Hey yo! You dawgs dare misspel the name of allmighty TGN? How dare ye heathen?

Oh praise be the lord when that tooltip will say what it is supposed to say in all its divine glory(TGN Army). This unholy abberation should be purged so the real TGN takes its place...

(you spelled TGN Army wrong in the tooltip-it say TGN AMRy)

You're welcome!

"Why do MMOs always revolve around killing?"

also not a very good one, as it implies that they do, which is not 'always' the case.

'A tale in the desert' for instance is a clear disproval of that statement, and then there is the anthropomorphism thing, do you also imply that games that include the killing of animals for whatever reason, fall into the same category as those that, like FPS's feature, a 'usually' entirely human selection of opponents? And does it even count as killing, if 30 seconds later you are possibly fighting the exact same opponent yet again, rather than killing, your defeating the 'opponents'.

Can something be classed as having been killed, if no actual 'real' death even takes place? isn't it more a case of, in XX game, quests can involve defeating 'xx' creatures/targets etc. to obtain 'xx' items or achieve objectives.

I like your way of thinking.

Yes, nothing is really specifically killed in mmos(not you, not enemies). You are merely defeated/they get defeated etc-just as you said. That's why I like the way LoTR:O handled it by renaming health to morale. So nothing really dies-it merely runs away. Or rather enemies do die, but you don't(when was the last time you saw Aragorn die? Retreat is whole another thing).

I highly like LoTR:O's way of doing it.

Here's an even better one:

And no plans to fix Twi'leks so they can wear hoods or so they can wear hats without them clipping into their lekkus... A big middle finger to you too Bioware. Seriously, people have been begging for this fix over and over since the launch of the game. So sick of you guys ignoring your player base. Fix the damn crappy clipping problems in general!

It's not only that. How about:

-> Hood toggle

-> Story replay

-> age old bugfixes(some armors STILL won't accept colour modification/unification in cutscenes!)

-> Engine update

I mean they make $200 million a year! That's almost as much as swtor cost to make and it was divided into four(or more) years! They earned over half a billion(!!!) since they went "free" to play and what did we get? A bunch of lockboxes, cm items and VERY MINOR updates for money they make! Look at it this way:

They earned over half a billion and invested $100mil(if that much!) back into the game! It's a slander to everyone's intelligence what EAware is doing. The latest bait n switch is just an example how low they fell. So where are those moneys?

-> Battlefront

-> SWTOR 2

-> obscene expenses that shouldn't be mentioned-and won't!

I mean this is just WRONG!

Well, the problem is that heroes don't work well in open world content. For dungeons and other instances then finebut I rather not have an open world zone where 4 out of 5 players are bots.

The problem is more from the controls aspect of things tbh. GW1 had a hybrid of click-to-move and 3rd person movement. (wasd)

However, GW2 is all 3rd person. There is no top-down control scheme, so it's hard to command multiple units as you would in an RTS (or in GW1). Even with the limited pets the game currently has, controlling them is very simplistic. They could add heroes, but they would end up being fairly cumbersome to control, especially with how important things like dodging are in GW2.

So do it like swtor did it? Or like EQ2 did it?

I don't care, I am just tired of being automatically relegated to a DPS if I want to solo. I love how you can solo with a tank or with a healer in certain games. Or a DPS if you fancy it.

How can they be over-sexualised? They don't even have breasts-they are plank-women.

Male otoh, man what a rip! What exactly happened to slender and graceful(no, Herc isn't either :P)?

Id say for a two year waiting period this is more content than your average WoW expansion. The haters will spin this negatively though.

As much as i am excited for new expansion you are wrong. there. But like you said haters gonna hate..did you notice the irony?

You are both just speculating here.

What we know is that there will be a new class. Wow had done this in some expansions.

As far as we know there wont be a new playable race but since they havn't said there wont be one we can't be sure. Anyways do Wow have added races in their expansions so hee is a point to Wow.

The mastery system is hard to translate to Wow but lets compare it to changing the mechanics like Wow also usually does.

The secondary proffesions like druid is something Wow never had, that is a point to GW2.

