I don't want to hear excuses. I want to hear accountability. I want to see patch notes specifically pointing out known issues if they weren't fixed already.

It's fucking hilarious how if you don't want to sub to these unfinished buggy games you're a poor person mooching, but when you do buy in and subscribe and expect quality you're overbearing and expect too much.

There are quests that were broken since beta and they 2-stepped their way right into launch.  Even now there are some simple quests that have spawning issues that seem simple enough to correct so people can progress on. I've seen F2P games hotfix stuff like that in 24-48 hrs. Is Zenimax capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time?

I'm one of the people that came in liking ESO, but I feel like Zenimax is being rewarded for feet dragging.  Look at their terms of service.  They try to make people pay an extra month if they don't cancel 30 days in advance, but I'm not allowed to expect simple quest hotfixes.  I'm not allowed to expect when I press my mouse or keys something is to happen. I'm not allowed to expect NPCs to spawn in quests.

FOH. I didn't buy in to hate the game.

They have had more hot fixes for quests than any other MMO Ive ever played in this short a period of time. You think these developers don't have families to go home to?I guarantee you they have teams working on every inch of this game. For crying out loud the games only been out what 3 weeks?Get over yourselves.Im having a great time in the game.Yes there are bugs but not gamebreakers for me.If you cant have a good time playing this game then you aren't even trying.Just want whine like little kids.Man sometimes I wish the Internet was never invented.

These companies (all of it, including Zenimax) think we all are customers, not "fellow gamers". They also act like that. If i don't pay my sub in time, do they say "ah cut some slack to Joe.. he is a good man, he will pay it.. lets just wait a little more"? No. So why should i cut some slack to them? Why should i wait for the magical patch that will fix everything?

Whole review says "it is not that bad, just wait, they will fix it". No. First of all, it is that bad. Second of all, again, why should i wait? If i am a customer, which i am in their eyes, i demand the polished version now. Not 3 months later.

This is not a indie / kickstarter game. This is an AAA title that costs lot of money.

It is amazing that gaming companies usually gets away with a pat on their back. In any other business field, acts like this will make your company ruin. But when it comes to games, suddenly we all became "ah you.. don't do this again.. but we still love you, don't worry."

Why do we keep doing that? Gaming became a very serious business lately, billion dollars kinda thing. Bigger then movies. Bigger then any other entertainment. Companies understand this perfectly but we still can't. We still think people who makes games are different, are more "special". No. They are not.

Make them understand. Unsub. Ask for a refund. Make complaints. Or we will keep seeing this kind of amateurism in the future.

More true than any other statement about MMO's.

Sure there are things at launch that are out of the developer's hands:  server queues, battlegorund queues, etc.     Those kind of things....TESO doesn't have an issue with at all.  Instead it's duping bugs...disgusting bugs that are quite obvious and very easily seen by developer and player alike (seen during the Beta, remember this).

Things like fundamental design flaws that prevent playing with friends in an MMO...seriously, that is the most fucked up, piss-on-your-customer thing I've ever heard of.  It's like...it's....holy shit evil!  Seriously, just seriously...that's just,..ugh!  Oh sure it's easy for htem to PvP together, I think, but for PvE you can't so much as have shared credit for things....or even see allies if you're not on the same page.  It's just utterly disgusting.    Might as well have been a single-player game.

Im sure they did it all on purpose just to spite you. This is ZOS first MMO with a new Networking tech. The Megaserver tech they are using is majorly complicated.Multiple servers that make up one giant server.Never been done like this before.Phsing has bugs to work out.It will be fixed,They have no choice. Its not the end of the world for crying out loud.

People can complain and moan about this launch and its bugs all they want.It was way smoother than most launches and Ive gotten my $60 easily out of it and its not even a month old yet.Im not saying there aren't bugs but they are minor things compared to some of my past MMO launches and Ive been through most of the big ones if not all of them. You couldn't even play WOW at launch.Thats when you really had something to complain about. All games get released with bugs, its the way things are these days with the size scope and complexity of developing them, especially MMO's.The sky is not falling here.If you cant take this launch then maybe you should reconsider your leisure activities. If it didn't meet your expectations then maybe you need to rethink your expoectations. The game has delivered everything I was promised and more.

For me it is odd seeing them praised for being responsive when they have pretty much ignored the big things that I have seen people ask for. The only item in that list above that anyone I know has even been concerned with is phasing affecting groups and I am glad it is being addressed. Other than that I haven't seen a single item in that so called responsive list even asked for.

