The problem is you are trying too hard to have a negative view and its obvious.  You are clearly on the hunt to find anything.  Seriously why bother?  XFire is hardly used and the stats are based on vastly incomplete data.

The game may have sold badly and it may not have.  However please don't try to come across as one way or another being fact, as you (and everyone else) doesn't know.

Raptr tracks maybe more than 30m ppls playing hours.

Anyway those programs may not show anyhting about total numbers or subs in a game, but the trend of those who already play it and use these programs. The numbers shows a radical decline of their interest in every days playing hours. About total numbers & subs we can only be sure if ZEN announce them, but the trend of the ppl can be shown from these programs.

Quite amazing as I've yet to come across anyone who actually uses them kind of tools, in 18 years of  online gaming.  I installed XFire once, to check it out.  Doesn't mean I use it.   Like most, I'm not interested in being "tracked".   From what I can tell they attract a certain mind set, so there tends to be a common trend no matter the game.

Since I use Raptr please tell me what that "certain mind set" is please?

Sorry, I haven't seen too much of this and no one in the two guilds I'm in have been discussing, so I don't see this as a huge problem. In fact the gold spammers have died down considerably in just a couple of weeks. I subbed for the 180 days cuz I'm pretty confident I won't be moving to another MMO anytime soon. One of my friends yesterday morning just played played this as her first PC game and MMO and she was hooked even if she didn't understand most of it. I think you are overdramatizing all of this.

I'd actually be concerned if gold spammers had noticeably slowed down this quickly. You would think a new game would have a high demand for a while.

I am not sure what your speaking of with this cat-day thing what is that?

I guess the fellow Caturday survivors (and owners of the pack of http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Caturday_Survivor%27s_Pack) are referring to the "event" when the hacking / duping / call it as you like reached a level so insane, that Cryptic finally decided to do a rollback... and it's called Caturday because it was on a weekend (though many stated it was more like cat turd day :) )

Which was a farce and nothing but a token action!  As People had been exploiting for two weeks and not just 7 hours like they claimed.

The only way to "really" fix that mess, was to do a complete reset, with proper compensation. Which they didn't had the guts to do it.

I left shortly after that and will never touch another Cryptic game again.

If you left why keep reading and posting about it? Bored??

Hearthstone is also pay-to-win.

So what TCG do you not have to pay for packs...online or offline?

Plus you can buy them with gold you win for playing.

I can see it now. Three weeks post launch hardcore PvE only guy, proclaims he has beat the game, and there is no more content.

Don't blame ESO if you refuse to play half the game!

Is this what passes for a meaningful post on the internet now a days?

"Get a life. No one besides you cares."....Really because I just read another thread with a poll that was against this and there seemed to be a lot of people who cared in that thread.

"Once the game is considered "stable""....So the game will not be considered "stable" at launch? That doesn't sound too good.

Just a suggestion, but if I wasted time to respond to everything I read on a internet forum that I didn't like or agree with I wouldn't be able to get anything done.
I'll make you a bet if you are so sure. If they hit 10 million subs in the first year I will never post here again. If they don't you will never post anything like this prediction here again. Deal?
ESO or Wildstar
LFGame « General Discussion

I have played both and I decided to purchase neither game.

To me Wildstar was like a lot of movies the trailers looked great, but the movie just turned out alright. It is not a bad game, but the trailers to me where the best thing about it.

If you like the Elder Scrolls world then you might very well enjoy ESO. If I had to purchase one of the two it would be ESO. I enjoyed my time in ESO much more than Wildstar. That said after playing many hours of ESO something just did not click for me. If I didn't get around to playing it for a night or two it wasn't a big deal and I found myself more interested in other games.

But if you really need to ask us to tell you which game to "fall in love with" then it sounds like netiher game has really won you over, so unless you just need a game to stay in for a while maybe you should pass on both and look else where as well.

"Zenimax is the best mmo dev ever"

Shouldn't you at least wait for them to offically release/launch an MMO before making such a proclamation?

She reminds me of my dog.
Like the game, but don't really like the living story. Wish they used those resources else where.

Just shows how unprofessional gaming magazine staff is and why their "reviews" are so worthless.

This just goes to show why so many posts here are worthless. If the other person's views don't match someone's views exactly then then the personal insults fly. The posts that the OP referenced showed an actual respectful discussion by people and then the next post is the one above with the personal attacks flying.

And I see...... *gasp*

I see that I will most likely play this game, and I'll like it too!.. I'll like it until the day I don't like it anymore.

Woooow, some deep stuff right there.

I shake my magic eightball to see what it say's....."Don't bother reading this post". Ok, I move on to the next one.

Are those things not true?
Truth has no need for excuses, or NDA, or hiding anything - is that not the case?

A truthful person is like an open book, he has nothing to hide, no excuses to make.

You do realize that NDA protects them from other gaming companies stealing ideas.

What if you were creating something and you said their will be NDA and some turd comes by and breaks your NDA and pitches YOUR ideas to other company's and makes a fortune off what YOU had done, not them.