Guildhalls and guild Vs guild is also a point to GW2.

We have no clue about the new zones, dungeons and so on but it sounds pretty equal with the things we do know about.

Wow released  23 november 2004 and TBC released the 16th jan 2007 so Wow wins there though. By how much is still a guess.

I'll risk now, but I think that specialisations will work like Alternate Classes in swtor:

You have a base class that determines your playstyle/moves etc. Then you pick an AC that focuses you on particular playstyle(ranged, melee, half range, mobile, static etc).

I think this is how specs will function, but at a latter level. If they were smart, they'd put it ~lvl 40(or so) when the progression and acquisition of your skills grinds to a halt. Yes, I feel that'd be a move that could revitalise GW2 levelling experience.

It all depends on specialisations and implementation thereof. If they give us some better levelling experience(imo it stops at 30 and for the rest of the game you play because of other reasons), it'd be very good.

Deep down I still haven't crosses gw2 off. They still can turn it around and live up to its predecessor name(QUITE difficult, but not impossible). Hell, I wouldn't have liked pre Nightfall GW 1 anyhow...
Swtor is growing, but definitely not in the direction WE want it. But in the direction THEY want it! Look how uptight and crass they were when they designed disciplines:

" the idea for disciplines is to allow US to quickly and painlessly balance content and so WE could see what is really wrong with certain play styles." <- too much we/us, too little you.

Plus how can a player take that statement seriously when PlasmaTech feels like you haven't chosen a discipline(for the first 41 levels lol!)? And it's not only about PT. Engineering, virulence, lethality, vigilance etc are ALL in this same boat. Extreme example: watchman-lol watchman! How is a new player supposed to learn this one when it's SO BORING/SO COMPLICATED/SO UNFINISHED(right into lvl 50!)?

Meh. I play this game for stories only. Everything else is, sadly, not worth time playing through OR star wars license. But the stories are so good! WTB story replay mode!
I may be dense, but what are "specialisations"? Yknow, it is mentioned seperately from additional weapons...

Is this a good game or a bad game?  Probably by now, you've played it yourself and can answer that question for yourself.  But... I need to get some crap off my chest about this game.  So I'm gonna lay it out here.

You know how when you were a kid and you might get sick, your mom made you stay home from school?  You remember trying to watch day-time TV?  You know... those hours before your favorite after-school shows came on?  You remember flipping through the channels a million times trying to find.... ANYTHING!?  And then after about 20 minutes of that... you finally submit to the irresistible power of... the Game Shows?  You know - Jeopardy, The Price is Right, Family Feud, Shop 'Til You Drop, Hollywood Squares, Pyramid, Supermarket Sweep, Name That Tune, and Press Your Luck?

You know how when you were watching those shows, you'd think, "Well... these aren't BAD shows... but I sure would rather be watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Thundercats, Darkwing Duck, Transformers, Saved By The Bell, Salute Your Shorts, .... fuggin' Doug!"

Well... playing Guild Wars 2.... is a lot like watching Press Your Luck around 10:30 in the morning on a sunny, perfect Tuesday, when you'd rather be watching Doug... which doesn't come on for another 7 hours.  But it sure beats the hell out of going to school and learning... like... Math and shit.... and it's not like there's anything better on TV.  So... oh well... given the circumstances... I guess it's pretty good.

You know?  Like.... it's serviceable if nothing else is going on at the time?  But... you're not going to sit down and watch a 3 Season Marathon of The Price is Right like you actually might do for Thundercats.

ADDITION:  Because I'd hate to waste your time with giving you a completely subjective review like any other review of any other game by anyone else by providing you with my own way of expressing things and hoping you might understand my meaning according to my own expression rather than how you express something, I've added in some typical grading scales you might find in other reviews so that it meets your criteria of what constitutes a review.

I give the game 1 Thumbs Up out of 2.

I give it 3 Stars out of 5.

I give it a 6.5/10.

It meets a 65% approval rating according to my personal grading scale.

Graphics - 8.5

It looks pretty good.

Sound - 6

It sounds typical and serviceable, but there's nothing special about it.

