Manage to play sandbox for more then decade but i can't take the cheating anymore sadly.

I'll wait for The Witcher 3 im done with mmo community and there cheating and easy gameplay plus dumb grind.

I loved sandbox and one last sandbox(only first 6 months) i loved Darkfall also ruined by cheaters and devs dumb down train and macro shit.

I have absolutely no faith anymore in mmo's.

Game should have focussed on what it supposed to be dynamic events in open world not dungeons runs.

Also should have kept the difficulty as it was in first beta weekend.

Reasons i quit was dumb down so it was easy and dungeon grind and result empty world.

Ive played beta weekends which where great and 5 months into launched game. But when world was empty and only saw people running mist dungeon i quit.

Shame i liked GW2 and thought it was great looking diverse game world one of the best under water worlds and combats(which btw also so many complained about sadly) no i won't ever comeback.

I still have my charr statue standing here. Yes i payed 150 euros for collectors edition only because i realy believed in this game but was betrayed by devs and gamers who only whined and complain result dumb down and grind dungeons which i hate.

Now i don't believe in MMO'S anymore sadly:(

I saw on steam the minimum specs are they for real?

Seems game is build around almost DX8 engine and every computer from 2004 can run it.

Watched some video's because of those specs and indeed game looks way outdated.

2014 and we still have graphics from 10 years ago:(

Yeh lets dumb down, the casual can't achieve so let's make the game easy, because they don't wanna spent time learning or invest time.
The problem these days is willing to learn and invest and not worry about when you get it but how to achieve and win.

Time you play a mmo should not be problem, it's a mmo after all there is no limit, time don't matter at all when you reach your goal, if you achieve this in a week or month or year this should not matter at all.

Spoon fed generation treadmill instant cookies that's problem with today's generation.

So 99% of mmo get dumb down so the players are happy how sad:(

Whole mmo industrie is ruined in process bah:(

If you knew this Clan from beta and day 1 launch, they are one of the main reason why Darkfall 1 failed.

Biggest cheaters by far ever roaming AGON.

There video's where great but in the long run they did more harm then good result DFUW and fail of DFO.

Its sad that even Aveturine supported them with there video's.

DFO=Darkfall online

Not Dungeon fighter online

They remade DF1 cause of community which were not playing DF1 and also DFUW. DF1 during first year had like 5k players online. After their perfect patches it became like 300. DFUW had like 500 during first months and now it is 50? or something like that and only 1 year passed. DF1 just needed good patches and not a fail ones. where did you get those numbers?

 

I know when I played DF1 (which was the entire time it was around) players complained about the game. 

I predicted 'when the new one comes out I assure you will start to complain that you want the old one back...hand to god this will happen'

now...here we are.

 

bottom line here is that DF1 was one of the best games ever created but because of the community we now have DF:UW which isnt as good but its still better than most MMOs on the market. That said the DF community is going to complain no matter what and that is the problem



If there was no cheating and macroing 24/7 Darkfall 1 around 6th month was best OPEN PVP FULL LOOT MMO sinds AC-Darktide first 2 years of its launch.

The complaining was mainly comming from carebears and those who always complain nomatter what devs do.

The trash talk agains DFO already started around 2006 because sinds WoW launched the gamers playing MMO'S was hugely improved in numbers so constantly on the forumfall more and more themeparkers came and trash the game here on MMORPG.COM and Forumfall.

Hardcore and DEVS should never be defeated by those themeparkers and show some bloody backbone but many Hardcor quit and devs gave into dumbdown.

I blame many Hardcore for cheating they also did to get that edge thats why i never see them as real hardcore there LOSERS as so many cheaters are.

I played for more then 2 years without macroing for 1 minute or exploit or nay other cheat but i was prolly one few who never did.

What me also frustrated was the one clan that was famous in DF1 promoted the game with awesome video's was supported by Aventurine but cheated the most. Thats the sad story about DFO.

The are no HARDCORE anymore all who claim to be hardcore cheat and in my book then your not a hardcore.

Your so wrong about that Darkfall not failed because shit the community gave not even close.

Or you mean shit they gave by the cheating which was huge and down fall of DFO?

Bad launch to early split up community bad discisions.

Wide scale cheating hacking exploits thats what failed DFO not the shit community gave on forums.

The lies original dev team with many promise, from original Norway dev team the insanely stupid TASOS thats what failed the game.

ZERG'S in first 3 months what failed the game.

Some well know clans that cheated the living daylights out of this game constant macroing 24/7 bloodwalls THATS WHAT FAILED THIS GAME.

Stupid Zapp towers the savezones WTF thats what failed it for me with cheating as biggest problem.

Not the trash talk community gave majority where ex themepark users many fro WoW who could never be taken serieus if devs failed because of them then they don't deserver any aatention at all because of some dumb themaparkers.

BTW ive played Darkfall 1 in beta for 2 months JAN-FEB 2009 and launched game from 1st week of march untill april 2011 so i no a little bit about whole proces of Darkfall 1.

They should never have give into the dumb down they should have attack with all there power the cheating.

Still i loved Darkfall 1 for me it was after AC-Darktide my best experience in a sandbox open pvp full loot mmo.

I want Darkfall as it was after the node patch when it also gave rare ores.

Not later when the real dumb down started.

Around 6 months lifespan i think Darkfall 1 was good.

Only maybe sounds could be improved but hardcore as Darkfall 1 was i want back not this CRAP like DFUW what dumb game that is.

I doub Larian studio's will transform D:OS into a mmo that will never happen, unless a big publisher buy them out and don't give a damn about game should be or not there only concern is money.