The big items I have seen everyone I know complain about and ask for changes to is the interface and it continues to not be addressed. Fix it for PCs and give us a standard MMO UI with multiple hotbars and a free mouse cursor. It has been dumbed down for Xbox/PS4 players to a single 5-6 item hotbar and the mouse locked to combat unless you open a window. PC players should not be hindered by console gamers. Fix the quest log so we can track more than one quest at a time...that one is a huge pain as well. Bag space in banks and on character is a more minor complaint but could use a look. A worldwide auction system instead of guild only is a concern because what the result will be is that due to the lack of it there is going to be one world auction guild that everyone is going to join just to make this ourselves if there isn't a guild limit size(not sure if there is).

Don't get me wrong. I like the game. Thrilled about seeing DAoC style RvR back and I hope to see it succeed. Just can't believe they are being praised as responsive when they have fixed nothing I have seen people ask for that matters except phasing and are adding stuff I have seen noone ask for.

The UI isn't dumbed down for the consoles.UI is designed for a limited action set with more or less active mobile combat. The game is balanced around this style of play.Change that to a WOW style UI and you just have another WOW clone.Thats precisely what we don't want. The UI has absolutely nothing to do with the game coming out on consoles. It was designed to be this way from the gound up.Not to mention it was designed to bridge the gap between the single player Elder Scrolls games and an MMO or haven't you been paying attention all this time?Go play WOW and its many clones if thats the style of UI you need. This isn't the game for you.

Huh?!

I was 45th in the queue last night on Wyrmrest Accord

Yeah I don't play WOW anymore but that game isn't going anywhere for a long time. Silly statements like that really crack me up.

A release date is a necessary thing for me, too many good games to fit into real life. I leave very little time for gaming.

It would certainly make me happier if the expansion was large enough scale and started at an earlier level so we can skip MoP content. I don't want an instant 90, I like leveling and quests, but MoP was so bad for me that I couldn't force myself to do it.

This is how I felt about the level 80+ Cata content, but I found the trick was to leave the game for months, and then come back and not do the early leveling content. That way you don't have anything to compare the level 80+ content with, and you can play through it.

If you have to use tricks to fool yourself into playing a game, then maybe it's time to consider quitting altogether?

Its not a trick if you just need a break. Give the guy a break.

GW2 is not a lobby game.

Lobby Implies no Avatars representing your character. So I think its no less an MMO than GW2.As stated earlier MMO stands for Massively Multiplayer Online correct?Neverwinter is all of that. Its a silly argument anyway. If you enjoy it why is it even a question? If you don't why do you care?

Yeah Id have to agree. The Game is nowhere near a fail. The expansion looks awesome too.

It's just apparent laziness and OR a fear of players complaining.  Probably a bit of both.  But there's a reason why a well known fantasy author actually adds variety between his or her realms.  There's a reason why the Dungeons and Dragons archetypes have worked in fantasy for years.

In this festering era of lackluster imaginations and programmers who are driven like slaves in an endless array of cubicles, we have lost the need for variety and creativity.  It's all about the bottom dollar, saving on imagination and variety seems to in their minds add to profit margins.

I can see ESO going free to play very quickly if not immediately.  If they can't even put in the effort to title the classes differently between realms than this is just going to be a sure sign that the rest of the title will fare the same.

Still a bad argument. The Elder Scrolls is game based on a base class you can then modify to your hearts content. If ESO did it any differently it would not be an Elder Scrolls game.Maybe you never played an Elder Scrolls game?If not you need to educate yourself before calling programmers lazy. Its very ignorant and insulting to there hard work.Maybe this game isnt for you who knows. It wont be for everyone.Hell after I try it out it might not be for me but I wont dismiss it until Ive tried it for myself and you should either.Of course your arguments are generally what is expected from Trolls so I guess theres really no talking to you.I just dont get the hate the Internet creates with gamers who are so self absorbed and self entitled. It blows my mind.Besides that when a game goes F2P it usually turns into a nickel and dime fest piece of crap and the same goes for the games that start out that way.I havent played a single F2P game that was worth a shit.Ive tried most if not all the major F2P games out.Complete garbage.

