Still no Aion back home? Booo. I was gonna play it tonight, but my girl wanted to play tetris instead. hhaha

I couldnt get a good feel for it, because i only had an hour or so. my korean pal was helping translate, but he was planing starcraft so he didnt help too much.  From the little bit i saw, it's the same style of game that was made popular by WoW.  the  UI, the controls, questing( low lv) anyway. Really pretty though, and i sense there wil lbe a bit  of a grind in it. I enjoyed it though, and il lbuy it when it comes out in english

Haha, I've never seen "Need for Speed", and I know it because I've been in Korea (with their godforsaken time zone) for a year and a half, and like half of my friends are Korean-American(and Canadian).  But seriously, I hagte being this close to the game, but not being able to play it.. its even free!! Well, there is the charge for the pc room, but still..

No, I didn't get to play. But I got to cry because of it. Sooooo clooooose. Just gotta find another Korean friend that likes video games(shouldn't be too hard...).

Haha  I am a dirty westerner... yeah the rules suck, since im not korean... and a gyopo(not sure bout the spelling) is a korean raised outside the country

So I was headed to the local Westerner bar this evening, and on my way up, I see a big cardboard cutout for AION. Noramlly, I wouldn't look into it, but since I was with a gyopo buddy of mine, who could translate, I figured I'd go check it out. So we go  into the pc bang, i co to a nice widescreen comp, and decide to laod it up. Up comes a login screen, but the guy said it was free so i start making an account(with my firend's help). It comes to the point where I need a Korean social insurancce number, but my pal is a citizen so we are all good. I make the account, log in, and there's some other nonsense. We couldn't figure it out, but the clerk helps us, and my buddy just has to throw in his cell number.  But, alas, I'm not destined to get the scoop on the game for you all. the cell number is used to verify the social insurance number, and his phone is in his cousin's name. DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you not read my post ? That's exactly what I said. It seems Wow has soemthing for the illiterate too. I don't hate WoW. Judging by the vehemence of your defence of your game though you are clearly a "Fanboi".  And every game( just about ) has more difficult things about it. you can barely attribute that, in that simple context, as a reason for a games sucess. And why do you keep bringing up your dad? and if you are old enough  to have a 78 year old father, and a son who can play a MMO, why do you say things like "epic fail"?

edit. this is in response to post #23

Why subs just keep growing - even now - ....

1. My father plays it and he's 78

2. My son plays it and he's 15

3. My brother plays it and he's 37

4. Why? because it's the player who decides WHAT and HOW he plays. (don't ask my father to join arena :) ) but he's the best in fishing).

-----------------------

Open seamless world you all live in and fly over.

Smooth and fast control of your avatar

Low system computers (although forget that in the new patch - graphics update demands WAY out more now).

//// MOST important factor ----> the competiton sucks B I G (letting Wow grow further from the demise of other fantasy games VG, TR, AoC, ....).

I agree with most all that's been posted, but freedom in game can not be used as a part of WoW"s sucess, considering how limited you are in choices of what you can do.

The key, is the overall ease of all aspects of it (easy to get into, easy to play, easy to advance, easy to find enough time for, easy leveling, easy to have a comp to play it on, etc...) for the masses, and the endgame grind for the grinders. Something for everyone.

It's pretty simple really. The company execs made a pact with Satan. He tempts us weak willed folk, and in return, he gets all of our souls.

crying to me = what i just explained was happening. My buddy played preist to 70, and it was cake.  unhappy about that being made a bit harder? makes you a crybaby.

If we are gonna make weak arguements against the OP, why not this one against you guys? It's also the #1 best selling games  with the initials W A R? Come one guys, if you cross out all the competition, of cours its gonna be #1. No consoles, no non-mmos, no pre-orders, then what are you stacking up against? what else has benn released? AoC? aWe could all out do that. As for the " WAR is over 500k in sales so far",  we got that from LoTRO too. And how awesome is that?

I like when people cry about there too easy game not being so easy anymore.

These are the new wave of Massively Singleplayer Online Games, complete with the ability to have others play it with you.

Forums are a place people can post how they feel about a game. you  don't care that they don't like it? Well do you think they care what you think? what I'm sick of is people telling people what to do, that their way of thinking isnt allowed here. You don't  want to hear what they say? don't click on the link. that said, I wanted to hear what you had to say haha. But honestly, I don't even think I've seen any unhappy posts yet, not really anyway.

I'm sold. Now I guess all I have to do is decide what job to level now...

Thanks for the help.. jerk.. just kidding.. I need some input from active players though.. I don't know what to dooooooooo

Hey, just wondering how the game is going. haven't played in 6  months thinking bout coming back for a bit. server populations still ok? many new players coming in? hows the newest update treating everyone?

thanks

So im enjoying the loremaster alot, ive been doing nothing but soloing at these levels it seems not many want to group. So im thinking ok maybe later levels it will be differant, later on I decided to ask in advice channel and more then one person told me that in this game everyone wants to do there own thing and only group when they have to, while in forums people swore that this was mostly a grouping game.

I am not happy about this at all I finally found a really good mmorpg but lacks the grouping community I enjoy so much, it seems these days city of heroes is the only game like this. Part of the reason I quit wow is because the pugs where horrible and everyone wanted to solo, if I want to solo I could play my damn console and my ds im sorry but im so frustrated with this crap.

Solo is extremely lame in my opinion, sure it should be avaialble because we all do from time to time but its not fun in a pve online game geeeeeesh!. In pvp games its understandable but pve? Come on.

If you like to group ALOT ffxi is the game for you :D

He's right. You almost always have to group. But ffxi is a bit more in depth and challenging than most games out there now, so prepare to work at it if you try it.

most likely due to a lack of general interest in sodomizing young boyz outside of the catholic priesthood anyway.  but ya that was the big thing back in ancient rome/greece, the whole man boy love thing.  personally unappealing to me.

Holy homophobe.. Where did that come from?

On another note, I was so pumped for G&H: Rome Rising. Has tons of potential, with the expansions being other parts of the world. But they dumped it :(

Ancient Egypt is a good idea too, they have one called A Tale in the Desert 3, Which is definitely an interesting, crafting based sandbox type, but the masses don't dig that kind of thing, and I guess there were problems with paying (not sure what).

I would love to see a (sandbox- type)  MMORPG based in some relatively interesting historical era. I have a few different ideas that are definitely not mainstream, but I'm not in the business of making games, so that doesn't matter.

Besides, the industry has been pulled away from what it was, no more niche games. This  past round of games has proved that to be competitive in the market now( not that many are), you have to follow the current mainstream model to be successful. Games cost a ton to make, too much to aim for a 200,000k sub base, especially when all investors think of is the money WoW makes.

I still say that sand boxes are the true MMORPGs.  I was of the opinion that the draw to the genre originally was to play games that werent so limited, that you could do anything in.
