But for past 8 years people keep bashing down and degrading all new mmo's nomatter what developers trying its never good.

Well GW2 is different ALOT different and very good so i hope many will see beyond all the nonsens by others here who not even have played or bought the game and my gues is 80% just give there opinion here on forum about GW2 while they have not played 1 second lol.

I'm happy you are enjoying the game, really. Just realize everyone is entitled to thier opinion, good or bad. Have fun!

The game never said it would be revolutionary. But you can't deny it's not your usual MMO template.

 

 

This is BS. This game has always been hyped as the mmo that the genre needed and it would be different from everything else. There is a video from ArenaNet them selves saying this. Why make a post like this now when you have been reading all these hype threads for years from people claiming this would be the holy grail but you just let them do it?

I'm wondering when NCSoft starts giving away free pets in this game.

I will say this though, most "beta weekends" are not meant for extensive testing of bugs or game systems. They are simply stress tests.

 

I dissagree 100%. Towards the end of the series of Beta Weekends they wil make it open to the public {Like they have with Guild Wars} for the Sress test. This is a Beta Weekend NOT a stress test. It was posted nowhere it was a stress test.

And yet fans will insult you and flame you if you say it isn't a stress test.

Yes the low fps worries me, i know the game is being optimized but idk still worries me, i'm afraid it might not get that much better, had like 30fps average sometimes as low as 10+ when crowded and almost 50+ when no1 around on my core i7 920 @ 3.6ghz (hd5850)

To conclude, this might just be the best mmo i'v ever played!

swtor got back to me within about 12 hours of any ticket raised.

No number of posts like these will convince people otherwise because it's the vicious cycle of the MMO world. Then they'll play other games along the way, and talk about how much it sucks compared to MMO X that's coming out (even though they've never really played MMO X yet and are only being stubborn about any other game they play until then).

And then it happens, the day they finally get to play MMO X, but it will never live up to their expectations. Because they've created the game a million times in their head of what it's going to look like, feel like, everything, and it never lives up to their wishes.

It's like people who ALWAYS say "The movie was just not as good as the book!" Why? Because you've created that story in your head from reading the book that's perfect to you in every single way and nothing will EVER beat it, no matter how amazingly incredible that movie was, it will never be as good as that perfect story movie you've created in your head.

Same with MMO's. They will always be the saving grace of the MMO world until they are released.

I actually thought Jaws, the movie, was better then the book. I cannot for the life of me take any negative posts to heart when dealing with a new game still several months from launch. People need to lighten up and realize these types of games are constantly evolving and always will.

I do know they had better tweak the  hell out of the engine , as after TERA's speed of combat abilities firing off and no graphical lag at all even in mass PVP fights , I had immediate nightmare flashbacks of the crap engine of SWTOR (I know its not the same ) in GW2 the past few hours. I've seen TERA prove you can have lots of player on screen , in a battle , with zero slowdown , the tweaked U3 engine is amazing for it. GW2 feels the opposite atm , and the main thing I want to play GW2 for is the WvWvW battles with hundreds fighting.

I'll likely play maybe another hour tonight or two , but it has solved any issue of taking any time away from TERA for GW2 this weekend , as there is zero point in it.

I'll log in the next beta , and the next etc , but GW2 has to prove it can ramp server performance and the actual engine responsiveness much , much more than current. And possibly they can , as am/was looking forward to both.

Just right now , at this moment , TERA > GW2 for fun in every aspect , so why would I waste any time playing the less fun game.

I'm just hoping GW2 catches up in fun as I really want to play both.

Love this post.  I decided not to pre-purchase GW2 because I was impressed enough with what I'd seen from TERA, and after watching the streaming videos of GW2 and reading feedback from many people, I'm glad I didn't.  I'll be keeping an eye on it, and will most likely purchase it after launchto use as my second game after TERA, but as of right now, it seems I made the correct choice.  

I will also add, in GW2's defense, that it's a little unfair to compare a game in it's first beta event to a game that's been out for a year and a half, but...GW2 fans have been crowing about how that game is the Second Coming for so long, that they kind of deserve a little egg on the face for their vanity.

Preface to say, I'm a big Tera fan, however, I think GW2 is getting a very bad rap way to early to make any determination as to its fate. I am still going to purchase it in June or whenever it's released to form my own opinion. I believe as an aredent MMORPG fan, continuing to support these games is critical to their very existance. Shoot, it doesn't even have a subscription fee. I still play Monopoly for Cripes sake!
