Now how cool would it be to walk into a tavern in WoW, sit at a table, challenge another player and play Hearthstone from inside the game! Now thats a feature worthy of an MMO!

Actually on the first day blizz posted about heartstone, this was one of the few questioned asked. But of course blizz botch the idea and claim we want person in wow to not be distracted.. LMAO and yet still pet battles are played more than pvp and raid combined..

This idea reminds me of those mini checkers game in Assassins Creed they have in the bar, where the camera would then zoom in to start the game. So in a tavern if would zoom into a heartstone board and kick things off.

Will see how it goes.

Blizzard ditched 40 man raids for a reason.

Highly doubt the trend of half the raid doing all the work and the other half being dead weight will change though.

Dont worry, there taking a similar path to blizz.  Next up, person will start ditching becuase the see the best gear is from 40man raid which the masses will start to feel left out then start to jump ship.. The devs will make a solution of smaller raid sizes and say the game needed the adjustment as persons, didn't have the commitment that 40man raid demanded..

How i long for the day when the best gear doesn't come from raid, sure you can still keep raids in for person who like that content but gating the best of the best to one feature is just sooo outdated.. Why cant there be a best of the best solo or 5man group content that takes 2weeks to complete (a stage each day) and at the end you get a armor or weap choice that just the same rarity as raiding provides (not less, not more powerful).. sure you can still do raid as it would probably be the faster way to gear up.

Reward the person who raid the faster gearing process..

I dont have a problem with the sub model, i have a problem with business ONLY offering the sub model in this day and age. The MMO market players now tend to move more quickly than they do 5-10yrs ago and it has nothing with being a good game or not.. Vets of the genre may talk how mmo's now-a-days are just cashing in etc, and do nothing to keep the players hook etc.. true words is its freaking hard to keep gamers hook in today's distracting society, WoW came out the right time no doubt, and i doubt if you release WoW today if would climb that high..

Having other payment model is the way to go in this short attention span of casual mmo gamers. Seems, what they prefer is pay $15 a month, quit, hope you come back, pay another $15 for 1month and hope the fire re-kindles and u stay a bit longer..

I think the problem lies in the server tech these company uses when releasing a mmos.. First i don't get why companies doubt there product @ launch (Looking @ Blizz and Square as a few culprit.)  Sure the launch rush is no joke and as such, i would think buy now they have a que system early out, if a server is bombarded with more than 20 (rough #) login request then a que is triggered..

Square claimed at first there server limit was 2k in the major city areas, which is no joke, then they had to ramp it up to 5k.. Now what if there tech was set @ 10k, then you ramp down or up in later months once rush wore off and you get an idea where you stand...

Its just a baffle that these companies keeps miss judging the launch hype as per say of there mmo..

Even though there was a time where this was not in most MMOs, it has become a staple for the genre. I do not understand (especially how obsessive Anet is about their games) why this was not in at launch?! Either way it is great news.

FFXIV's Duty Finder is working great and that was part of their launch (now if you could only log in consistently each time LOL)

LoL.. guess the Duty finder is there re-branding..

Also, its amazing that the server caps weren't set up for high pop and then ramp down after words..

One of the faster server ramp up i've seen was @ the launch of RIFT, within 3days more servers were coming online..

True.. I might get hammered on this, but it should become a staple now in the industry that a LFG is needed EVEN @ LAUNCH..  Yes i get the old MMO nostalgia of asking for group in chat etc, but having that option only isn't convenient for the wider populace.. Sorry if you can't have a LFG tool @ launch or 3months after interest die for some persons..

Also how hard is it to make said feature while the game is in development anyway...

A bit off topic;

Do you guys realize how frickle the MMO market has become?  Its also a wise thing in EQnext going f2P, as I just don't see Sandbox MMO getting bigger than Minecraft.

I just feel the next Big MMO will have more sandbox elements than past.. Going full Sandbox is MAJOR risky.

I played for about three weeks at launch and found that the combat got really annoying by about level 30.   Couple that with a terrible community and mediocre content and there was simply very little reason to continue playing.

Going F2P certainly wouldn't help to address any of those issues so there was really no reason for many people to go back.

Is not that the game is bad, the thing is it fades fast, not to mention things can't progress without Korean approval.

Why you think WoW is the most popular (loosing it now) MMO in Asian market. Because Asian MMOs dont know how to last or keep you interested long enough, that why they pop up so easily. They all have this grand vision but not executed well, Tera is no exception..

production doesn't look high.. so ill pass

while all on the wish list is OK.. You have to take into consideration the budget of the title. Which nowadays is a major, major factor in MMO development..

1) The old days work because budget was small enough for a mmo to survive on maybe 70K+ subs or free players.

2) Sorry but MMO are all about appealing to the masses and offering a certain level of convenience...

