This makes me laugh.

As if some bugged quests and some duping are reasons enough to quit?  If you really like the game you play anyway...no?

Poeople really have a short memory when it comes to releases.

Yes it has gold sellers, dupers, spammers and some quests thats not working at realese. The question you need to ask yourself is still if you enjoy the game?

If you think ranting on MMORPG.com about how unfair things are and ragequitting will help these things get fixed faster you are WRONG.

You say "some duping" but when those "some duping" turn into wrecked economy? Cause, since this is an mmo, the economy matters. As in, it is an integral part of the game. I can deal with buggy quests. It's harder with a mess of an economy and the looming prospect of rollbacks. Frankly I have not experianced a rollback in years. That was a thing 10 years ago, but in recent times I think only Neverwinter resorted to it.

What does the community really know besides somebody has been duping?

If they ban the accounts with obscene ammounts of money and rare items it will be minimal fallout on the economy IMO.

Rare items will turn into bad items as gear progression goes on, so i cant see an issue there?

Will some get away and profit on this? Yes im sure they will...but its still just pixels and it wont help them much in the long run. So why let it bother you? I cant see myself dying more in PvP because of this...... PvE?...does it matter?

All i see is a company struggling at realease because their beta crowd has held back info on dupes until release. Gamebreaking?...i dont think so, its more annoying that i cant play today because they have taken the servers down to fix it.

When it comes to rollbacks its annoying as hell, but if you ragequit because of that ill just laugh. Sorry :)

"their beta crowd has held back info on dupes until release" Really now...So it is the fault of the players that these dupes exist?  It's the fault of the customer that the product does not work as intended? Even though the dupe bugs were reported. Often. Everywhere. Prior to release.

What is your point exactly? Do you want all of us to stop playing to teach them a lesson?

Yes they released the game without it beeing completly finished. Wich developer hasnt done that to start earning money? Every day the game is in production they loose money. Its simple math IMO. I wish things were differently, but they arent.

I do enjoy the game besides the flaws, so ill keep playing.

You however are free to ragequit if you want, but it wont help you or the developer...

I've pretty much have come to expect harsh criticism against this game--- forums, gaming sites, etc.   I do see quite a bit of complaining in zone chat followed up by "stfu and play WoW " or other such nonsense.  Seems as if people have lost the ability to converse with one another in a respectful manner.  I am a bit shocked at the degree of negativity towards ESO overall.  Heck, one of my hubby's coworkers wouldn't even try it due to everything he heard.  He finally picked it up and now loves it.  Seems that ESO is the game to hate.

Personally, I can't be happier with my experience.  I've encountered my share of bugs to include losing my bank spaces that have never been restored nor me reimbursed.   I've encountered a handful of bugs and other glitches that have been resolved logging out.   I'm a bit unhappy with the gold spam and the bots camping dungeons.   The dupe bugs are also pretty bad since I don't like things that impact the economy.  In the greater scheme of things, ESO has been a positive experience and I'm having fun.  I've played a few games that have been horror shows at launch.....Vanguard anyone?   Loved Vanguard but most of my friends moved on and couldn't get through the bugs and growing pain of that game.

Hopefully Zenimax finds their stride and gets everything under control.  With WildStar just around the corner, I'm sure that every bit of gaming angst will be directed towards that for a bit.   Gamers are a hard bunch to please and I don't envy the job of a developer.

This was a good post.

Despite the negativity i still enjoy the game. And i have faith the bugs and dupes wont be gamebreaking in the long run, AND that they will get everything under control.

If people want to find excuses to quit just do it and move on.

This makes me laugh.

Whats strange about this mmo is you get like great stuff for doing nothing yet that boss and the like you get maybe a white or nothing. I just did one with someone. They were waiting so we killed the things that make the boss spawn and those were really hard. The boss spawns and just a few hits its dead. Hmm the BOSS should be really hard.. lol how they miss this kind of stuff I dont know.

Still having fun.

He would have been hard solo. Or with a few people.

Yesterday i wiped 10x in a 43 lvl dungeon as a healer in a PUG group because people think they can stand still or not contribute or even move.. You know that red circle under your feet? Dont stand in it.. :)

World bosses are hard to balance because you never know how many people that will turn up, but they dont gove much xp or loot for the same reason.

The question i have to ask  myself is "will this ruin the game?"

Will the duped gold destroy the economy even if they manage to remove most of it?  (im uncertain here)

Are there any items duped now that will forever unbalance the game? (i dont think so)

Does the fact that some people have 50 enchanting because of duped materials annoy me? yes it does, but it doesnt ruin the game...

