Yes, the download is free, but if you play past the trial period, you are charged approx 30 dollars for the game. At least that's what it says on their web site.

Maybe if they didn't charge you over 30 dollars for a four year old game? I was going to try it, but not if I have to buy the game. Maybe letting people download it for free might get more people to try it.

Well, I almost tried this game. While I don't like giving my credit card to a company until I have decided to use their services, I was willing to do it to try this game. But then you want to charge 25 EUR (approx 31.5 USD) for a four year old game? Thanks but no thanks, I'll pass.

Maybe a little more research into what you were buying BEFORE you bought it would have helped. Don't you know anybody that knows about PC's? Did you look at what the game required and then maybe checked to see if the PC met those requirements? Did you even post a question here, where I bet more than one or two people know about PC's, asking what to look for? Did you just buy a DELL because it was on sale and looked pretty? Sounds to me like it's not the games fault.

I've been playing it on a system running Vista 64, and so far, I've had no problems at all.

On an open forum? You have GOT to be kidding. 

By the way, the game is great, and I'm having a hell of a lot of fun in it.

See, the troll know better. It knows better than the players who have played the game for 8 years. Knows better than the pilots who flew beta. But the troll is never wrong and it craves attention. It needs to be acknowledged as brilliant and all knowing. So the troll posts again and gets the same feedback. Desperate, the troll moves into stage 2 – playing the victim.

The troll goes to MMORPG.com and talks about the brutal community that is JG. How mean they are, how unfair they are and just how plain hurtful they are. A few people glom on to this and this helps feed its ego. But then, some players from the JG community respond here and that upsets the troll. How dare they have a thought! How dare they point out that JG is the best online community that they have ever known. So the troll discounts their comments based purely on the number of posts that they have made. How could anyone with so few posts be able to bring anything factual and insightful to the table. (Never mind the fact that the troll has an infantile number of posts on JGE compared to those who opposed his views – Pot, meet kettle).

Moral of the story? There are three.
1) Don’t disregard a game simply because of the inane ramblings of a forum troll.
2) RATHA loves numbered posts
3) Most importantly – don’t feed the troll.

 

So let me get this straight...

The econemy of America is not going so well...And it is a major issue. But it should not be repeated, since it has already been talked about? NO!  If something is an important issue, then it will be repeated and repeated until something is done about it.  Clearly, nothing is happening to make this community better.

By the way, the community DOES suck.  You say that the trolll knows better than thew players who played in beta.  Well hell, mabye it does! More than half of the people who are long time players of JG are saying they want it released in 2008, no matter how many bugs there are.  You are saying that these people know just as much as the troll, who says that they should take their time?

This game's community will bring it down...
By the way, YOU are the troll here, for you clearly have no idea about how bad it really is.

Actually it's just lurking, because they know hot to keep their mouths shut.

They know hot? Not sure what that means, but I don't post on these forums because the games I play have their own. What would be the point in posting here where you all just hang out  crying about games you don't seem to even play? Well, that and I usually play with actual real live friends, and don't need forums to have a life.

After reading several of your posts, and the responses, it is very clear you go into this looking for a fight, and make one if none exists. You obviously have not learned anything about the game and it's community, or you would have known that the KOS comment you got was nothing more than a passing IC (in character) comment. But I think the minute anyone disagrees with you, you start this "the game sucks and everyone is mean and hatefull" rant. What are you, a 12 year old girl going through puberty?

You know, on a scale of 1 to 10, my PvP skills probably put me at a three, on a good day, but if I saw you ingame, I'd shoot you too.

1. Anyone can kill anyone, anywhere. If you are good enough. If you suck, you die. If you want to shoot your friends, go ahead. Just don't be surprised if they shoot you back.

2. When you lose, and your space ship goes boom, you lose everything. It's a space ship. It's in space.

3. Combat is anywhere someone shoots you. Any sector, anytime.

4. You get to hear the person you killed squeal.

5. There are no instances in JumpGate. It's all the same space for everyone. Items can be built by the stations, or by the players.

6. You can't build a house in space, but you can build a station.

7. Never bothered to count them.

8. There are sectors, but everyone uses the same sectors.

9. JumpGate does not have instances.

10. Squads can have as many people as you wish. As for groups that share experience, only two.

11. All ships are single pilot ships. Are there flying vehicles? Did you read anything about this game? It's space based ship to ship combat. The fastest way to move is to let someone blow up your ship. The escape pod is the fastest thing in the game.

12. Again, space game. There are space stations.

13. What points? This is a skill based game. Your player gets levels that allow it to buy better ships, and better gear. Your skill will determine how good you are. As I said before, if you suck, then you will die.

Maybe you should just wait a month before reading the reviews? And by the way, so far, I am really enjoting this game.
