Some rookie advice and lf potential "progression/lvling" partner
General Discussion « Darkfall: Unholy Wars 6/01/13 3:59:38 AM
Hello
I was a close follower about 9 months before DWUF release, but I never got to play on EU launch day. The MMORPG options are dry and I want to give this game a try. My focus will be PvP and thats where these questions comes in mind:
Is there any perticular places where I could level up quicker? I assume it's best to stay in safe zones till I've reached max in lets say dexterity as skirm?
I hear progression goes faster in a gorup, are there any other people who would like to give this game a try, perhaps we could group up?
Does macroing still happen? Will I be at a big disadvantage if I dont use this? And does it take "long" to get my dexterity up by doing things manually? |

I made this thread on the TERA EU forums. Obviously we all are playing this game because it has something that could be unique and keeps us entertained. For me that is the somewhat shiny graphics combined with the combat and arena. Many of the other features I like could be expanded on, but these are my main. I was thinking how MMORPG X would be if it had TERAs combat, for example World of Warcraft. |

My initial thoughts of The Secret World
Reviews & Impressions « The Secret World 3/22/13 5:44:21 AM
The game is great, however as stated in an official reply, the game doesnt support windows 8. Since issue 6 I've had increased lag and fps stutter, especially in dungeons or on pvp maps. This has been a big letdown because there doesnt seem to be any fix on the issue, if one is to take the general impression from the devs on tech forums. Others have had such issues on earlier patches as well, making the game unplayable. The fix is to go from dx11 to dx9, but having played dx11 since release itll be a noticable downgrade. Will return if they fix this though.

I see a lot of compaints towards global chat, but in EU it is due to lag of ingame GMs. I dont think they have a single GM to monitor chats, so people are able to speak out freely. Theres also continuing frustration towards Gameforge, such as nexus lag, and with no one monitoring then it's easier to see the negative side.

Suprisingly having a great time
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 2/12/13 8:57:50 AM
The stort has alwaya been the great part in swtor. But u wont b having such a great time at endgame, theres no reason to revisit the themeparkzones, pluss the only logical place to hang out is at the fleets. Sadly theres nothing to do there, i.e. dueling disabled

Originally posted by spookydom Was I quoting you? Is there any place in that post where I mentioned your name? I said shitheads can be found anywhere. You find them in SWTOR, WoW, Rift, Tera and so on. Being a shithead can mean many things, but I was merely pointing out Frogster's past treatment of their community, and lack of will to stop those who stepped to far (like on tera forums in the past). This has given growth to a certain community. Now when that is said, where in my original post did I say it was fine to act like a shithead? Not to mention where did I say I was pissed off at Frogster? I was merely stating my observations. If I were to make an assumption of you I'd say you assume to much. |

You will never experience the true force of Tera till you max lvl a loli
The community is whatever u make it to be. Shitheads can be found anywhere, though they are easier to spot in tera as they came with the Frogster-frustration (the great depression). |

You dont have sufficient data to maintain analysis level. This is more of a summary of some of the vague info that has been released, mixed with personal opinions. The devil is in the details.

So what's been some of the new feature that has you interested the most?
General Discussion « ArcheAge 1/30/13 11:21:30 AM
1v1 arena
|
|
|
yeah you'll fit right in Im eager to see when in this year Trion will launch it |
|

Archeage has everything you'd expect from todays MMORPG's, and also some unique systems - one being 1v1 arena. Any player type should fit right in as theres something for all. It does have linear questing (imo) which is meant as guiding to introduce you to the systems. All in all I would call it a sandpark - a mix of both. I would deff say more sand than theme tho

holy manoly! this is really great news.. as stated, trion is a great company that have proven themselves through RIft's rapid updates. The minor downside is the customer support serivce which has been a bit slow, but overall a good choice!

My issue with Rift is that the combat is so lackluster, those animations doesnt make you feel engaged. Second issue is that Rift is probably the perfect classic themepark MMO, a genre and direction I very much dislike.

A summary on the changes that are coming to GW2 in 2013
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 1/16/13 5:15:09 AM
Originally posted by allendale5 But if you are good, why do you need better gear? That is the vision of Anet by making everyone equal. Perhaps there should be other types of advancement, rather than improving gear stats. It makes sense, you get better over time, why do you need better gear - it creates an even larger gap between the newbies and longtimers (which isnt competitive). Different story in PvE and WvW though, which is fine. |

I honestly dont get why they havent gone more into new PvP modes, rather than stickin with capture the flag. They had nice pvp options in gw1, why not copy it

Originally posted by Kyleran Yeah that makes perfect sense, hence why it would make even more sense to have a restricted area in the Mist (where PvP interested folks are heading towards) that allows dueling. This game isnt about 1v1, but learning how to cope in 1v1 would strengthen you in teamplay. by mastering the oposing classes. |
|

I truly believe GW2 is a great game, especially compared with todays MMORPG market, not to mention the level of detail Anet has put down with this game. While they have a trong focus on structured PvP, I wonder if they've ever given any info about implementing dueling? I really dont understand why they haven't added this feature. It would be perfect in the Mist. Has there been any official words on this? |
