EVE is a huge success, there is no reason why EVE set as a fantasy SB type game would not do equally well.

"Despite what some might say about today's MMO gaming sphere, I believe that we as gamers are pretty well-off these days. We are not starved for choices in MMORPGs, and there are many that cater to various genres and gameplay styles." Sorry I don't agree. The last couple of years of mmo releases have been horrid for gamers. Yes we have choice, but we have 100 different choices of a different variety of "the same thing". I haven't subscribed or played any mmo in the past 5 years for longer than a month. Why? Because I have been playing mmo's for 10 years. I have money to spend - but why level up another character in another mmo that is basically the same as the one I played last month or last year? I don't even care about getting to max level anymore to see if endgame is any different - because the leveling process for pretty well every mmo is the same. So why would I think endgame would really be that much different? If you want me to stay subscribed to a game. I need to be engaged. I need to have fun. I need to be challenged. I want to be social and make new friends. I want to have impact, be the hero - reshape events and the world I find myself in. I want to play the character I want to play, no restrictions. Let me build and customize my character the way I want. I think Eve is almost one of the most perfect mmo's ever created. If you put Eve in a fantasy setting I would play it and subscribe to it in a second.

My Cancellation Reason - and SWTOR's Response
Reviews & Impressions « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/19/12 11:15:59 AM
You leave a game because of lack of hi-res graphics? wow! Do you know how lame that sounds? And pvp, fix it enough said? If I was reading that - I would only know that you were dis-satisfied with it. I would have no idea what you mean by "fix it". As I can guarantee if you asked 100 players you would have 10 different responses. |

Disney shut down Faxion? Wow, I thought it was because of poor game play, bad pve, terrible graphics, a clunky UI and a piss poor implementation of PVP objectives (stand under a light pole for 5 minutes in sheer bordem). I honestly could not believe that one of the guys who worked on Shadowbane came up with that piece of dog doo. I think the reason Disney shut it down is because even though is was FREE to play - no one would play longer than a week. Yah it was that bad... Anyways the closest FUN epic pvp game to what you wnat is Savage 2 Amazing pvp.

I've tried playing the online version of Stronghold Kingdoms, I'm not too happy with how long the game takes to play out. More often than not, I log in for 10 minutes, manage my resources and army and then log out. I am looking for a game where I actually can log in for a couple of hours and actually play it. Instead of feeling like I am constantly farming resources and playing in spectate mode. I prefer Castle building - because of the look and feel as opposed to SC2 or similar titles. I don't like MS title AoE online, because you don;t get to build a castle.
Anyone know of a good castle building sim where you actually get to build a caslte raise an army and take over a map in online multiplayer? Thanks! |

How do you change companion abilities?
Questions & Answers « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/04/12 5:50:33 PM
I've noticed that my companion gets new abilities as I level - but I can't seem to figure out how to move them around. They seemed "fixed" on the mini bar and if you expand them. It seems I can turm them on or off, but not move them? The reason I'm asking is because in the mini bar for the companion you get 4 abilities. Can I switch these 4 out? If I expand the mini bar for my companion it takes over my whole bottom row - for my main chracter hot keys. Thanks.

My Opinion Piece on SWTOR.
Reviews & Impressions « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/02/12 1:28:21 PM
Until a AAA developer comes out with a game that has an actual end game - I will continue to bounce from game to game. I'll probably play SWTOR for a month or 2 and then play the next big release. Game devs just don't get it. Someone has to develop an endgame that is engaging, fun and has replayability. imo that's a huge open world with politics, building guild assets and then making those assets capturable or destructible. SWTOR should make a lvl 50 planet that is at constant war between the 2 factions - now that would be the game I would stay with. None of this instanced pvp crap. |

How come pvp servers are jammed full?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/23/11 5:57:42 PM
Whenever there is a post on this site about pvp servers - the majority of people complain about getting "ganked"/"griefed", how it's "dying" and no one likes to do it. None of the major AAA titles have given what players want - which is wide open world pvp with destructible assets. (DF and Mo don't count) Now someone will post how pvp is dying, and all the other crap they post. But try logging into a SWTOR pvp server. Their full. While the pve servers are "light".

Sentinel or Guardian what's best CC pvp build?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/23/11 1:29:47 PM
I play a knockdown warrior in GW1 and really enjoy the interuption aspect of the class/build. I have been looking over the Sentinel and Guardian advanced classes/trees and I was wondering from players who have been playing what your thoughts on a good Advanced Class / Tree would be for someone who likes to keep ranged classes within hitting range (spammable snare?) and a couple of interupts or stuns. DPS and Tanking are secondary as I mostly enjoy the CC aspect. Maybe post a link to a Youtube video you've made or a build. Thanks! ps - If you play a Sith Warrior feel free to chime in. I can cross reference the abilities.

Recklessness a short "buff" you have to keep recasting?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/21/11 1:43:52 AM
I'm trying to decide between playing a few different classes. I've only played the Sith Sorc up to lvl 4. One of the things that bugs me is the short range of his lightning attacks (10m). I notice at lvl 8 he gets a spell called Recklessness that increases the range of Force Lightning to 30m, but it only lasts 20 seconds. Is this a spell you continually have to cast in your spell rotation even at higher levels? Thanks.

BioWare Sabotaging Jedi/Sith Classes to Force People to Roll Non-Force Users?

Why don't you go play Hello Kitty Online - I hear the bosses are soloable in that game :p |

nvm, got my answer. So are the classes Sith Juggernaut and the Jedi Guardian exact mirrors of each other? |
|
|
Hi all, I have not played in Beta and of course I'm not sure if the SWTOR Wiki is uptodate or not. 1) Does the Sith Juggernaut get access to 2 seperate leaps on 2 seperate cd's? Sith Warrior Tree - Force Charge and In the Rage line - Obliterate.
So I'm trying to make sense of the different abilities between Jedi Guardian and Sith Juggernaut. The Jedi Guardian can train a 2 sec stun from the Defense Tree (Force Clap) 2) Do Sith Juggernauts get access to a similar ability? Thanks All.

If you were unable to "grasp" that from my post, I suggest you go over to the forums for Hello Kitty Online where the questions are more suited to your reading and comprehension level. |

I haven't played in Beta, from what I understand the Sage class is a healer. What is the mirror class to the sage? Can someone explain to me a little bit of their gameplay - is there an offensive healer class or advanced tree? I don't mind healing as required, but I do like to do lay a little bit of smackdown as well. Thanks!

Share your personal guild drama experiences here!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/06/11 10:04:11 PM
I used to be a GL for a guild in WoW, I had this new "girl" character join the guild and "she" got somewhat chummy with me. We didn't have vent so everything was text at that time. (yah a long time ago) One night we were doing a quest together and "she" started saying stuff, sexual stuff - and I said to "her" wtf are you doing? And "she" goes well I thought we could have some fun... I said... why? You're a guy... and he/she goes "no I'm not..." and I said yes you are and I know it. And he/she said how? And I said no chick says shit like that, only dudes talk about sex like that, so knock it off. I was pissed - how gay would have I felt cybering with some dude pretending to be a chick? I kicked him out of the guild. I hate guys who play female characters in games, cause now everytime I meet one - I think of that guy. |

My opinion, you can call it a wake up call
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/21/11 11:48:09 PM
imo SWTOR and Rift did barely enough to just say their different. I will play SWTOR for as long as I played Rift - about a month. As long as players accept this kind of dull unimaginative same old same old - that's what we will continue to get from game developers.