Gameplay - 6

It's not boring for the first 30 minutes to an hour, but then I start to feeling like I'd rather be playing something better.

Value - 6

I feel like it is worth the price I paid for it.  But I don't necessarily feel the need to participate in the Cash Shop.

Tilt - 6

I don't love it.  And I don't hate it.  It's okay when I'm bored.

What I like about the game:

I like the fact that it's better than everything else I've played on the current Market.  But you should take that as more of a statement about the current Market, rather than a comment about the game.  And it fits into that "serviceable" zone quite nicely for me.

What I don't like about the game:

I don't like the fact that when I play GW2, I can't shake the notion that I'd rather be playing something better.

And that's my Revised Review of Guild Wars 2.  I feel like adding the numbers really expressed better what I had to say about the game instead of what I originally wrote.  Thanks for the feedback guys!

Red = what's wrong with today's society. Instead of being outside or being in school actually learning stuff and expanding your brain, most people would rather rot their brains away. I mean those are their brains - they are free to do with them as they like.

I know the example was hypothetical onset of disease, but really? I can't believe a kid would rather sit in front of tv/pc rather than run around/climb trees/socialise in school etc. What have we come down to...

When's the reveal anyhow?
Agree with your Main point. My main point would be:

-> Henchman(so I can play solo however I see it fit/this is one of MAJOR strengths of GW 1/swtor compared to other MMOs)

-> Mobile Turrets. Idk make it so that when you pick up a turret, it instantly refreshed cd. Or even better, give them half/full tracks with a trait. Would it really hurt?
Currently, I have a hunch that they are going down the swtor path. You should be worried for it's seldom that my hunches misfire.

I don't know why, but something in those words strongly reminded me of swtor. Maybe it's the modification of xp? /shrug . I didn't like it in swtor and I sure won't like it here.
I meant Save money on a completely pointless sub.

I am going to try ESO first through some kind of trial or demo and then judge whether to buy it(or not).

Worse come to pass, I'll have another swtor. Very awesome to me <3 . Ie: another very good solo story focused MMO.
/squeee! TGN is here!!! Awesome!

...wait! What is tgn again? I know what is tsn, but what is tgn and why is it so mysterious?

Is it some kind of video producing partnership? Expert video makers? Some ARG(alternate reality game) played over YT? ... /confused

Well...knew it. Glad I saved money in the long run.

Now, that it is B2P(as I ADAMANTLY DEFENDED it'll go to), I have yet another great story-focused game. Both SWTOR AND ESO. Man, this FEELS AWESOME!!!

It's not about methods, but about the Tools to get there. I see. I quite forgot how do that. I know it can be done semi-officialy because I reviewed TSW right here on mmorpg. No, not the official one. But I still did write a huge article about it. Let me check something...

edit: it's as vrika said. That is semi-official. How do I know? I waited for...a month(it took long anyhow) for it to be approved and then some weak to materialise on mmorpg. If you want to get official, try being more active. Have 5 stars for at least half a year. Try writing a blog(impossible for me-I NEED communication/blog is too passive). Try sending them various write-ups you did for whatever. But whatever you do:

As long as your post count is sub 500(this is a VERY lenient est btw), I wouldn't count on anyone trusting you. And why should we? I mean, you might be the next Stephen Hawking or Bill Gates, but chances are that you are not and that you are a mere provocateur. Until we see real you, don't count on anything.

Gamorrean Axes are defacto Canon because they were worn by Gamorrean guards who guarded jabba the hutt.

Sadly, this fail design(instead of a real cortosis cross guard lightsaber-sweet!) alongside goongans/jar-head-blinks and other nonsense will be Canon while some other, awesome stuff will not. Ok, yuuzhan vong and luke vs living black Hole needed to go(pretty obvious innit?), but we did lose a bunch of nice stuff.

...meh. I'll still be using my lvl 10 orange equipment. Hardly anything beats Republic command carbine or lvl 10 saberstaff. Then there's that sweet silver/purple hilted lightsaber from Coruscant equipment comm vendor. As usually:

More freedom and hence fun to you guys!
