Im not saying more people is bad. Im saying we dont need as much as people think. Eve survives with last I checked about 400k-500k players in a world of games with 1-10 million players. Just because your population is lower doesnt make it a bad game nor does it nessicarly effect gameplay.
You can be bad, thats not the problem. Its the bad players who dont want to get better! If your willing to learn and adapt then your really not a bad player, your just new and learning the game. Im talking about the winners that want the game catered to them and refuse to learn to play better |

Originally posted by SlickShoes But as a player do you want "more players" or a "better" game? Eve is a good example of this. They tuned the game to id say about the top 20%. The bottom 80% complaiend and bitched but that didnt matter. The game thrived and is considered one of the best most well balanced and mature communitys out there. You also find a lot more intellegent people in eve due to this.
When games start thinking about "more players" and less about a skilled challenging game it always goes downhil. Simple examples: Cod,WoW,Battlefield. All great games that over time and new released started focusing more on getting players in the game then making the game itself good, and quality wise have suffered for that. Ow but damn this game has x million players, it must be good <--- bad logic, its normally the opisit.
Games should reward getting better. Not reward playing like crap over and over and over. People do the same thing and fail multiple times. But instead of trying something new they say its broken and cry about it till "there" way works. getting better should be a goal of players AND game design. Lazy people shouldnt be catered to. I agree you can have a lot of fun if you are bad at something.. But lets use your own example. should the rules of soccer be changed so you can be better at it? The obv answer is no. So should a game be made easier just because a lot of people are bad at it? no |

So this is about a 20min discussion/rant about the War Z community (not so much the game itself). Everything I talk about here can be found in the public forum sections and has no actual War Z footage (so this does not break the nda!). Some will agree some wont, that cool bro. Thats one of the awesome things about this world we live on, everyone has a different view of things, so keep that i mind kiddos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkHOwHAxVE0 <--- Watch or why are you here?
I would love to have a debate/discussion about some of the subjects I bring up (key words debate/discussion NOT a argument). Very interested in your thoughts on it all. Im just so worried the WarZ devs are going to listen to the flood of complaints (not even bugs, just complaints) coming in and take them as what the community wants, THEY ARNT! Most (not all) of the intelligent people are not even bothering to post as they dont have the time for the flame war that is bound to come of it.
NEVER base a games design around the low tier of players, it will never work. As I said in my video could you imagine dota/lol/sc2 (whatever competitive game you watch) if they were based off the low tier lol, it would be horrid. (simple example. sc2 shortly after release: 4 gate needs MAJOR nerf, omgz the 4 gate is sooo OPPPPP). Then what happened? The competitive pros slowly (it did take awhile lol) learn ways around 4 gates and how to stop them and got to a point (before nerf) where a 4 gate wasnt even a good viable option anymore in competitive play. Things take time, and things need to be examined by the best before you can say theres something wrong. MANY games went the way of designing there games based on the lower tier of players and where are they now???? Exactly (im sure there are a few good/fun lower tier based games but thats not the point. We are shooting for the top not the bottom)
I myself have fallen into the "rage mode" and started unloading on some of the idiots yesterday. Just relax and let yourself cool down before responding to the idiots or better yet, dont respond at all. As for my "rude" comment I made yesterday sorry, I guess. I stand by what I said but I really should have just bit my lip and said nothing. But yea. Enjoy the video and leave your thoughts below guys. Also as I said remember, everyone's going to have a different view. Dont get mad at them for it K? :o:o:o:o:o:o **Added because its a good argument on the subject*** Games should reward getting better. Should the rules of soccer or football be changed so you can be better at it? The obv answer is no. So should a game be made easier just because a lot of people are bad at it? no I expect more dislikes on the video then likes (as due to my whole "most gamers are bad" theory) Meh. My ego is so hurt! :D lolz

You have never needed a nvidia card for physx. ANY game with physx you can have it offloaded to the cpu instead taking a identical performance hit as if I had a Nvidia card, less actually. See Physx on cpu sucked back on dual and single cores. Now adays with 4-12core cpus its not a issue. So dont buy into the Nvidia hype. You have never needed a nvidia card for physx, nor will you ever. Game devs just lock the option out for us AMD guys but a simple ini change fixes that. Enjoy!

Search for:
PhysXLevel
Change
PhysXLevel=0 (low)
to either:
PhysXLevel=1 (mid)
or
PhysXLevel=2 (high)

http://youtu.be/lucxv4LIlDw New updated video for 80 and WvW
*new* http://youtu.be/lucxv4LIlDw This is my SA build (Save Adrenaline) for level 80. I explain what to stat into, what traits to grab. And of course why your taking these things in the first place. All in all you keep a 50%+ crit at all times and even hit 80% on the right rotation. You also can focus more on the battle and less on your health pool since your hp is always regen'ing at a fast rate. *old* MoAcSFztHos Simple warrior build for leveling I have been using. Really easy to use as its a very passive ability build. Lots of hp regen while holding a high dps/crit still. I forgot to say this in the video but you want to gear towards power and crit, as you only need the passive hp regen to survive. I have tried going full tank and full dps and both resulted in small improvement for each department (no shit) but it was a small 10-20% gain, for for a 100% loss in the other department. What im saying is atm this game plays much better with a hybrid spec imo. Is it worth losing all defensive abilitys/stats for a 10% increase? or vise versa? I certainly dont think so. Not sure on its pvp viability. I only did a few matches with this build but it felt good. The fact I could basicly ignore my hp and just focus on the fight is kinda nice and allowed my eyes to relax a bit ^_^ Same goes for WvWvW. The lack of condition removal kinda hurt at times though. Enjoy |

