I almost feel as if i wrote the OP its so true for me as well, like exactly. 

I find myself wasting time in Path of Exile and LoL waiting for SimCity to hold me over until Final Fantasy 14 ARR and hopefully all will be good for a while there. Just getting the occasional MMO itch and find myself browsing these forums from time to time longing for the golden MMO days. Why did we go from having 3-5 options down to like 1ish?

FFXI is dead and gone, going to have to deal with that. Closest would be EQ/EQ2 or actually FFXI. There hasnt been anything deep or complex in the genre for about 5+ years. 

You clearly never went through AoC or AO launches. This one is amazing in comparison. Patience is a virtue. 

If your referring to TERA i was shocked when i heard it. I wouldnt say offended, more like in utter disbelief. I will be leveling on the beta and will take advantage of it but ive never hard of it happening in MMO releases.

Ive been struggling to find something for the past year. The wait is almost over with Aion going F2P and Tera/Secret World coming out... but as for right now? Good luck. If you find something worthwhile let me know lol.

The class system of FFXI combined with the talent point system of Rift and the Raids of WoW.

From what I've read I am really interested in the concept. It kind of sounds like a Silent Hill MMO combined with the Guild Wars skill system.  Other than that I do not know much about the game. I was tempted to Preorder but TERA came out first so they get my money.

Also after the dismal launch of Rift and SWOR, I think I'll wait and see how endgame is and what people think about it before I dive in.

Theres also the issue of EA....Not a huge fan...
