Combination of GW2 and WoW sounds like an attempt at the most anti-fun game possible.

[Column] Scarlet Blade: Scarlet Blade... Really?
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/19/13 7:44:17 PM
Wasn't this game based on the Queen's Blade anime, and then later they changed the name? I thought it was still being advertised as Queen's Blade in Korea. If that's the case then what the hell is the problem? Saying this game is a huge step back for the genre compared to 100's of other shit games that are being produced is a load of BS.

You can only name one feature that for you is crucial as a player to enjoy in a MMO

Would you play a game that was nothing but "Endgame" content?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/17/13 1:55:49 PM
The whole grind to endgame mentality never hit me till every mmo decided to do hub questing ala wow. That shit has seriously ruined this entire genre. Just endgame is total BS. A game that is fun to actually play before level cap is a forgotten idea now days.

I care less about the cars and more about the fact they are riding horses without a saddle. How the hell does it makes sense to be in a full set of plate with a jousting lance while riding a horse bareback. A good breeze would blow those idiots off.

Should MMOs remove the death penalty?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/12/13 11:16:05 PM
They elicit an emotional response when you're close to death. If there is a heavy death penalty and you're on the verge of death your heart rate becomes elevated and the game becomes more fun. It's not people being masachist, but about actually having stimulation for your brain.

What is with all of this doom suddenly? The game is awesome!
Reviews & Impressions « Guild Wars 2 2/12/13 11:10:31 PM
Largest complaint I have with GW2 was just how easy the game was. It wasn't even fun because nothing was pushing me to try harder.

Currently over 130k viewers for a single stream

Pretty sure LoL has hit over 450k viewers on one channel during a tournament. Also seeing over 150k LoL viewers is common place now. I don't play LoL and I don't watch people play video games, but I watch the hell out of LoL tournaments. |

I was lvl 73 in the hardcore league a couple months ago, and I never felt the game was ever to difficult that I couldn't cope with it some way. It was awhile ago so I'm not to sure how much has changed in difficulty manner, but It's hard to imagine the game being to difficult. There were some places were transitions were rough between zones because of level difference and adapting to new mob mechanics I remember, but maybe because I played hardcore I always approched everything slowly and safely. All the top 10 guys in the ranking I played with never had any trouble either. If you're honestly having trouble in this game then you probably jacked up your build bad. |

Hoping for a lengthy campaign

Originally posted by zellmer People keep saying this, but I never waited for groups for more than 10-20 minutes. I mean how could you be sitting waiting for a group when there were 20 jobs to level? Find the party leaders for the different group levels and send them messages saying you were lfg for all the jobs you were leveling. Most of the time they would give you a eta on the next person leaving or simply they didn't need your job. If you were leveling up a less desired job at the time then you set up a static with your friends. I lvl'd 18/20 jobs to 75 just fine this way, and after a while people were sending me tells asking if i had anything i wanted to xp. I find it crazy that people couldn't make enough friends to always have lvling partners in a game that was as social as ffxi.

We'll never get another FFXI pre-abyssea style game. Just look at the comments in this thread, and you'll see exactly why. Everyone who played it like it was ment to be played say it was f'ing amazing, but the people who played it like WoW say it was a boring job. MMO's aren't just becoming dumbed down and casual... they are catering to kids that should be playing single player mmo's on coop mode. It's so hard to see an entire genre destroyed by punks that have no experience in what mmo's used to be. |

Besides Bugs,Balance, and Housing, how could GW2 be improved?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 1/29/13 8:44:22 PM
If the dev's could open the game options and move the difficulty slider from faceroll easy to hard it would help.

GW2... I feel like I voted with my wallet for a style of game that I ended up hating.

Originally posted by Sephiroso I'm know exactly what i'm saying... it was very hard for people to get into. I know that is shitty lol, and it's not like i'm trying to sell the game. I'm simply trying to explain as simply as possible some things about the game. The people who really got into FFXI all say the exact same thing - best mmo ever. |

Originally posted by Sephiroso That's about what I'd expect most people experience who played it for less then 6 months, and why It only had about 350k subs. The people who played it for about a year though got to experience the most beautiful mmo ever made. FFXI combat was like a ballet to those who spent time with the game. XP parties became something incredible fun that blow grinding quest out of the water. I almost never had to LFG longer than 10minutes because reputation... which actually mattered more than any other game I've played. |

Atlantica isn't bad for people who came from FFXI. It tempts you into spending money really well though so watch it. FFXI no longer exist in my eyes. Such a shame what happened to it... would go back and play this second if they opened a server that stopped with ToAU.

Originally posted by Matimusmaximus I think you need to play some more mmo's if you think non action games are just a spell rotation. Matter of fact the only mmo's I've played where your comment applies is WoW-style mmos. You'd have been /backlisted in FFXI if you asked that in chat haha |

Originally posted by Psychow OK, then PoE should charge 60$ for the box and charge for DLC they develop later. Or are they suppose to give you the game for free, not require online, and just charge for Vanity/DLC? Why do I feel like I'm the only person around here still living in reality? |