I personally wont stop playing because of dupes, and im certain it wont affect me in PvP either. Atleast not as time passes and higher tier gear gets introduced.

Whats sad about MMORPG gaming nowis that all the gold spammers, bots and now dupes takes the fun away for people just here to actually just play the game.

Tamriel Foundry is probably your best bet, lots of nice people there (lots of jackasses too). They can go on a bit childish if ZOS doesn't give them what they want **cough cough** API *cough*

Their guild on ESO is always active with lots of friendly people willing to help.

edit: You should be able to register an account no problem. TF is a fansite first and a guild second (or at least, it was).

Maybe its possible now, ill try again. I didnt get the invite mail the last time i tried.

Thanks mate!

Where do i post builds, discuss the game or discuss in game politics? I feel kinda lost atm.

Well certainly not posting here, where all the haters, losers and ex-mmo gamers who now troll and hate anything gather.

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/categories/EN-class - class skills section for example

Personally I find the forums ok.

They make my eyes bleed.

Seriously, im amazed that anybody can find it "ok".

How can anybody keep up to date from day to day With a forum like that?.

Reminds me of the scrolling textchat IG. Its moronic.

You may want to check out Tamriel Foundry http://tamrielfoundry.com/. Sounds like what you maybe looking for.

Ive tried subscribing here, i dont get accsess.

Its like a guild website. Im sure thousands are waiting to get in.

Shouldnt a game like TESO have a better website?

It just shows how important it is for modern mmo's to have a good forum.

It has bugs, its not Perfect and if you are really unlycky you will get affected by it. Most People wont.

It has less bugs than any MMO ive started from release, and ive played them all. People just have short memories.

So all rants aside, im an avid PvP'er that has done just about 3-4 days played time IG without much pvp yet. (and i have a wife, 2 kids and a job)

Im lvl 38, have 2 craftskills increasing each day. So yes im hooked.

All the kids crying about bugs etc are just kids. I dont even care if they are hardcore, been there done it. Most have beta burnout or are just mad :)

Ive even seen People quit because they didnt even bother to use half a brain to set up a build with skills that actually have som synergy, in other words that will keep you alive most of the time. Well good riddance..

If you like MMO's its worth the price just for trying it out IMO.

Bad official forums (unusable really), no Tags IG and no Names IG.

I have heard this comparison one too many times now.

The things that made Daoc pvp great were realm pride, server identity, and a continuous campaign.

Realm Pride: This was HUGE in Daoc. After a while people created toons on other servers to be able to experience other realms, but not before attaching themselves to one realm and hating the other two. This game made you proud to be part of your realm and hate the others with a passion. If your lands were being invaded by another realm you went out to kick their ass, period. You did not need any rewards to motivate you, it was for the shear pleasure of defeating and humiliating the enemy. Even the PvE played to this, the backstory making sure you knew what faction your allegiance belonged to and why you should hate the others. Does anyone here really identify with their faction in ESO? I can't even tell you what races are in each off the top of my head because who cares? Ask a Daoc fan what faction trolls were, or Britons, or Keens.

Server Identity: This megaserver, along with this campaign crap, has destroyed any sense of server identity. In Daoc when the Albs were attacking one of the first things was to ask who is leading them, which guild(s), etc. Or how about the watch out in this area if you are solo (insert name of badass facestabbing infiltrator here) is ganking.  You always knew who the other side was, you knew their "doctrine" and tactics, and they knew yours. It made for interesting battles because you could always use the fact the enemy knew you to plot diversions and other tricks. You also knew you own server, you knew your guilds, the most skilled allies you had that you would want to go to war with, etc. You did not only know those in your guild but players on your server, period. It was truly a social event every time you logged in.

Continuous campaign: The war in Daoc never ended. You could not jump ship unless it was to reroll to another server. You either made do with what you had, made alliance, or your life sucked. This created an awesome competitive environment. This whole GW2 thing where your war only lasts x amount of time is just pathetic. It has turned it into a cybersport rather than a war.

This is not Daoc and never will be, just stop.

/rant off

I totally agree with this. Ive had a good time trying out Teso so far and i will probably coninue playing because its nothing else on the market right now. (37 Templar atm)

And no, going back to Daoc with the current stealth system and TOA just isnt fun, it never actually was. But the Dread servers was fun back in the days, and the classic ones.

