Entropia Universe: Jon "NEVERDIE" Jacobs Opens New "Rocktropia" Planet
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/11/10 2:24:12 PM
And another post about entropia, and again some idiots start to shoot it. I will first state my point: As far as i am concerned it is the player that deposits huge amounts, and not MA as the company providing the free game that steals your money... If you enter a new game and spend a huge amount at once, either you don't care about the money (you have enough of it) or are just stupid. Remind me it's you when i meet you and i will tell you about my superduper project that will be so fun/cool/profitable... I am in EU since 2003, and have spent a few hundered dollar since. Yea, a lot, but still less than when i would have played some game with a $10 monthly fee. And my inventory still has about 50% tt value of deposited money. And i feel ok. And even as i don't play that active atm due to other priorities, i don't have to pay or lose my account. You are the master of your own desaster, or architect of the fun factor. I have met some good friends ingame, which are now even RL friends. Some even play without ever depositing a single $! And yes, the game had some down periods, like when they were preparing the V2 (crysis version), as the 'running' world missed some updates. But the game is still evolving. Missions will be there soon (ok, the current test drive missions i will ignore before someone shoots me for that/them). And the new world(s) will have to grow as well, both in size, as well in features. And no, i am no MA employee. I did not create this account to promote EU (even if i almost only posted for this game) and i am happy with my real life. And if you don't get a SGA after spending $300 in a week you should buy a smaller gun and find out what 'fun' vs 'playing big boy' is. Grow up! (now come and shoot this post) |

As a add-on... There only is one area in which it is possible to kill other players and loot them (grab their belongings). This is a toxic zone, for which you require a medic shot before entering. So don't expect to find any noobs there. It will be well skilled players and these are well armed when entering this area... And don't expect to have a friendly 'hi, do you mind if i kill you?'... Maybe afterwards :) All other area's have pvp in which killing others is for fun or for the 'most kills in a row before being killed' HOF-notify. And of couse the oil rig mentioned before... |

Entropia Universe: Entropia Pops Virtual Cork for 2007
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/29/06 2:19:44 PM
Well, a lot of comments from people that have never played and have 'heared' a lot of things. Nice they share their thoughts with us... But I play for 2 years now.And I like it. YeaYea, come on, give some nice comments on that... But as already sayed the game can be as expensive as you wish yourselves. I have played some other MMO's in the mean time as well. Those cost much, even if you don't play... Here you can go on vacation in the summer, and when you come back the only thing that has changed is that some bug have been solved, or the gui improved. And yes, you CAN drain a lot of money, but open all windows in your house and pump up the heating, and you are doing the same... For both the rule is valid: it is your decision. And for both it is correct: to have some fun (or heat in case of your house), expect to have to pay a bit. In EU at least there is a option to play for a low fee (or even free). And some are lucky (or saw the oppertunities, took the risk and initialy payed big) and now are making some money. I'm not one of those |

There is one way to make money ingame with an initial 'fund' (either via deposit or sweating): Trading Besides a lot of time and knowledge of market prices, no other items are needed. You also are not depending on hunting or mining results, which are 'controled' by Mindark. It is your own inteligence, use of statistics and 'feeling' that will detemine if you are successfull. Only possible drawback: if mindark introduces a new gun type, your current stack of items might drop in market price. Like with the introduction of the opalo gun happend to the jester-I. And after some time you will have some regular buyers/sellers, and more money so you can have more stock... |