Love ignorant messages like this.No proof of your complaints whatsoever. How are they destroying The Elder Scrolls exactly? Its modified to play as an MMO. It has to have certain systems for it to work as an MMO.It cant be played exactly like a single player game.It simply just wouldnt work. You have to take into account economy, multiple players and a crap ton of other systems not normally in Single player Elder Scrolls games.Theres nothing disappointing in this game except they added first person view.ALthough thats ok since its an optional play style. So be disappointed if you want to be but your going to miss out on what looks to be a fun game.

4 classes are not enough imo. I prefer a game with diversity having as many classes as possible. That's why i love games like EQ. But as i understand having many classes the developer needs to balance them out which is really hard work, and i guess ppl dont like hard work.

Perhaps you all dont quite understand how the Elder Scrolls games work?Classes in these games are just a template. You can basically build out your character however you want.Start out with a Melee class and add magic abilities perhaps make him more like a a Paladin from other games.Theres nearly infinite ways to create the "class" you like.So yeah four "classes" is enough.

I will say it again in response to this article.  I absolutely do not have a problem with a subscription model, but paying $59.95 for a game I haven't had a chance to demo and see if I like is totally out of the question.

What they should consider doing is go with an entirely new business model, that of offering a Free Trial immediately then make it so if you want to continute playing, you have to subscribe for a minimum of 90 days.  I don't even mind them adding a cash shop as well as a subscription requirement as long as the cash shop is for cosmetic items, not content.

Anyway, just my two cents.  I really wanted to try out wildstar but I am not going to invest $59.95 to buy the box, not likely anyway.

Even though I am willing to shell out the $59 and sub for Wildstar I don't disagree with your idea.It would be a great way to get players who are on the fence about it in and see what the game is all about.I dont doubt that eventually they will have a Trial so maybe then you will jump in and join what I hope is going to be a fun game.

Bioware/LucasArts/EA, Funcom/EA, En Masse/Bluehole Studio/Atari, ArenaNet/NCSoft. Those are the companies behind the 4 "mainstream" mmorpg releases in the last year and change.

None of those companies were capable of keeping up a content schedule that would justify 14.99 a month (or the price of 1 quality indie game like Torchlight or Dungeon Defenders).

What makes Carbine/NCSoft different, when they're ALREADY soft hinting at adjusting their business model as they deem necessary?

Secondly, why are they double dipping w/ a $59.99 price tag and only offering 1 month of service w/ it?  Why not 2 or 3 months?

This isn't about P2P vs F2P. This isn't about people w/ money vs poor people (how fucking ignorant can you be?), it's about value and justification of cost.  If you're a mark or a john who buys pussy and throws money around so be it. I've got some beans to sell you later that will help you get laid  for free. Right now it's about HOW Wildstar is so vastly different from TERA, The Secret World, SWOTR, and Guild Wars 2 in regards to content deployment.

Its called recouping your time and Investment.Since when is that double dipping? They are entitled to make back the money they have invested in the game. You aren't entitled to any more than they want or should give you. They could just as well charge you $59.99 and give you no months of free time. They are being generous by doing so and also sticking with the standard of all Sub based games to date. Why are you surprised by this model?Where have you been the last 15 years?Carbine has employees with families and mouths to feed.Get over yourself. You aren't entitled to anything.

Ive tried a ton of f2p games and honestly they are mostly crap.Id pay a sub for a quality game any day of the year over another F2p Game.As others have posted here a good sub game will have good new content added. If it doesnt they dont get my money and I dont play them. Its that simple. The sub model does not need to go away.It needs to stay. The F2p model so far has been pretty much garbage and cash grabs.Even the AAA games like SWTOR and Rift who have gon F2p I still sub to.Theres simply no competition for my money. So all you that support a f2p model go play F2p games.I dont care.Ill stick with the subs.Carbine at least seems to care what its audience likes and wants in an MMO and Im willing to give them my money every month.

False

People would still be playing SWG, but it was closed because of a conflict of interest and a lack of money coming in.

Money = Success to the business world. Rift is barely making any money, so they're not really successful.

EvE on the other hand, is making hand over fist with about 500,000 subscribers paying $15/month. So yea.....

So you have intimate knowledge of Rift Financials? I think not. The game is doing well. Tons of people playing when I'm logged in. Cant see that anything but successful. Its no different than SWTOR which is making money now that its F2P.

Totally disagree here. Game looks nice and destructible environments look anything but bland. WOW was a great game and is still fun.EQ2 is a great game and still fun but sorry I don't think it looks better than this. Everything in this game looks better than both of those games. But of course that's all opinion.
