/cue swtor make Inquisitor voice

Oh please! That rabble over there is pathetic! Can we please do something about them? They are about as spineless as a bunch of Hopefuls...
nbt, your 5th House is probably set in Taurus. That means that your playstyle could be either of extremes: extreme defensiveness or extreme ofensiveness. Either a full tank or a glass cannon right? Do classes such as Druid, Zerk and the like appeal to you? In MOBAs, does a concept of carry interest you?

fdz, your 5th House is most likely set in Aquarius. Does that explain your love for everything weird and not real(Magic)? Yet taken and mastered as science. In other words, a Wizard, no? Air Magic perhaps?

laughing, your 5th is most likely set in Aries. Run in and "for the cause!", no? You most likely have Saturn there as well which would make you extra prone to "run in and tank" urges. Am I correct?

I bet that is 3/3. See how it's not a hogwash? Pure sun astrology, however, is like 1/100th of true astrology. A fun thing and an awesome intro, to be sure. But serious and accurate? Lol no. I'll take fdz as an example. He doesn't even like earth magic, let alone Virgo type classes. But I bet he does like to be prepared as well as play Wizards(the more unique, the better, yes?). Wizards have NOTHING/NADA/ZILCH/NAUGHT to do with Virgo-doubly so if they're specialised and therefore "incomplete". A Virgo personality would NEVER sacrifice Illusion for Enchantment(for example-DnD schools) because you never know when you're gonna need one right?

One must watch the whole picture to understand some things. And even then, it could only be murky instead of invisible. The joys of astrology! :D
Nothing would really change for me except the fact I couldn't play Tor in any way or fashion. Sad occurence, for sure, but I'd get over it. What would I do?

-> Find a job
-> Play other games
-> Read books
-> Go to cinema
-> Watch various interesting exhibitions
-> Watch sports
-> Find a girl
-> Practice astrology

There are plenty of things to do out there if you're willing to look for it. MMOs have never really interested me, so I wouldn't lose that much. I don't count GW 1 as a real MMO and swtor...well, kinda.
What is life but a hoary lined dream?
A very nice general list. I'd definitely push Virgo towards Engineers and Taurus towards, idk, carries(MOBA speak-sorry I have NO clue what they'd be in an RPG. Doubly so if we identify zerk with barb).

Care to explain what does Enchanter mean? Enchanter like in DnD or like in EQ or what? To be frank, it sounds like an NPC from TES who sells you soul gems and stuff :P

You're welcome. A few points that I'll make that you're going to understand when you research it deeper:

Ram wouldn't really stand there and blast away with fire magic. I mean just look at its name! A ram! Battering ram perhaps? They really feel the need to charge right in and start the mayhem. All the while leading(buffing) their allies. Fire mage could work if it was sth like PyroTech from swtor. Charge in, commence the purge! But the bombardment type? Not really, no. To understand this, you'd need to first understand triplicities of signs(element, polarity and modality), followed by houses and finally the planets themselves.

Anyhow, AstroTheme is a nice place to start. They've got those astrology 101 articles, various fun articles, should have a forum and a professional branch. I am not that sure of their predictive methods-I seem to remember them using composite charts(ffs!), but for a neophyte astrologer-more than fine! I wouldn't call myself more than Adept anyhow(I am currently trying to sublime the deeper meanings of transits and learning wtf progressions even are). That is FAR away from masters such as mr.Hand. But then again, There's at least 40 years difference between me and him. Who knows? ;)

Top 5 MMOs that SHOULD be a singleplayer game:

5. Final Fantasy: Combine a single player franchise with a single player focused features and forced online and you get...an MMO??? Wtf lol O.O

4. Age of Conan: Imagine if this game was made in vein of TES and not in vein of wow. Imagine playing in Hyboria while being able to mod it. Imagine freeing a village and village remaining free(and the thankful birds :D ). God dam!

3. Elder Scrolls Online: Just to get one thing straight: I don't think we would get TES VI anyhow. But even sth like TES:Adventures with bigger worlds and better gameplay would suffice. Or a remake of Arena or Daggerfall in HD. Instead we got...this. /shrug

2. The Secret World: This game really has nothing to look for in MMOland. MMO elements such as easy enemies, endless enemies, lack of impact on world just kill this one. It should be scary, adrenaline filled and difficult. It just isn't. And it, OMG, could be.