Things i find lacking in Teso.

Forums?...where? The official ones arent used, and fan based forums are selektive invite it seems. Ive tried applying to some but dont get answers. So where do i post my builds? Where do i communicate with the community?

Seriously, they really messed up by "giving" the Control of forums to the community. There is no way for me to feel im a part of something. (feel free to give me advice here if i have missed something)

Where are the big Guilds, the famous gankers, the leaders etc? With the current UI i feel totally isolated from the game. I cant see or relate to People i meet on a regular basis and create relationships, because i dont know who People are, or which guild they are in for that matter.

I cant really seperate good People from the bad either. Or good Guilds from the bad, because its all no "tag/name" > better immersion. I really thought this could be a good thing myself, but all it has done is isolated me from the game.

Where do i go from here? Im lvl 37, guildless (by choise) and feel like i have no place to post about the game exept maybe here...wich really is a Waste of time =P

And with no tag in pvp we really miss out on the rivalry between both single characters and guilds. In my opinion they really messed up going this way. Right now Its just mindless slaughter that nobody cares about. I can buy a FPS that does it better to be honest.

In games like this the community (forums etc for IG politics ) , Guilds and personal pride is everything.

Sadly this game has none.

They better fix it or go belly up.

Its 1 European megaserver and 1 Us megaserver i think.

If/when you download the Client you will be asked what server you want to play on.

Im not saying im missed.

Im asking why i initially got turned off by GW2 pvp?  And fact is that MMO's that turn people of from the start will struggle tenfold to get them back.

I tried doing alot of BG runs, but it was mostly DPS out of whack and every time i got a good 1 vs 1 going i got added on, or my team mates added my opponent. It was just to small BG's to do anything creative.

WvWvW was just pointless. It was running around zerging keeps back and forth with no feeling of accomplishment at all. Not Realm, guild or personal accomplishment. The keep you defended would fall as soon as the bigger enemy zerg appeard on the horizon.

Sure you can say im here to bash GW2 as that other guy bashed DAoC because i dont know what im talking about. As he didnt know what he was talking about. But ill tell you that ive played all games that had some sort of FFA pvp and most other mmo's that has som other sorts of PvP. But im not playing this one. So why is that?

Is it possible that you....just dont like the game.

And its fine saying "I dont like it" but when you expand it to "every PvPer" it kinda sounds a bit egoistic.

And when bigger force arrives in most cases keep falls. Its how its supposed to be. In fact it would be ultra boring if you could bunker yourself in the keep with few people and still win (which happens, just to remind you, if attacking force is true random zerg).

As anything else in GW2 its designed to be dynamic and fast paced and its great, crapload people enjoy it and theres still crapload guilds/players from DAOC/WAR etc. playing it.

You dont enjoy it, dont play it, plain and simple, but its just you and only you and you dont speak for anyone else.

[mod edit]

Its a fact that most pvp guild i know of dont play GW2. I know a couple large pvp guilds that do play GW2, but they have taken this path in earlier games as well. (playing pvp in themepark games)

And yes i dont like the game, for alot of reason as well. I looked forward to it as most people did, but i was hugly dissapointed.

When it comes to WvWvW keep fighting its all out of whack, if you cant see this then i really cant help you. Some of you people just arent beeing objective about this game. And thats really your problem, luckily.

Yes im sure alot of former people from DAoC and War play WvWvW, but its mosly because the community is starved more than GW2 delivering.

I personally dont play anything right now. Exept single player games. Mostly because im at a total loss at what to play to have fun pvp. I may start up Darkfall when it goes live, but beta isnt fun because of constant server wipes. And that in itself speaks volumes about GW2 pvp. When i would rather do nothing than invest time in it.

[mod edit]

I have seen some incredibly skilled players pull off some amazing things in wvw and in tournament play in PvP... Can't see how anyone could say skill isn't rewarded in PvP unless all they are looking for is a cookie after they win.. I will say more incentives overall in PvP would be nice and get more people to keep playing it but more incentives doesn't change the skill factor

Agreed as it is in all games. The problem with GW2 and the "pvp" crowd is that it initially doesnt attract pvp'ers.

More dedicated pvp'ers and pvp guilds = better competition.

I myself quit early because i found both the BG's and World pvp shallow and zergy.

Hmm. Amazing. You have managed to get just about everything wrong in this post.

Did you ever play DAoC before bashing it?

Good players were good players, both in group and solo. DAoC also had FFA servers wich you could have lots of 1 vs 1 fights or even pull of good wins outnumbered.

