Oh Cryptic, you have suckered us into purchasing your "product" via D2D.

I have written (count 'em) SIX times to your illustrious company. Each and every time, I received a "fix" or a brand spanking new "ticket" only to ask for another and another, ad nauseum.

Finally, after my final plea for help, they had the absolute balls -- pardon me -- to gloriously announce that if I did not respond via voice (customer service for a minimum of 30 minutes+) or e-mail and wait for several days for yet another "ticket" sincerely "apologizing" for their delay because they are so so very busy. I drew the line in the ST:O sand.

I will both visit USBank, with documentation in hand as well as file a scathing Better Business Bureau complaint. I'm quite sure that Cryptic have cubicles galore manned with personnel (minimum wage, of course) to deal with what they stated:

My account was hacked as well several EQ versions/updates ago as well.

I contacted EQ ASAP and received the typical run-around which basically required me to show reams of proof that I am not a Liar. I wrote back, stating that I had a dedicated ISP and alll they had to do was check, even furnishing my ISP number.

All Customer Service had to do was check. But nooooo.

I always find it interesting that MMORPG.COM sometimes chooses to bite the hand that feeds them.

Over the past few weeks, I've been bombarded with banners and "We Want You Back" emails from CCP and I was almost ready to jump back into a tiny little ship and get my ass kicked for awhile.

But then I remembered why I closed my account in the first place...

Ahhhh, the silence has been broken. Whew...

As several have said, they're waiting for this game and so am I. Additionally, there is that "Air of Caution" in the MMO arena. Pay X-Amount, see it crap out and spend more. Yeah, we love our MMOs but it's like the Holy Grail. Such is the Industry.

Are MMOs dead? No. Are *GOOD* MMO's coming out? Sure, although it depends on who you talk to and which game they're talking about. The question is which one to (both) play-test and lay down silvers.

With HJ, I honestly think that laying down the coin of the realm is in my (hopefully near) future.

I have absolutely no argument with your opinion on this one, Cymdai.

What we've seen in (ahem) Beta are much more "Alpha-Looking" to me. We shouldn't have seen such glaring omissions in bug-fixing prior to Beta testing and, yes, it does worry me.

I am, however, still interested in the final product. My primary concern is that, in this current State of the Industry, if the game isn't an overnight success, it's in the bargain bin within 14 days at the latest.

Listening to the GDC/Gamasutra Podcasts over the last several months, this industry STILL has a lot of "growing up" to do...

Only stats i could find, but blows the "mainly kids" idea away.

If there are stats to to the contrary, please list, i would be interested to see them.

Personally my overall impression of the players is that the majority are older and the online community as a whole is pretty good. Btw, the oldest player i have spoken to was in his 70's and he was a great bloke to play alongside.

I've tried EVE Online 3 times (to include two 3-month subscriptions).

To be honest, I think I had more "fun" writing my Master's Thesis than trying to wrap my head around this one.

I agree, the premise is rather freshing, the graphics are beautiful (that is, to a particular point of limitation) and even the tutorial was rather refreshing. With that said, I guess I'm just getting to the point where "character aka ship aka corporate building" has left me a little... tired.

No, I won't beat a dead Beta Horse to death at this point in time. I too was a victim of the "20+ Second Stun" on more than one occasion and as a Good Beta Boy, I reported the Boo-Boo to the Vanguard Gang.

Having known Keith for many years, I honestly hope that Vanguard will succeed just for the sake of his labors alone. Feeding the Microsoft Beast, well, that's another question I will not address here. Ya know, it's always the Developers that get their asses kicked in these forums.