Video of new map in DayZ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM_shJRvmy4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM_shJRvmy4
So after looking around the forums I found what seems to be (correct me if im wrong) the only other working playable map for DayZ. The map is called Lingor Island and has a Vietnam feel it it. It was a ton of fun to play. And dont worry about this effecting your regular DayZ save. You will spawn right back where you were before. As for servers there seems to be about 4-5 RU servers hosting this. I had a lot of ping issue though so we really need some US host to get it on there server. Have a look and give it a try yourself, instructions below. Link to download and install Installation: 1. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?cu6rhqpqf4vfb59 and http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10792 2. Extract the folders (@lingor and @dayz_lingor) to your arma 2 OA install directory (the same place the @DayZ folder is) 3. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?adf3f1fef5og91a and extract the file (Lingor_sounds.pbo.lingor14.bisign) to the @lingor/addons folder 4. Copy the beta arma shortcut and add this to its properties -nosplash -mod=@DayZ;@lingor;@dayz_lingor 5.Have fun! |

Guild Wars 2 - Beginners Guide to Crafting and Gathering

A simple look into crafting. Hopefully helpful to new players who have no idea how to start crafting but want to give it a try. This was a new type of video for me so any feedback would be fantastic, positive or negative.
For those who dont want to view the video (I know a lot of people wont view videos posted on forums) here is the ROUGH transcript for the video. It is in NO WAY a 'full clean' script, just something I could use to keep me on track while recording.
Ok lets not waste any time and hop right in. A Guild wars 2 basic crafting guide. this will be a fast run through of how to start crafting in gw2. The reason I feel its important is because unlike a lot of mmos (not all) but a lot of mmos you get xp for gathering/mining nodes, and Its not a small amount either. Just gathering nodes over a 10min period on my way around doing quests I got a few bars of xp. I even at one point ran across a farm field with I kid you not like 15-20 cabbages all together, which resulted in about a whole bar of xp in 25seconds lol. Another reason crafting is more note worthy in guild wars 2 is because the stuff you start crafting right of fthe bat is useful. I was level 10 after clearing most of the starting human area and buying random rep gear, when I went to start crafting. The very first 'items' I could make we equal and in a few cases even better then what I had from questing and rep. I have no idea how useful it will be down the road near end game times but just for the bonus xp and bonus items I really feel for once crafting is worth it. So lets have a look real quick at the basics to start crafting. First you will want to go to your local hub of crafting vendors. There are a bunch scattered throughout the world but the best place to tell you to go is your local major city or lions arch. You can pick up a total of 2 crafting professions. You can pick from *READ BOTTOM BOLD* After you have picked the 2 you want for the time being go in and have a look at the starting recipes so you have a idea what u need to gather. Now most areas near crafters have npcs selling some crafting items, so you can get a bunch to start there. You will then want to go buy a pack (1 for now, which I believe is a stack of 50) of hatches,sickles,mining picks. You will then want to equip these item by right clicking them in your inventory and clicking equip. These items dont have anything to do with your weapons. you can have your weapons equipped and all 3 gathering tools equipped at the same item, as the crafting tools use there own special invintory slot. Now go out into the world and start gathering. There are obv locations for certain gathering nodes. Mining nodes tend to be near rocks and hills and cliff walls. Trees, well... tend to be near other trees lol. and produce tend to be on farms but will grow in many places, but the majority are on farms it seems. Most importantly all gathering nodes in a small area around you will be revealed on your Minimap, so keep a eye on your minimap when running around. ALSO take note that for now in the current beta the nodes 'seem' to spawn in the same locations, so once your learn there spots you can go back there later. Also from what I experienced other players can gather nodes and you will still have access to gather them. There where times I would see a player grab a node before me but when I got there 10sec later it was still available. Finally you can also salvage unwanted equipment using salvage kits (available at most merchants) which will yield you more mats for crafting as well. Now that you got a bunch of mats go back to town and start crafting! I was just starting to level my crafting up so atm I dont have access to any neato recipes, but it works like most mmos crafting systems. Get mats, take to a crafting location, hit button and bam it creates the item. no sweat There is also a a section where you can mix and match different crafting mats in a attempt to learn a new recipes. I didnt have time to delve into that so I cant give you much info about it, for the most part seems to be a guessing game/luck. I wouldnt worry much about it though as im sure there will be 100s of websites in a few weeks with all the mats/recipes,and how to get said recipes. So personably il wait for them or maybe try to find some myself later in beta. For now I really dont care much about them and just want to play the game :D

The fact you just called act 1 inferno easy when thousands upon thousards of players cant even get out of nightmare or hell difficultys shows how stupid you are. You were prob massivily over geared or did it in a group (or used the wizard shield bullshit) |