1. Star Wars: The Old Republic: Oh yeah, the game where even dungeons are about story should be an MMO. The game where 90% players say that what they like about Tor are: SW/TOR setting(s), story focus, companions and dungeons with story. Oh and responsiveness. Nobody in 5 pages mentioned PvP(ok, 1 guy did :P), Operations were just gliser over and Heroic missions/GSF and the like...0 mentions. In short, people play TOR for story and not for the group activities. They could've(even should've) done sth like modified ME where you start Neutral and based on your choices you get different classes and, with it, different stories. They have technology to make such game! What did we get instead? A pale imitation of WoW sprinkled with some story here and there. Remember Kotor? Remember ME? We could've had a brilliant offspring of those two. Instead we have a bastard offspring between wow and a book. God dam!

The mmos that COULD be singleplayer:

Every solo Heavy/friendly MMO. In today's world, that means over 75% MMOs sadly. The list with could modal doesn't make any sense.

edit: TOR takes place AFTER Kotor, god dam! BBY is like BC. Lower number is set after the bigger one, therefore 3650 BBY is set after ~3850 BBY. 5 minutes of google!

Update:

I check with amex and they said that they never received a charge. Which means that EA's site or, even worse, servers are fked up. But they won't admit that they have a glitch. Funny thing, every time you mention that, they act like they didn't hear it. Coincidence? I'll leave that to you.

So, what should I do?

The only thing that is garbage about astrology is the sun sign newspapers "astrology"(even respected astrologers like Bob Hand{ok Robert} or Bob Marks would tell you that pure sun sign astrology is teh shitte). Hell, ancient astrologers predicted quite some big movers and shakers. Back when they had NO idea about the outer planet(let alone asteroids), they were able to predict the onsets of major diseases, deaths of royal family etc. Idk if that really happened or is it the product of modern turkish series, but Suleyman was warned that a major shitpickle moment would happen. And look at that! He murdered his own son-the rightful heir(Sult...er Sehzade Mustafa)! It is pretty powerful...

OT:

It's a rather nice list, but I would take a GOOD look at the Ascendant(marked as Asc or AC) as well. It could be even more important than the sun sign here. Also the Fifth House-the House of leisure. See, I am a Pisces sun sign, but I don't find anything about those classes fun or intellectualy tantalising. Ok, water/earth Shamans maybe. Bounty Hunters otoh...OH MY! Combine that with the Toughness of a PowerTech and its general group utility as well as unprecedented freedom which BHs offer you in Star Wars(BHs, not necessarily mandos)...is a match made in heaven for me <3 . If only I could find a PowerTech alike in the fantasy universe... /sigh

Then there is the question of a Survivor. Survival Hunter(Draenei)-survived a crash, aclimatisation and is an overall theme of his. Ranger in GW which I always liked. See the pattern? ;)

Have you thought of mailing AstroTheme with this idea? They have such silly(but fun!) articles/readings.

edit: also keep in mind where Descendant(180 degrees from the Ascendant) and Midheaven(Medium Coelli-sp? Marked as MC on the charts) are located. Aspects are a bit too much for this site I guess, so I'll just skip that wee detail :D :D

So it turns out it DIDN'T go through even in spite of me receiving a receipt AND Cartel Coins AND an email. ...

I just had a 15 minute chat with their CS which cost me about the same as subscription itself(sure whatever). What did I get out of that? "Check with the bank, try another CC, buy a normal gtc, can't help, can't help, can't help". Then I ask if I could get cartel coins for my troubles(FOUR months of persistence and FIFTEEN tries to sub-both the revolving and the normal gtcs!). Care to guess the answer? What kind of CUSTOMER SUPPORT is this???

I am this "|" close to just deleting my characters(it'd hurt SO MUCH!) and moving on from this trainwreck. They can't help me who wants to sub, but they can develop shit to flog to the freeloaders and whales.

I am SO angry!

It's in front of our eyes, yet it is invisible. In other words:

The usual business of yore. As future wants to be

Originally posted by Forrealz

About time someone notices this besides me lol. It seems every since swtor went f2p their first focus is the cartel market and its bs packs that force you to gamble for items instead of the usual pay for what you want model. Now this pisses me off because the MMO itself really is a great MMO that is being held back by its f2p model and there are better f2p models out there but swtor's model is the worst. Really the MMO has only had one true expansion that being ROTC and since then nothing but just normal new content that should be kept with otherwise like new Flashpoints, Operations, PvP content, events, and new space mode but no real expansion that actually expands PvE and the main stories of it. Really the only side that had benefitted most from swtor going F2p is the business side not the consumers since all it does is make more money but we don't get more for it which we should. It pretty much put making money first the main focus with the MMO itself taking a back seat to the Cartel market and its micro transactions that makes them so much money yet we are not seeing a steady flow of expansions like we should be seeing given the money its making.

