We are a couple in the mid 50th and looking for a new Challenge. We played WoW a couple of Times mostly after a new addon. But when it comes to the hard Core Instance we just saw we are to slow for that. Now here comes wintertime and we looking for a new MMO.

It should have Interesting Quest line, good to play as a in game couple, interesting PVP. A bit of Grinding....

I just think  a WoW Clone will do it:)

Thank you in advance

Toki

Star Wars The Old Republic, Age of Conan, and Lord of The Rings: Online.

All 3 titles are great stories and the way the stories are presented is different enough from one another you could get some serious longevity. I would also have to say that Hands down these 3 titles are best for "Duo-ing Elderly", Just my 5 Canadian cents.

Screw graphics,

When I first played World of Warcraft back in 2004 I was intrigued with abilities, never thinking of research I was hooked at "go see your trainer".  New abilities kept me playing talents kept me playing. The mmo part also, but deep builds were so much fun for the little I knew about the game.

There was ( and still is ) an mmo called 9 Dragons, the game kind of sucks with F2P and it was point and click, but going to different Kung Fu schools and learning new abilities and styles were great. Punch, kick and punch, spin kick and punch, sward play, spear speculations "go see the master on the hill, he'll  teach you more" the list went on forever.

Everquest 2 had tons.

Age of Camelot had tons.

D&D Online had tons.

What do we have now ?.....Elders Scrolls Online, FF14, and GuildWars 2 with its simple Weapons swap abilities, these game are nice looking but your done for the most part around 30......They look nice but shallow !

That post title tho! ;-)

... or is it just a MOBA?

I mean if I am going to play an MMORPG I want to be able to make my own character not pick one of a line. I get that there will be skills to assign and what not, but it is nice to be able to have some look choices etc.

It is a lobby game

Going to have to start calling this all things Hearthstone. That's the breadwinner anymore, it's quickly becoming their number one game on my blizzard list. Still love D3, some sc2, but wow has tanked in my book and hots is just wrong. I guess we will wait and see what their sandbox game is they decide to make. Hearthstone for my Samsung Note, hurry it up already.

Why? It would be awful to play on that ... anything shy a tablet would be a terrible experience.  I do typos on my current phone imagine the wrong plays you would have.  I would have to have pixie fingers to play properly.

The older I become the worse the writing gets for the FF series.

Daybreak games says it's still very much alive, and Terry Michaels is one of the devs still leading the charge, so what do YOU want to see from EQ Next in 2015? What will affirm your faith in the studio after its layoffs and convince you that EQN is on track?

Personally, and I talked a bit about last week, all I really want is more details and more gameplay video. If Landmark is the testbed for what EQN is to become, than I think we're more than ready to see the game in action as the devs are making it. Enough "we're transparent" talk without really showing anything. Give us classes, mechanics, dungeons, lore, and races. Give us how the rallying calls will play out, and more than just a quick "sort of" video at SOE Live.

If Daybreak is to continue the transparent style of SOE, then there's no better game to show that approach than EQ Next. We've heard plenty of talk, and the ideas behind the game are fantastic... but let's see some meat on those bones.  Let's see if EQN is one of the main reasons Columbus Nova would buy SOE, and don't make it just another teeny update either.

What about you, what would ease your worries about EQN under Daybreak Games?

They would need to tell you the truth from the start to make an informed decision on what one wants in a game that is not coming anytime soon.

No, that game had a chance...twice in 12 years! The boat came and gone.
Sad to hear this... Good luck to those losing jobs due to this and may they find great success elsewhere.

GREAT! Now we have three identical games coming out and one that will try to be like the others but never will.

Camelot Unchained, Crowfall, Albion, then the red headed step child Shroud of the Avatar.

I would like to see co-operative dungeons and bosses along with some 2v2/3v3 or 4v4 game modes with different deck play. I would also like to see talent builds for the heroes thus allowing us to maybe choose a different hero abilities.

I've played all of WoW expansions and enjoyed them to a greater or lesser degree.  I started to enjoy WoD.  Now, I've upgraded the majority of my Garrison to level 3, except for the Menagerie and fishing shack (I don't really do either).  I feel almost compelled to log in every day and do the Garrison tasks to get my resources and the like.  I do the Apexis Crystal task and I play a couple of dungeons, which I must admit feel like they are very short compared to the dungeons of old that we used to get at the lower levels and some of the other expansions.

All in all, it seems the game is now encouraging people to do their own thing - the Garrison and the dungeons.  There are no dailies in Draenor, to speak of, so you don't really see much going on unless it's people still catching up to level 100.

The Garrison seems to be everyone's hub now, playing alone doing their thing - but I had to ask myself, "To what end?" The game is taking up people's time now, with the Garrison, and that's the key feature that people are encouraged to work at, because aside from the dungeons, that's the game now in it's entirety. You're paying your sub and dedicating time to repeat the same thing every day.  Mmm.

The questing was so fast from 90-100 and the world map seems quite small - each zone may be ok in size, but much of the space is mountains, hills and forests, so there's not really that many places to explore.