You come across as a guy that refuses to see whats lacking in GW2 pvp. I personally love pvp, but stopped playing WvWvW because it was no fun.

Your guild steamroll all others because nobody cares. The good pvpers and the good pvp guilds just arent playing GW2 or care to get organized in GW2.

Not attracting you =/= not attracting PvPers

You are not beginning and end of things. As, FYI, theres crapload of PvPers and dedicated PvP guilds in GW2 and a LOT of competition.

And yah, theres no 1 minute mezzes and stuns and such nonsense. And those arent missed.

Im not saying im missed.

I'd also be curious to see these players show some footage of them destroying in wvw like in the shatter cat videos or the one posted in this thread..

Yeah now go watch that video on the link I gave above and listen really hard for my laughter at your tears off in the distance. DaoC was a crap zergfest in a game so imbalanced that Hybernia held mass protests...take off the rose colored glasses, they are preventing you from learning how to play games.

I watched some of it. Let's say he is a great player and that was a great play. What did he gain from those kills? Not much. His effort is wasted. The server scores didn't change at all. In DAoC he would earn realm points (personal PvP progression), his kills would have been broadcasted to every ally's and enemy's chat, and his name would be visible to his enemies the whole time (fame). It was much more rewarding to play well.

Yep, spoken like a DaoC player...no mind at all for actual strategy or knowing the meaning of how to work in a group...when not in a group.

1 player holding up 10 players is 1 player taking 10 people away from helping their side. As the video states, it was made to show how a bunker elementalist is played...it was not made to show you how a god damn team works and as I stated in the above post, 1 BE can hold a large group while your team takes other objectives or delay a group from taking a position long enough for help to arrive.

You have no concept of battle tactics because you are a DaoC player, a war game where the war was in neverland, protected by invisible walls with weak class skills and zerg mentality. This is why my guild steamrolls others, we learned just how deep the classes are in this game, know battle tactics and do things like this which people like you think is stupid or pointless and you never EVER EVER learn why you keep losing.

BTW, PvPing for points or for other people knowing...thats carrot on a stick themepark crap for carebears. PvPers, real PvPers do it because its FUN...not for a reward...im not a dog that needs a scooby snack.

Hmm.

I am interested to hear from the rest of the MMORPG community on the subject of Camelot Unchained rating of 8.42.  How exactly are they rating a game this high when there is nothing other than a teaser trailer (showing no game what so ever) to go by?

In the vacum of whats supposedly meant to be good MMORPG's people see this kind of projects as a beacon of life ^^

I myself have becoma a cynic. So even if its tempting to belive some people will make a game as good as Asherons call 1, Shadowbane, DAoC etc as an AAA title nowadays, i wont.

I will never belive it before im atleast 50 hours gameplay in and ive hardly sleept because its that cool.

And that just wont happen. Ever. Again.

So to answer your question: Those ratings are made by unrealistic optimist's. ;)

One word:  Microtransactions

They are horrendous in this Game

Given the ridiculously high AD costs of maintaining your character--which only go up as you level--this is a make or break point in the game. I understand they need to make money somehow, and thus this will provide incentive for players to purchase Zen (other than cosmetics, of course). But unfortunately the current gain is pitiful compared to what you need to spend.

Slotting an enchantment or companion rune requires several thousand AD per slot, and that goes up as you level. Even simple stuff like ID Scrolls/Town Portal scrolls or Respeccing cost Astral Diamonds and thats just the mandatory stuff you wont ever have enough AD to purchase fluff items.

Given this type of system exists in most MMOs nowadays, enchantment will be necessary in the end game. Also, take a look at the mount training skills for levels 40 and 60. They cost ~768,000 and 4.125 million AD, respectively. I'm sorry, but that's horrendously expensive for simple mount training. And please, before anyone rebuts with, "Well, that's OPTIONAL" or "You can farm them given enough time", think about that statement for ten seconds. Mount training, companion runes, and enchantments will all be necessary for any competitive player.

This needs to be addressed, or if there are more reliable and impactful ways to obtain AD, Cryptic/PWE should be more transparent about it. Our current known methods of obtaining AD boil down to the following: daily hour-long skirmish grinds, one hour-cooldown prayers, spending prayer-generated Ardent Coins on AD chests, and a vendor that sells AD for some epic item (the means by which you obtain this item are currently unknown).

Im willing to pay a sub to get past all this shit.

Is that possible?
