"but that's a great way to ruin any kind of journey the game has to offer."

Why do you think that?

Every single person who plays the game has the option to NOT take advantage of that feature.

If you don't want to do it - don't.

There could be someone like me with 4 maxxed out characters who enjoys the game but simply does not want to grind up another character.

What a terrible trailer.

I used to be interested in the game - but that trailer just put me off.

I have to laugh when I read half of these responses. There are a TON of people who are neither carebears nor die hard pvpers - I would say most people are smack dab in the middle.

And thats why their generally not attracted to games like Darkfall or SB - because there is no pve. And their generally not satisfied with WoW or Warhammer because there is no real consequences for pvping.

As a pver I want Dragons and raids - I want lore and a story.

SB and Darkfall don't have it.

As a pvper I want meaningful pvp like SB that directly and specifically affects the game world that I play in.

Wow and Warhammer don't have it. It's pointless pvp.

No game has ever combined pve and pvp successfully imo.

When a dev does that - they will become the new WoW.

I fail to see how the patch addresses the fact that the game is a boring grind.

Maybe you can explain it to all of the haters out there.

I played a reaver, but I'm thinking this go round I'd like ot play a good support class.

A buffing class with some healing, maybe some CC and decent survialbility.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Also what server has good pop?

Pretty well sums up my thoughts.

Have fun.

I have been looking through the different skills: melee, pistol, rifle and dodge.

There's a couple of others - but there doens't seem to be much variety in attacks, etc...

Am I missing something here?

What makes the game fun? I like character customization - seems most people go with very similar builds.

1) Are the powers available to players innovative like the powers in CoH/CoV? I've been going over the ability list and they don't seem to be that interesting compared to mastermind powers or defender powers from CoH.

2) I've noticed that even though you are free to build your character any way you want, I notice most builds don't - it seems like there are artificial "restraints" and most people tend to stay within the archtypes when building a toon. Thoughts?

3) Do the powers have animation times like CoH/CoV - one thing I hate about CoH/CoV is that is for instance when you are playing a fire tanker, when you use his sword power it "draws" the weapon - is CO the same?

Thanks all.

Sorry Dana I comletely disagree.

MMO's are not evolving the way players want them too - they are evolving the way publishers want them too.

Maybe good for you or them, but hardly good for us.

I have been trying to play Aion, but I can only take one step before rubber banding - very frustrating.

I live in Canada and I use a broadband connefction.

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

meh...

I really don't understand why we need another mmo - that doesn't do anything to make a significant improvement over whats available now.

Wouldn't a Templar be a better choice over a Glad? Or is it just that your friend happened to be a gladiator?

Templar has the pulling ability that would seem to be an excellent way to control other players for group pvp.

Thoughts on Templars?

I think LOTRO would be a good game for you

Hi all,

I was one of the first to line up and purchase Vanguard, I think I lasted 2 weeks. I, like a lot of others was really disappointed in the game.

Recently I resubbed because I was bored with WoW, AOC and Warhammer.

So why am I staying with Vanguard now?

1) Brotherhood experience

My chief complaint around mmo's is that I want to play with my friends, not out level them. I don't want to solo in mmo's - I play mmo's to group and play with friends. Most games I can never keep at the same level as my friends - either they would be ahead of me or I would be ahead of them. So one of us would end up "redoing" content or playing with the dreaded "pick up group" (PUG).

In Vanguard you can join a Brotherhood with your friends so while you are logged off every exp you get from killing mobs or quests goes directly to your friends exp bar at the same rate. I have 2 good friends who are all at the same level as me and we love it. We get to hang with each other and not worry about who is logging in and who isn't.

2) The combat system is fresh, fun, lively and interactive.

3) Classes are extremely well done - healers actually have some oomph!

4) You can see for miles - and the game world is seamless and gorgeous.

5) The content is there. They've just added a new patch and raised the level cap to 55.

6) Extremely good community - very helpful - lots of free buffs, great grouping game.

Last year was a huge disappointment for me in mmo releases (AoC and Warhammer) were both huge let downs.

If you are looking for a good game I would really reccomend giving Vanguard another try - it has improved many times over.

Look me up ingame I'll give you some major buffage!

Seradon

Zigmond

Hi all,

New player - I am looking for the best dungeon crawling class - that can play in fairly tight quarters, handle adds - etc and kill fairly difficult mobs.

I was thinking about necro (do they do well in dungeons?) psi or a disciple.

Thoughts?

There is not one single game I am looking forward to.

Their all the same old rehashed tired formula.

I wish someone would make a fantasy setting/type EVE game - I'd play that in a second.

I just want a game which has the following:

Open skills - let me be whatever I want to be

Live Content - Companies should hire students to play ingame boss mobs

Open World - RVR / Castle Seiges - that is meaningful to the world/your guild and yourself

Dungeon Crawling/exploring

Let me and my friends slay dragons

Make is easy for me to find groups

Take away the grind, make the game fun and all about endgame

Grpahics although important do not make up for poor game play or poor game design.

Most of my points gamers have been making forever, unfortunately game companies don't listen to well.

Savage 2 is the mmo that isn't a mmo that I have always been looking for.

Once you play Savage 2 you may never go back to playing mmo's...

Yes it's that good.

Savage 2 is the game you are looking for - ROCKS!

I have to agree if you like pvp it's a great game!

2 thumbs wayyyy up!
