Well hell, since ShadowBane and MxO were shut down it's back to L2 for me.

I'd really love to see an MxO EMU but that last thing I remember from the boards was SOE refusing to release it. Oh well, I'll never forget the happiness this game brought me and the amazing people I met. <3 Recursion, <3 Syntax - RIP.  I miss you all.

I don't see an L2 clone coming out of this.. just by the gameplay video's you can see how different it is in it's entirety.

If you mean, will it have a grind like L2, then I would say definitely so, that's NCSoft's style. I've been a L2 player since C1, and I've tried Auto Assault, CoH, and Aion, and all of them are grinders one way or another. I can promise that it will have a similar leveling system, but everything else in my opinion will be completely different, raids and PvP included.

TH's are still important but there is no denying they're not what they used to be.

Within reason though, every class has been balanced so it's all what you want. A good example of this is the SK, orginally this was probably the worst class in the game, now it is arguably the best at 1v1 PvP.

You can play a TH and still have a good time, although if you're looking for a class that is just better than all the others for no reason, L2 doesn't have that anymore.

This makes the game sound balls to the wall amazing to me.

Devianne's population is starting to become a huge concern for me.

At the release of Gracia is spiked up a good amount but it's dropping again, and after playing on this server for years, I think it may be time to move to another.

I want to know which server would be the best transfer as well as any other players that may be on Devianne, just so I can judge how dead the server actually is.

Maybe the day of her passing, the boards and website could stop for that day. Make it her day permanently, I think she deserves that and I don't think it would be too much of a strain on the site.

NCsoft is trying way to hard to appeal to the horny gamer cliche, just go to the preview site for blade and soul and you'll see what I mean. I thought you couldn't go much farther than L2 with armor that couldn't cover less, but apparently I was wrong.

Half the things people post in this board aren't mmos.

Regardless, vSide is worth a look, although I recommend only joining if your a fan of hip-hop.

Otherwise, your out of luck in the musical side of the game.

The fact that I received no answer, decided the 'small' community.

The grind is hard, but for an obvious reason, 2x EXP cards in the cash shop. It pretty much forces you to use the cash shop, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

You can put out 25$ every 3 months and make your character look nice, and afford all the exp boosters you should need. Honestly the game is twice as good is you use the payshop and play past lvl 30.

All these people that say  'the game gets boring past 20' haven't even found sleepywood.

When it comes down to it, the game is free and you've got no reason not to try it.

I've thought about playing DAoC for a while now, and during the summer bore I figured it would be a good time to pick it up, but of course, I have some questions.

1. I hear the community is a bunch of pricks, is this true?

2. I also hear that the community is rather small at this point, is this true?

3. If this game is similar to any others, please tell me which ones.

4. Is there any chance for me to catch up to the other players in a reasonable time? (i don't want to hit max mid-fall and have no guild)

I'm without a doubt going to be playing the White Lion, but I'd like to get a few opinions on a build first (I know its still somewhat early to decide). The White Lion is a dps class that has a pet, a white lion (go figure)

The White Lion has three builds that I will sum up.

1. The Player and the pet are equal and go into battle striking multiple foes at once.

2. The Player draws all of the attention to himself and the lion bits them in the back.

3. The Lion draws all of the attention to itself, and the players buts the foes head off.

I personally think #1 would be the best, simply because #2 makes your pet somewhat useless (I don't believe this class is meant to be a tank), and #3 makes you a complete failure without your pet. I want both of us to be able to fight well, but work together.

What build do you think would be the best and why? I want you to base it on your own opinions and not what I'm looking for.
