I was telling people way long times ago that RIFT was going to be the best game over SWTOR before TOR's release.  Every one called me a nut and a loon. I dont think I was in the wrong with my comments at all.

And the numbers bear that out.  Oh wait...

I thought the Vanarch title was won through arena-style PvP, as opposed to battlegrounds?  Or are those two things the same thing in TERA?

You are free to believe whatever you want to believe, but do get out of the habit of derailing threads for no other reason. It is clear you hate guild wars 2 and that is fine but don't you have something else better to do than troll a game you hate? Also your stupid point would be valid if it wasn't for a little game called gw1 that worked pretty well enought to warrant a sequel.

The irony of this on a GW2 thread, from GW2 fans no less, is nothing short of sublime.

Happy anniversary to a very solid game.  After 5 years, it still has the most beautiful world and environment of any current MMO, in my opinion.  And although I no longer play it as my full-time game, I always find myself going back to it again when I'm missing that open world feel to a game environment.

Too little too late, stuff like this is not going to salvage their game.

What else will if not adding interesting content?

I guess just give up.  I mean, if the game isn't 100% perfect, even with over a million subscribers, might as well just pack it in and call it a day, instead of trying to improve it.  That's what I learned on these boards, at least.

Ofcourse 1 or 2 servers are queue'ing (I have seen that too this weekend), but what about all the rest of the servers that are practically ghost towns? Huh??

The reason why 1 or 2 servers are queue'ing is, because people still interested and not minding rerolling for the 10th time are moving to the few high populated servers left!

"All the rest of the servers?"  Are you implying that there are only a couple of heavy servers, and that all the rest are ghost towns?

Yes, there are some dead servers.  They are dead because Bioware caved in at launch and opened too many servers.  How is this different from any other MMO that has servers?  WoW has dead servers too.

But let's not go acting like every server save a couple are dead.  Last night there were more standard load and above servers than light servers.

When I logged on last night, there were a handful of light servers, a bunch of standard load, and quite a few heavy, full, and very full.  I even saw three servers that had queues.  Obviously the world event probably helped, and hiccups side, patch 1.2 was a successful one aside from the ranked PvP disappointment.

But, no, the game is not taking.

I'd like to know this too.  To be completely honest, the fact that there are no factions, and that open world PvP is FFA where anyone can attack anyone else kind of worries me.  I fear it will be  a gankfest.

Can someone who knows explain the flagging system to me for a PvP server?  I read that if you attack people out in the open world indiscriminantly, you gain an "outlaw" label or something like that in which it takes longer for you to "unflag," allowing you to be attacked more often by other players? If that's the case, aren't you constantly flagged on a PvP server anyway?  So is this really a deterrent?  Or does the outlaw label simply let everyone know you are a ganker?

Oh how little you know!

Last night I was with a World Boss raid to kill the new Boss in the FFA PVP area on Tatooine, and our Republic raid zerged the other Rep. players over and over to get the World Boss for us, hrhr. They were allies, but... in that place it didn't matter! XD

Haha, well at least they finally figured out how to get some open world PvP going, even if it wasn't intended, right?  ;)

#1:  Massively has been a pretty harsh critic of TOR since before it launched.  So they aren't exactly "breaking cover."  I realize your thread wouldn't be nearly as clever without that analogy though.

#2:  Am I missing something here?  Where in that "article" does it mention anything about declining subs?  Unless there is a link inside the article I'm not seeing, it doesn't mention declining subs at all.  It's simply a very short blurb on some of the issues the 1.2 patch presented, and what Bioware did to fix them.

Do you post BS hoping that no one will actually read the link?

I used the term "alluded to" deliberately based on their use of the term Tortanic in the title of an article. Massively voted SWTOR it's game of 2011 hardly "a pretty harsh critic"

They didn't even ALLUDE to it.  But since you are so keen on jumping to conclusions, maybe the term "Tortanic" is a reference to the issues caused by the 1.2 pathc.  You know...the actual subject in the blurb?  Or do you just think they'd reference something that they wouldn't even include in the article?

Lame attempt, man.

Yes, clearly they referenced a ship that had a slight glancing blow from a small ice cube and then sailed merrily on to New York.

Cute, but it doesn't change the fact that you deliberately posted misinformation about the contents of an article in order to push forward your agenda.

Either you don't read your own links, or you hope other people don't.  You got called on your BS.  Period.

I think that Ref guy must be a terrible person. His agenda is so obvious. Nothing he says can be taken seriously. No concept originating from Ref can sustain validity as it came from Ref. The interface with Ref disintegrates fact.

Finally some truth in this thread.  :)

The way I took all that is more like, panic ridden desperation.

The world event was a nice touch but why did it take getting busted on the ranked warzone scam, the backlash, piss poor knee jerking attempt to compensate, the backlash, how many botched attempts to launch the patch, the backlash, layoffs and actually having to admit TOR is not performing as expected going public, haters being right, for someone to sand up and say damnit everyone to work on Sunday, we're going to do something that actually means MMO?

Are you actually implying that the world event was a response to the above problems?  You do realize that this has been something they've been looking to add into the game for a while now, right?  They've stated that publicly, and said there would be world events beginning shortly after the 1.2 patch came out.  They stated this BEFORE the 1.2 patch came out.

Of course, it would have been nice to have this kind of stuff in from the beginning, but it's hardly an act of desperation.  It's a feature of the game they added in.  You guys read way too much into these things.

Impressive video.  The city looks real nice.  Now, can you show us a video of the loading screen when entering the city?

The Castanic race has ridiculous abs.

This thread has the potential to go very bad, but read it out...

I think it's pretty hard to deny that TOR's subs are dropping.  How fast is debateable but if one is to trust the data seen at, the numbers are only dropping overall.

Looking at the TOR forums, alot of the requests are for features that were in SWG and are likely not going to be seen in SWTOR because it's just not that type of game.  Things like more player interaction, explorable worlds, better space, better world pvp, etc.  Those asking for these are unlikely to stick with the game once the novelty of it wears off.

However, SWG was that type of game.  I'm well aware that this is just thinking in a "what if" scenario, but if SWG wasn't shut down, those that were not happy with those short commings in TOR could have enjoyed SWG and kept them in LucasArts' revenue.  Instead, they're leaving TOR and LA is losing their money.

While there are those that like to say that if SWG wasn't shutdown it would be a fairly empty game with TOR around as well.  However, I'm not so sure that would have been the case...

Let it go, man.  SWG was dying long before TOR was a twinkle in Bioware's eye.

Marry TERA (This is the kind of game you need to devote a lot of time to to be the best at it)

Screw GW2 (will be a nice, casual "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" every now and then when I'm bored)

Kill Planetside 2 (FPS shooter MMO?  Not only kill it, but kill it with fire)

Casual PvPers rejoice.

They just catered to the pve'rs with new content, and their next big scheduled patch is going to implement server vs server and rifts. OW WAIT SOMEONE FUCKING READ BEFORe POSTING AND iS INFoRMED???

Fucking moron trolls.

Just need to correct your post some, battle ground will not be in tera NA/EU at launch. It will be added late summer.

The irony is beautiful

More like he doesn't look like he knows much about Tera.

He didn't know that battlegrounds are not at launch.

He didn't know that rifts started last month.

He didn't know that server vs server won't be out anytime soon.

Oh my...

At least he knows the difference between hardcore and casual PvP.  <shrugs>