3) EqNext can't be hard to the point of requiring a group, group play wont last for the longevity of the game unless you have a convenience tool set in place to make it easier.  Can you imagine i'm on a so so server with no one wants to group with me... PFFT

4) Have 3 types of MEGA Servers, PVE, PVP, and roleplaying.. Enough with this single server tech, then your gonna ask use to pay for transfer when population gets low..

5) Please do away with raiding being the top reward content.. @ max level there should be quest that one can undertake that strecthes for a week or 2 because said NPC to continue the quest only appears 1per wk for each week in the month...

6) Not too demanding game engine, and a customizable UI.. WoW worked because most of, if not all pc could run it...

...So i guessing that's one (if not the major) reason, why Titan was started over and put on SLOW MO development and i'm guessing sure hit titles like the next WoW Xpac and next D3 Xpac went into overdrive development (got more staff) to put them out faster to recoup the costs and make profit...

Activision im sure can't wait for the next CoD and Destiny to go out...

Lol, some person might find the simplest game awesome.. As such I'm happy for those who will enjoy this game. As for myself, I'll play it no doubt but I'm not expecting it to be the next big mmo...

I think the next big mmo will use cloud tech, to do stuff like adjust AI on the fly, bosses have a set skills but use them randomly making to just stand there and kill stuff, etc.. can't bother listing all the ideas.
@ Flyby
Nope they still persist.. going f2p has help them but also let known problems escalated more.. the team in the US just control localization and can set up there own events and comical stuff etc.. but as for other major development stuff they have to wait..
So from all these comments, it take it that it's fun but need a bigger budget (aka more devs)..

Really hope Soe helps them more with dev and not just publishing..
I have a strong feeling D3 Xpac will remove the AH... As I do now get to understand the new D3 director is the one who was given the job of the console versions..

I just think they are retooling it to run on consoles now... Honestly the pc mmo market is very unstable, it's becoming more like the Korean/Chinese mmo market (lots of choice but only a few makes the cut) and there is just so much money to go around.

I have no doubt EQ will be good but will it be able to keep today's mmo gamers attention for more than a couple months before they move on to the next "flavor of the month"..

And yes D4 or the Xpac to D3 will move as much or the same as D3.. there are alot of true blizz fans out there..

Also person need to uderstand that mmo degrade over its life not generally gets better and the more it goes along the more person you want it to appeal to. I can bet blizz wants Wow to have the life span the Eq 1 has going for it and all indication is that it will, because once it goes F2p and server merges happen that will be another major increase in players..
By the sound of it seems mostly the engine engineers/programmers and a few artist stayed.

But I can't help but think this has something to do with blizz now wanting to get more into the console market...
Titan was always been develop as a f2p game, blizz themselves said it would be silly to launch another sub game in today's market (but then again they could have gone the hybrid payment model)..

Blizz which now has to answer to shareholders, maybe got asked to release titan on console as well and seeing Sony console is more open to the likelihood of mmo, why not take the time and retool it to launch on ps4 also.. Blizz fan won't go away on the pc (not by the look of the selling of there games) but why not try to reach a different crowd.
I don't think Sandbox style mmo is the future, and honestly I don't know what is, because most (not all) mmo players nowadays just move on to the next "IT" mmo, even if the mmo that comes has good stuff going for it.. the market is much more unstable now than it was when WoW launch, and seeing this I think blizz decide why not pegged titan to also launch on consoles and see if they can strike gold again.

@whoever says the parent company wants to dump Blizzard since they become lazy and don't innovate enough. Well of course you would look to dump them, because you generally sell a company when they are worth something more than you pay for and if your looking to rid yourself out of the gaming biz which they have been wanting to do ever since they got there money worth. Blizz is still a sure fire (as sales of there game speaks for themselves), the major problem is and I think it will always be that way until Ea buys them out, it's that they take there sweet time to release stuff...

These guys have it easy thanks to Wow, d3 and SC2.. after all they are in business to turn a profit and while we as long time gamers feel they have lost there way/drive. It seems they have picked up more fans than they have lost, as there games continue to move millions of units.

LOL i guess they don't.. and after you multiply it by 8, multiply it again by 12...  Those other F2p games in the west should be happy WoW isn't loosing fast enough for blizz to make it totally F2P, because blizz will cut into there market again..

Not surprised. If you follow the blue dev posts/tweets for this game over the last few months you'd really get the impression that the devs of the game are out of touch with the players. When something is wrong they either say it isn't or simply ignore the problem. They come off as arrogant & like a nanny-state to communicating with the playerbase. Well, the facts are in now that their approach isn't working!

If they do most of what the players suggest things would be worse off.. And yea some of what a few players suggest would be ok and best but remember the problem lies in do you take what "X" is saying and expect the broader populace to accept the change?  Also remember said change might not happen right away but might be released in another expansion..

I am honestly surprise they have this much still playing {i still play also}, with the gating of dailies etc. But i do get why the east is loosing sub faster because the east have finally released some quality f2p games.  In the West quality MMO are hard to come by f2p or not.

@ norsehealer

You said it best bro.. It's paid convience
