The difference in graphics is just the settings of the persons computer. The better the hardware (and mind you it doesn't require great hardware) the better it looks. Same as many other games; however, it can also run in a very low graphic mode for access with very low end machines. They are the same game, just running different modes. The game is free to play and doesn't require a download; if you're curious go check it out. |

Also if you're interested in playing this game, it is now abandonware so you can legally get a copy at http://dosgamer.com/witchaven-/ just register there. |

That is Witchaven if I'm not mistaken. EDIT: Only one "h" incase you google it and run into trouble again. |

What game would you save before 2012?

Torchlight, because I could just run the endless dungeon or use the editor to create other stuff to do. Either way I could stay busy till my grey matter melted out my ears. |

No trouble, once you've isolated a game you maybe interested in, remember that each game has it's own forum here and at it's homepage. Also, to avoid feeding trolls, search before you post questions about gameplay. In general trolls find people who are new or just interested and devour them before they have a chance to ever really experience a game. Finally, always take every post with a grain of salt; some people have been burned, some people can't be pleased, and some simply are outright fanboys. Any of these people can turn into a troll in a moment. An excellent guide to avoid the trolls can be found at the mortal online forums: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/24406-troll-killers-guide-how-kill-forum-troll.html I inform you of this because (as stated before) trolls love newbies. |

Excellent place to start is in that thread. |

Originally posted by Arndur Did you disconnect the keyboard and mouse at the same time as the Zune? If so, reconnect them and try booting again. You shouldn't get the keyboard and mouse error, and without a zune or external HD of any kind connected the other error should go away as well. |

Originally posted by Loke666 Same thing I was thinking; IPod or any other sort of mp3 player or external HD. If you're like me and just like to leave your mp3 player plugged in when you're not using it, but have auto shutdown at 2:30 a.m. after antivirus does its thing. Just change the boot order (sometimes USB is just another option but most motherboards I've worked with, it's in the boot order listing) to either exclude USB boot. You can also move it beneath the hard drive itself so it never gets that far (save for extreme circumstances). That way when you wake up and kick the thing on, you're not staring at the error while still half asleep. |

It's been awhile sense I've used XFire, but if I'm not mistaken if a game isn't auto-detected you can simply browse for the .exe of the game from that same menu option. Just look in your Sony directory and then into each of the respective game directories for the launchers. |

I'm not going to pretend to understand all of that, but I think he is excited that he is in the closed beta for this game. Which is hosted by Run Up Games (warning annoying song is playing on this site). As to what he's talking about in the latter parts ... I've no clue nor interest in investigating to figure out what "peacockking" is talking about. Only reason I looked into the first half is because I like Gravity, and there line up of games. |

Are you looking for a free or paid AntiVirus? Free: AVG, Avira, and Avast (depending, people will argue over which is better, honestly, in my experience, they're all about the same) Paid: Kaspersky and Panda are the only two I use, the others I've tried simply don't compare for what we do at work. At home, it's always been Panda and I've never had problems with games. |

Sounds similar to the Acclaim business model right now actually. You can take surveys to get Acclaim Coins to pay for in game items, or look at ads in the game to pay for your time using it. Over all the idea has been tested and found very much lacking. Maybe it hasn't been done as "effectively" as some people may like, but think of it this way: why burden your users with ads using up bandwidth or using there play time filling out surveys when you could just charge moderate prices on digital items. Most free to play games offer the entire game up for free, you only purchase items from there store when you want to catch a break or just feel the need to stand out with a new set of cloths.
And on a side note, personally I don't feel like there is a problem with item malls; if it wasn't a successful business model companies would stop using it. I do think there is a problem with the lack of innovative games using them, and I'm frankly disappointed with the crop of titles out now that utilize them.
EDIT: Also the only truely free to play game I can honeslty think of would be PlaneShift. It's open source, runs a open source engine, and it's developed by a non profit organization. That is about as free to play as you can get. Unless you're a debian user and you're just hardcore about licensing and such and have to go off making your own images and labels for an ice weasel rather then a fire fox. |

How to pirce game and decide if monthly fee's???
Economics « Developers Corner 4/25/09 7:50:23 PM
I think it would depend on the type of game being released (browser, single player, MMO, etc...). That should depect the initial price point. Expansions (if charged) are generally 1/2 price of the core model, unless the core is included with the expansion. Also, if played completely online, then you have to cosider the idea of free to play with premium upgrades. It isn't a favorite among the crowds here but at the same time, with a solid product, you could make more per customer. |

There is DragonSky (http://dragonsky.aeriagames.com/) coming up, looks tempting, but for the here and now ... eh nothing worth the time comes to mind. |
|
|
Really? Nothing else comes to mind and generally speaking most MMOs are based on the idea of some time investment so a 10 or 20 minute play time would lend itself more to a single player game then it would an MMO. Maybe you should try some of the FPS games (BlackShot, Combat Arms, War Rock) or something like Rakion or Gunz for more of a quick fix. |

Try Atlantica. You are the party, it's turn based, auto-move feature available to find quest NPCs, and very friendly to new players. |
