buy hardware devices now that do his for you or you can setup a system with software (IDS).  If you change the information in the packet the size of the packet changes from the standard. Packets are broken down to a standard size and if that size changes there is packet tampering. I can build systems to sniff for these and drop them with no response to the originator.  Anywho, believe me the people with the skillset are not wasting their time hacking and selling WoW gold or accounts.  The  return is puny compared to what they would most likely be doing for a living.  There wouldn't even be  "a rush of the hack" feeling.

Also no way to verify memory corruption. If software engineers could easily validate memory modification, then you would not have buffer overruns

Server side you should at least check for the velocity the player is moving at. I dont know why MMOs don't do this. Simply test the magnitude of the velocity. If it exceeds the threshold you got a speed hacker

If they are moving at the threshold or less then they are at least within acceptable range

MagnitudeSquared is a quick test and cheap CPU cost. Will bypass the performance loss for a square root calculation

Sounds like a lot of gibberish, I can however tell you in speedhacking packets flow at an accelerated rate.  This sets off red flags in most established security measure systems.  Very easy to detect imo, at the end of the day yes many games have hacks to some degree and there was no reason for the retaliator to try pick on WoW.

Darkfall will have many hacks until they figure out what security measures they will use.  I bet dollars to donuts they have none at the moment. If they do it is probably some default standard out the box crap.

Hater much.

Is this a late April fools joke?

Serious though, how can they even fathom taking this direction with the game?  I hate Star Trek and know very little about it, but I can safely say they spent more time on their ships than on the planets.  Being aboard the ship and seeing the interior should be a big premise for this MMO.  There is so much you could do with ship interiors from the content perspective (co-op pve/pvp, guilds, housing, role-play and the list goes on... )

I honestly planned on giving this game a try but after hearing this tidbit! Well let's say im disheartened.  I am an avid MMO gamer, I do own a copy or two of every MMO to date and most likely will not bother installing this title. I will simply buy this game to put on the dusty shelf.

Sorry for the hardcore fans as this must leave you in shock and awe.

After I watched this I too gained all faith in funcom in highering a good team to take care of this massive task and bringing a completely new concept to life for those of us that are into this sort of thing. I believe everyone has heard of local folklore and legends since the begining of time.  Hell we read about them in history, it is myths, legends, and all that jazz.  I heard of the monster in the closet since I can remember ( I know it doesn't exist.... or does it!).  Anyways I have to go rub one off after watching those two clips, dark days are coming.

This game is most definently not the worst piece of crap but it is in a close second.

Warrior

Rogue

Druid

Mage

Shaman (these were one faction for a long time then given to both factions later on)

Paladin (see above)

Warlock

Priest

Huntard

Deathknight (Recently added)

So technically it only had 8 classes at launch.  If you look at many MMO's not many have more than 8 classes at launch as it becomes a huge balancing act and all there developement time becomes consumed.  They add it with time.  I think Bioware is going to deliver a stellar SW IP, even better than our beloved late SWG.

See you all where no man had gone before.