I mean really by now they could have had another real expansion that at least adds new stories,Quests, planet/planets, or maybe even a whole new class along with its own story line just like all the other classes. I mean they could have even introduced with the new expansion new gear in game, (not cartel market) race/races, or even maybe a new advanced class for each current class something that is very much more doable then a whole new class that would require its own story like the rest of the current classes and another thing is add and do more with its companion system which is one of its strengths and something that sets it apart from other MMOs that they can easily do alot more with and even add new companions with new class if they ever created one. Bottomline the amount of tiome its been out alot more could have been done and now that its doing good money wise it still does not and seems like making money is all they care about since adding fps,ops,events, and so on is not what people really just want and is something that is expected to be kept up with along with expansions and do not replace them or enough to be considered expansions like they try so hard to presuade people to think so but they ain't fooling no one.

This all upsets me because its a great MMO that has alot more potential then what they do with and really seems like they only want to take advantage of instead of give it the support it deserves and needs. The truth is people leave not because its a bad MMO since its not and in  fact has one of the best story line and story telling experiences much like you get from AAA RPGS and has alot going for it but fact is they leave because it does not have a steady flow of expansions something in which successful MMOs always has and needs. Adding fps,ops, modes, and PvP content is just what all MMOs do on top of expansions so they need to learn this and stop trying to pass off this new content alone like its a real expansion.

They could've done SO much with it, yes. They could've done something akin to Nightfall, continue stories with the GW 1 payment/release style, etc. All of this is for naught because we keep getting stinking, bloody lottery riddled cosmetic packs. When you just think of the potential of swtor, it is huge yes. Too bad that EA  is the publisher(or involved in any way!).

Word mate!

End game is a terrible design flaw in mmorpgs, you can never satisfy the people looking for end game and everyone ends up being on a content threadmill.

I don't usually double post, but...

+1 gajillion THIS!!!!!

Why do people find such a drab exercise in fuitility fun is beyond me. Not that there is anything fun there, just cheap psych.tricks. Just let our games finish ffs...

DEATH TO THE ENDGAME!!!

We need more stories, not the OPs! Why?

Over 75% people would play the continuation of stories even if it didn't come with lvl raise. How many people do play OPs? 5% Even that?

Just go with the common sense. Not that I expect EA to do that(they always went against that), but still...one can hope right?

The most memorable moment was when I rediscovered 40k. Even better moment came after that.

You see, I played a game with an epic soundtrack, big blue/crimson robots(I called them like that :P) when I was a kid(6 I think it was). It was in the vein of X-COM. I clear forgot about that until I installed Starcraft some 2 years after and, naturally, thought that was what I was looking for. The blue Marines in the campaign DIDN'T help(out of all colours they chose Ultramarine blue to represent Terran in the campaign :D ). And there I was, pleasantly cruising the games living in illusion(deception rather). Then I installed Dark Crusade somewhere 2007-ish. Ofcourse, I didn't find anything familiar at the start. And how couldn't I? Well, you see, I was(still am!) very in love with Tau and Eldar(High Elves replaced Eldar, Tau are still as awesome as always). But when I randomed Ultrasmurfs and the enemy(AI) randomed Word Bearers...

:D :D :D Right? It all came back in a flash. The moment can't really be described. It's one of those "AHHH..." moments. It was VERY NICE as you might guess. The following playthrough of DC and SS as Tau and Eldar were just icing on the cake.

That's my best moment.

Get these kicks:

Today I said: "What the hell, let's try again!" and it worked O.o. Maybe it has something to do with me grabbing a ref link or something. I TRULY don't know and may <insert deity here> have mercy upon their billing servers. They are equally, if not more, messed as WAR's playing servers were.

Now that I am on the revolver, I won't go until I get the daily rolling and will not have ANY need whatsoever from the sub.

/whatever

Get ready narius. I said that and they ate me alive ;)

I use my iPhone as a mobile internet device/to play games. TYVM! And this is what freedom allows me.

As well as to use this fabulous teal font and to playTOR how I want it. Why? Because I PAYED for it!

Besides, the choice is to either play what's available or to stare at the wall. I think that you can understand me choosing the former ;)

And if we don't show interest for TOR, they'll just assume that Revan mania has died and won't even think of KoTOR3. Can you fault us now?

Besides, TOR isn't bad. It isn't KoTOR quality, true(especially not TSL quality!), but it's VERY good if you want a story based game that transforms into a group based game. You can just play it for the story then end. You can play multiplayer from the start(GSF). As soon as you reach your faction's homeplanet, you can level through the group content EXCLUSIVELY.

