What does TESO offer that GW2 does not?

The way i see things is very simple... i'm paying for entertainment, let me explain. For example, when i go to the cinema in my country i usually spend around 10 euros f(movie, popcorn, etc), in one night. When i pay a monthly fee for MMO's i have entertainment for 30 days, if you do the math it will be a very small amount per day. This example could be applied to other things just use our imagination. And yes i prefer to pay a monthly fee because i've had terrible experience with F2P & B2P games. Normaly you have better CS, you aren't constantly reminded that you have to unlock or buy X or Y feature in order to continue playing or improving your experience. I understand the people who don't want to pay for a monthly fee, i truly do, but please stick to your ideals. I know some guys which are truly annoying, they are constantly saying things like "paying monthly fees is dumb" yet they've played several monthly fee games and some even bought games at launch and never installed them. Hilarious i know.

Probabaly trion, because they've built a great game with a low budget and continue to provide a great service. I can only image what they would do with a 200 million budget.

I'm trying RIFT Lite and im having a blast... i used to dislike the setting of the game, but its growing on me. The game is just full of features and content and it was released a year and a half ago, pretty incredible!

Originally posted by DeniZg Once you enter a planet in SWTOR you don't have more loading screens, the only problem is that their enginners did a bad design on the game, so their loading screens are long. GW2 loadings are smaller... still with my computer (which is pretty good) some take from 10 to 15 seconds and with the travel system they have in place the only way you don't have a ton of loading screens is if you don't use it. So basically both are poorly done! From the recent games i've played only TERA manages to have a seamless world and with some of the best graphics, if not the best in the market. |

Originally posted by Jenosyde SWTOR a terrible game? thanks for the laugh. Why can't people just say "It's a good game, just not my thing". I also don't like GW2, for me it's one of the most boring MMO's i've played. Yet i don't come here saying "this game is garbage". You want to know what's terrible?! I'll tell you, it's the MMO community. A bunch of spoiled brats who can't see anything improving or growing with time. |

I'm currently enjoying SWTOR. But i would like a next-gen MMO to have these features: - Huge seamless world (no loadings). Not a sandbox but not a themepark either. A mix between the two! - Open world PvP zones, something similar to warhammer online. No instanced PvP. - A new type of combat. It could be either an MMORPG with FPS elements, something similiar to borderlands and firefall. Or maybe something similitar to TERA but alot more polished! - Meaninful crafting, were players would have to cooperate in order to get things done. With a market place where people would be able to rent buildings and then after create shops to sell their items, instead of an AH. - PvE with a mix of classic quests, dynamic events and open world dungeons. No more instances. These are some of the things i would love to have in future MMO's. Unfortunately nowadays, everything is instanced. And sandbox MMO's aren't fun for me either. Like i said a mix would be perfect. |

[Review] Guild Wars 2: Raising the Bar
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/05/12 7:04:18 AM
This review is pure garbage. I miss the days were people would actually be impartial. I've been playing MMO's for a long time and none of them ever got me bored after one week like GW2 has. GW2 is great on the visual presentation, but that's pretty much the strongest point of the game. I would rate this game 8/10, nothing more, nothing less and that's because it's a b2p game. If it was p2p i would give it a lower score. But i have to say... If the future of MMO's is: - Having instances all over the place instead of having a true open world. - Having a teleport system that makes the game lose immersion and also makes the player lose the sense of the size of the world. - Quests that are repetitive has hell, even worse than standard quests like in WoW. Dynamic events that are nothing but a zerg fest and have no true incentive to group up. - Lack of interesting combat, mostly because there isn't a trinity system in place. - No true open world PvP. Instead you get instanced PvP with tons of zerg fests (WvW). Then im done with MMO's for a while. Maybe in 2 or 3 years there will be a MMO worth having my attention again, and maybe truly innovative unlike these games that have been coming out in recent years. PS: And i have to say, i've had a good laugh when i read the "Fantastic Story" in the positives of the game. |