Would be bad transform it into MMO for many reason, and should be clear why it's bad idea if you have follow the game market last 10 years.

Both mentioned MMO'S rather failed hard ESO(will never get succes of TES games specially SKYRIM) and SWTOR.

Only Fallout maybe but i say it's dumb to transform good solo games into MMO'S most failing and ruined the solo games.

In case of TES we must see if it hurts solo series but if that happens then Bethesda is to blaim and fully responsible not zenimax.

SWTOR solo games(couple of million sold?) i don't care that it fail as a mmo, it's not in same league as Elder Scrolls games(24million copy's sold).

I have another mission that I have yet to complete which is winning in competitive mode on a certain map. That has been much more exciting, there is something really on the line there, there is no guarantee that I'll ever complete it as I can fail unlike the last mission. I've tried it 3 times now and I've failed each time, that is up to 90 mins a pop. It is fun, it came down to the wire the last time I tried, I was the last man alive and my heart was pounding and my hands were shaking so badly. I lost and felt devastated, but  if I succeeded I would have had such a high. 

Those extreme emotions are things I experienced in early MMOs, ones which were challenging. I don't get that any more, MMOs are made too easy or have been dumbed down over time. You end up going through the content and you just feel nothing but boredom, everything is now a means to an end, when you get to the end you quit the game. I never used to play old MMOs to get to the end, in fact I probably never got to what you could call the end on any of them. I used to play to have fun, to feel those wild swings in emotions. Now though everything is made so everyone can experience it, it is basically just a checklist of easy content that has been designed with one thing in mind and that is levelling up your character and doing it FAST and EASY.

This is something that has always pissed me off and the reason why I ended up quitting so many MMOs in the past. I remember SWG starting off as being a hard and harsh game, every patch seemed to be doing something to make it easier though. It got to the point where we had two major game changes in an effort to make it super easy and dumb. It made no sense to me as the skill box system is far more intuitive than the talent tree system, it offered far more variety as well. I just thought it was funny because Jedi used to have harsh death penalties to keep them in line as they were meant to be rare and over powered. People though always claimed server instability killed them and whined on until they lessened the Death Penalty to basically nothing... like funny that, always someone else's fault but yours. When I died all fully geared back when Dayz came out and was a challenging game, I didn't whine on about it being the servers fault and wanting them to take the death penalty away, I just fucking got over it and started again...

 

Developers have become like mini celebs now though, they've all gained big egos now that fans are all communicating with them through social media and forums etc. So developers want their content to be played by everyone, they're making content that satisfies their own ego rather than what is good for the game. I just cringe every time I hear a developer saying "we spend this amount of time making whatever and only 2% of people saw it" and using it as an excuse to why they've made something easier or taken it out of the game. Like ok so just make a boring corridor instead then, make sure everything we see is exactly what everyone else is seeing. I don't get that argument, what makes open world games fun is discovering things other people haven't seen, if we're all sent down the same path each time then it isn't a world any more, besides it makes replayability boring.

 

I'm just so tired of all these excuses around something being challenging to why people are leaving their game. Dumbing down a game  has never made it more popular or kept players on, it just satisfies the short term and harms the long term.


players cause this, blame them and weak dev teams with no real strong minds they give always into dumb down. This will not change soon, on all fronts sandbox or themepark 99% devs are weak prolly also because of publishers $$$ is most importend so whiners always win.

I can't stand other players anymore mainly because of cheating and there attitude of want everything easy way and and fast today's generation don't take time anymore or wanne invest time.

Asheron's call old days or even Darkfall 1 first half year are MMO'S i wanne play(without cheaters offcorse)

Only multiplayer i play sometimes is DayZ SA

I'll dare saying Asheron's call should be number 1or 2 on the list. It's indeed shame not mention Asheron's call. Darkfall:UW is a joke compare to Darkfall 1 The Original.
 
 

I play sinds AC1 launched and had similar experience as you.

But some things never changed for me i stayed HARDCORE also when i got family and work and i could not play as much as i wanted.

Early years i played 7 days a week easy 10-15hours a day.

Now most of time i can play maybe 4 hours day.

But i dont want games to be easy i still want as i use to they be hardcore if its timesink so be it then it will take longer.

But becouse ive changed don't mean i suddenly want games also be more easy so i can do whatever i want in time alouded.

Thats difference between most of you and me.

You have similar expereince and same situtation but you guys want the games adjust to you and make is simpler and easy becouse your SORRY EXCUSES is family and work there for want ezmode.

I can say the same but i don't i will not play games that are easy becouse i have less time then i will rather quit then play these sorry excuse for games made these days.

Yes WoW is MAINLY responsible for the state most mmo's are in right now.

Im still amazed how easy most of you guys give in to these spoonfed ezmode mmo's is beyond me still after 15years don't want that im prolly one of few left feel the same way ssadly.

Looks nice but sorry not gonne pay for some unknown game thats seems even pre-alpha, im not even willing to pay for beta let alone alpha.

Goodluck tho hope you have succes with rust, ill jump in if i hear good things about the game when it actually launch.

At that point, you get to see who is going to grow up embracing new technologies and who is going to continue to read hard cover novels.  The GREAT part about Oculus Rift is that there is going to be a large portion of the gaming community who are going to resist it, finding the headset too cumbersome (excuse ad infinitum).

Guarantee you kids will love it though.  And that's truly the only demographic that counts long-term, and so the VR world begins in 2014-2015 (Google Glass, Oculus Rift, etc.)