I feel like a major part of internet should throw down its stance on TOR and just try it again. I hated it with the passion of Sith(I guess that you can find those post in the archive)-look at me now. Just because I DARED to try it and CHALLENGE my belief. That act made me quite happy.

You can buy a shoe and wear it on your head, because you feel like it and it is your money, but does that make it a bright choice?

I used the phone as an easy example, but people tend to look for flaws as much as it is possible, so for the sake of making my point pass through thick heads. "It is like buying a phone in the 80s and not using it to call other people".

If your only choice is to play what is avaliable or just stare in the wall, do you have no real life at all? Is it really either play or do nothing? No wonder this industry is doing so fine on low quality products.

Going back on topic, I still have no idea what "breathing world" means...

I don't have anything better to do. Try living in my country and see how long would you survive without going nuts. No job, no future only negative predictions. Would you be equally condescending to someone from Detroit I wonder? We do what we can to not go crazy.

1. No MMO ever had a value of 6 months for me. Old games had just as hard time keeping me in, as new games. Is it bad? If you ever played one of old mmo's for more than 6 months you either had unhealthy addiction, or you had good group, because you won't convince me it was the repetitive gameplay that kept you in for so long.

2. If you mean guild, yes it is easy to make a name for yourself in any large guild. Even if you don't have much advantage character progression wise, people will still want your help and your company, if you show any signs of leadership or stability. People like players they can depend on in terms of protection in dungeon or simply not quitting half way through. If you talk alot and do a lot with other players, you will be remembered and noticed. Your social abilities in real life are reflected in game.

3. I don't even know if this question is serious or not - of course yes, why not? You must be jinxed, if you really can't find a group like that.

4. I don't see any reason to have a packed friend list in new games, since the core has changed a lot and it is no longer a sign of social activity. You join a guild, and interact with people in it. I tend to have over 10 real life friends in my friend list, and that is the main reason I use it for. But just as it was way back I still tend to invite people leveling on the same map to party and force them to open up to me by talking. Some end up on my friend list, to be later invited, if my guild party is one person short. Only difference like I said before is that now I have to take the initiative. Before, I could be goth kid sitting in the corner alone, and old games would throw people at me. I like it that new games force you to use some effort. It feels like you as a player rebel for some reason and stop doing whatever you did back in the days in older games to meet people, just so you can blame the game for it. Sorry, just my opinion.

I am not playing mmo for community as a whole. What you want is not possible in real life conditions. In the beginning of 2000s mmo's were played by a certain niche of people that happened to be a very nice community. The day genre became popular was the day, we let everybody in.... We all know majority of population is messed up. Unless you filter them trough some sanity tests before letting them inside a game, you can't fix the communities in new games, gaming became too popular. That is why sane person joins good guild, and makes good use of block features.

This argument always makes me smile. It seems like people that claim "old is better" never really been there, when old was new. Because if you ever saw EQ1 forums, or WoW forums at the beginning.... everything was on fire. People hated these games. Launches were terrible. When WoW launched, it was s*it storm on forums, servers were going down one after another, 1000s people queues, the rage was insane. No one remembers that. People raged like hell over vanilla WoW features, I guess it was erased from fans memories, or was never really accepted. Suddenly, now after so many years, when those games were changed because of all those complaints, the term "vanilla" appeared and suddenly everything old was fine, and we want it back. It just feels like no matter what changes, what's always better is the thing that we don't have at the moment...

Has that notion occured to you? WAR was the only Warhammer fantasy RPG EVER(on pc). Swtor is the best we have until Kotor 3(would I prefer latter? HELL YES!!!). How about LoTR RPGs and LoTR:O?

See, sometimes I'm painted in a corner and That's like the only reason I play. I = RPG lover that has an affinity for certain IPs. Of course, there are other reasons to play as well, but don't act like I'm playing only for Socialisation(I am not).

Playing multiplayer role playing game not for social reasons, is like buying a phone not for calling other people. Would you also buy Mario chess, because you like Mario, even though you don't want to play chess? It shows how brain washed the world has become by marketing. Just put a good name on something mediocre that has nothing to do with original and hungry junkies will buy anything just to get their share. SWTOR is the best example, really bad single player experience, but people hungry after KOTOR will buy anything, feeding company with money, so we can see more pathetic content in SWTOR instead of KOTOR 3. This is the only reason I can be mad for new MMO's..  that thanks to them we lose good single player games.