When I think back to when WoW came out, it took an age to get to the level cap and that game costs the same as the expansions do now.  There was a whole game of things to do, level 1-60; lots and lots of zones and a wide variety of stuff.  Now you get charged the same price for a handful of zones and no new races, professions, talents, classes.  Blizzard has got lazy and they think that by giving us our own farmville (again!) that it justifies it as a game.

I know I'll get flamed for this post as people are still in honeymoon period, but I think the masses will eventually realise that doing this WoD day after day is going to get boring fast.

Just my thoughts of course.

It takes me 10 minutes to complete my menial punitive Garrison task's.  Doesn't really suggest solo.  Also the Apexis daily is a group quest if your doing the 1000 one. It's does anything but promote solo gameplay.  Invasions, need friends to help or you won't get silver or gold.  I mean, I think you need to take a better look because you couldn't be more wrong.  I could go on all day with examples but that is not my job here.

I tried to get into the game but just can't seem to like it. WoW is better bang for my buck and just is a better game overall.

unlike other MMO's that age with time, this is the first that has made playing content at level cap more painful and reduced replay value.

What a shame.

.

Couldn't disagree with you more, much better game because of it. Makes the world feel alive again.

The game was fail before it even launched, its terrible in Korea and it is terrible in NA.

Came back for a month and played WoD.

Pros

Polished and complete.  Game still looks good after all these years.  Populous, quick pops for LFD and PvP.

Cons

Miserable community. Brain dead PvE. Useless crafting (don't know what the devs were thinking with this new system).  Horribly imbalanced PvP.

I think WoW quit being a game long ago.  The sole focus is getting better gear as quickly and easily as possible.

Needless to say , my stay in Azeroth was short.

What server and what's your toons name that you played for the month? Fyi: Expansion hasn't been out a month yet... You haven't even tried the new raid content which releases today, however, you will need a guild to do it as LFR launches later.

Also you mention nothing of garrisons and you have to start one early on, the fact you never even mentioned them makes me believe you are a troll.  100%

I'm trying to list things that just aren't in other games. I know some of my list probably have similar things in other games, and that some of the features in my list aren't liked by the masses.

List your own or criticize my list.

1. Low level challenge
2. meditate - looking at the book/sitting down
3. Death penalty 1 - XP loss
4. Death penalty 2 - gear loss
5. Quests are received by talking, not glowing icons
6. Open world dungeons, not instanced
7. complete heal (HP multiplier/chain heals)
8. Feign Death - To split mobs/pull
9. Feign Death - to stop aggro
10. Runners at near death/fear aggro, mob group attack (train to zone)
11. Wizard/Druid Teleport
12. SoW
13. Mez/charm, and breaking mez/charm
14. BIG Quests
15. grinding mobs instead of quest hub
16. kiting classes
17. Fear as suicide technique
18. Trains
19. Intentional Trains
20. Ruthless AI (I summon thee!) Death

Is this a joke? If not then let me be the first to tell you that all these features are in all other MMO's already.  Not sure what you are smoking but I would stop.

I am enjoying it as well.

I have no idea if it is a result of their continued incompetence or if it was some evil plan, but instead of granting the FREE TIME they promised they had added to Patron accounts last month, they charged my CC today for $14.99

When I previously logged into the game it said my patron status was good until Nov 20th

They charged me anyway.. and my account now shows it's "good" until Dec 19th

I have been playing the game (with a sub) despite their issues, but this is too much.  Like I said, it doesn't matter if it's just another mistake (in a long line of them) or if there was malicious intent to take an extra month sub before people cancel.  They now have messed with my money and no game is worth that.

I will be immediately deleting my CC info after cancelling my sub and will never give TRION access to that information again for any game,

It's an error - it happened to me when I played Aion - happened to me in Rift, happened to me in DAoC as well.

Malicious intent??? That's just ludicrous - because every time this happens they lose a customer and they get smacked with chargeback fees from credit card company when the player calls to have the charges reversed.

Do you honestly think for a single second that this was intentional???

Like companies intentionally are trying to lose money?

Normally no, but this is not the first time they had an issue. Also, it APPEARS to be very suspicious when I open a support ticket 3 weeks ago saying there was a mismatch on the account (and thousands of others).  Their support team ignore the ticket (still open), the CM says they know about it and don't worry. Then they charge your account anyway and add the 30 "free" days to it after the charge.

Also they are not AUTOMATICALLY reversing the charge.  Now they want everyone to open separate tickets (though they still didn't resolve my initial one).  Why would they force people to do that?  It's their "mistake" and they should be able to see who they wrongly billed and automatically reverse them.  Could it be that they know some percent (perhaps a large one) of people will never open a ticket?

Seems to strain the edge of credibility at every turn.

They did it because of people like me.  I wouldn't even notice 14.99 and they will end up getting to keep it while they refund those who do catch it.  Free money making corporate tactic honestly, been happening for years.

Over 20 years, started with MUDs and telnet stuff. Meridian 59, UO, AC, AO, DAOC, EQ, SWG, WOW, CoH, and tons of others to modern day.

I am the same as this guy, however, I do disagree... even though I played them they were not MMO's. MUD's are called MUD's for a reason not an MMO.  So ya! Meridian 59, UO, blah blah blah...played em all and still playing.