This is why NDA is there.

And yes. People with brains can figure out that the game is not finished.

Beta = Video game development is the process of creating a video game. Development is undertaken by a game developer, which may range from a single person to a large business. Traditional commercial PC and console games are normally funded by a publisher and take several years to develop. Indie games can take less time and can be produced cheaply by individuals and small developers. The indie game industry has seen a rise in recent years with the growth of new online distribution systems and the mobile game market.
The first video games were developed in the 1960s, but required mainframe computers and were not available to the general public. Commercial game development began in 1970s with the advent of first generation video game consoles and home computers. Due to low costs and low capabilities of computers, a lone programmer could develop a full game. However, approaching the 21st century, ever-increasing computer processing power and heightened consumer expectations made it difficult for a single developer to produce a mainstream console or PC game. The average price of producing a video game slowly rose from US$1–4 million in 2000 to over $5 million in 2006, then to over $20 million by 2010. However, mobile, web-based and indie games can cost much less.[1]
Mainstream PC and console games are generally developed in phases. First, in pre-production, pitches, prototypes, and game design documents are written. If the idea is approved and the developer receives funding, a full-scale development begins. This usually involves a 20–100 person team of various responsibilities, such as designers, artists, programmers, testers, etc.

The games go through development, alpha, and beta stages until finally being released. Modern games are advertised, marketed, and showcased at trade show demos. Even so, many games do not turn a profit.

Mobile games are, in general, much quicker to develop than the mainstream PC and console games. Usually mobile games are published as early as possible, often after five months of development, in order to see how they perform. Consequently, mobile games can still be developed by a lone developer. However, the largest game studios can have up to 100 people working for a single project.[1] Like PC and console games, many mobile games do not turn a profit.

NDA = A non-disclosure agreement (NDA), also known as a confidentiality agreement (CA), confidential disclosure agreement (CDA), proprietary information agreement (PIA), or secrecy agreement, is a legal contract between at least two parties that outlines confidential material, knowledge, or information that the parties wish to share with one another for certain purposes, but wish to restrict access to or by third parties. It is a contract through which the parties agree not to disclose information covered by the agreement. An NDA creates a confidential relationship between the parties to protect any type of confidential and proprietary information or trade secrets. As such, an NDA protects nonpublic business information.
NDAs are commonly signed when two companies, individuals, or other entities (such as partnerships, societies, etc.) are considering doing business and need to understand the processes used in each other's business for the purpose of evaluating the potential business relationship. NDAs can be "mutual", meaning both parties are restricted in their use of the materials provided, or they can restrict the use of material by a single party.
It is also possible for an employee to sign an NDA or NDA-like agreement with an employer. In fact, some employment agreements will include a clause restricting employees' use and dissemination of company-owned confidential information.

This is for everybody crying that there is no excuse a beta should do this or that. This is far from the way it will be released. i.e. FF XIV ARR, Neverwinter, SWTOR, DCUO, and many many more. And now those games are booming. And ALL their betas were S$%t. Don't bash NDA, respect it. It's preventing some turd from making an ESO type game that will turn us fans off the elder scrolls series. Guy's do your homework and deal with it. Things are here for a reason and every mmo, moba, mmorts, etc. will go through the same steps every single time.

Been on the MMO scene for a very long time, and I've seen companies like MMORPG.com and other review sites suck the **** of games that have been terrible, just because they have big names.

Age of Conan, Warhammer and Guild Wars 2 being the most notable. Anyone who was an MMO veteran when these games were releasing probably remembers thinking these games would be the next WoW, or the next Jesus Christ, etc. That's what the review companies were spouting.

And then you actually got to play the games... and yeah, we know the history.

My point is, why is it all of a sudden a game like ESO, which I thoroughly enjoy and think is so much better than anything that has released in years, is getting such terrible reviews, while games which almost no one enjoyed - received such AWESOME reviews?

What's going on? Did Zenimax not pay someone? Is this an organized plot by a competitor? I hate to be the conspiracy theory guy, but I don't understand. Or, is this just some sort of meme which has spread across the internet like wildfire, or doge? "ESO sucks, not worth $15, armor painted on, blah blah blah" (Anyone else notice the reviews all use the exact same terminology? I had never heard anyone say "armor painted on" before ESO, yet I've heard it in EVERY-SINGLE-REVIEW!)

I'm a skeptic, and I think some BS is going on..

I'm suspicious of this post....wait do you think...could it be...someone from Zenimax trying to discredit the bad reviews?

also its no longer time that we stick on 1 MMO for 5-7 years anymore. maybe we should just buy the mmo we like and play for the free month and begone with it.

well that's an interesting response, but I don't think that's what we are looking for.

Why do you keep putting "our" and "we" in YOUR posts? Do you speak for more than yourself?

Ya stoopid game company, they should know that captsammy should only pay 1 sub.

I can play any other MMO on multiple gaming machines and only have to pay for one sub as long as I am only logged into one of them at that time. It seems fair to ask if he is only logged into one system at a time why does he need to pay twice?
