With the soon to be released Black prophecy I think NetDevil needs to rethink their game strategy because they will be offering a game to people that will have a monthly fee and BP will be F2P. That will take a lot of users from them and will impact there business. I'm sure that is a reason for most of the delays, especially when you read what Reakktor has plans to do to BP when it is out. If JGE doesn't come out this year I think they will be in trouble, because the market will start to fill up with space games.

We will be lucky to see it this year. I know the anniversary of NetDevil canceling beta is coming up in June. But NetDevil did say they will have some news coming up at the next game trade show in June.... so we'll see, maybe this year :)

No capships. But players will be able to construct clan bases and they say that actual avatars on space stations and or clan bases after release at some point.

It has been put out in press releases that Black Prophecy store will not have items that you cannot attain while playing the game. I would hope they don't go back on this statement and they said the majority of the store would consist of items to help you level and give you the edge in PvP/PvE.

Haha Dark and Light. I played that game and it's too bad what happened to the game but they shouldn't have used that engine without permission. But soon Infinity will be able to use D&L slogan of the biggest game you have ever seen :)

I doubt it highly, space gamers are a different breed of gamer and generally want accuracy, complexity and realism. What will make JGE a success is staying true to the space sim games and listen to the community and make your game around that.

ND initially didn't do beta in June because of all the customer feedback on what they expected. If it has taken them roughly another 6mos to add some features then how bare was the game that they were going to beta? I want to see a solid game so take the time needed to get it right, just do your fans a favor and make regular weekly updates on the website.... isn't that the community managers job :)

Well at least STO is in BETA niether JGE or BP are at this point yet. Hoping that we will see a beta announcement from both games before the end of the year but I doubt it.

CodeMasters is a decent publisher, there is a lot worse out there. Do I see myself playing JGE for four years probably not. It would need to have sandbox style universe and it being totally open for me to just call it home forever. JGE does have a lot of things going for it though, so looking forward to play this one when it is released.

You could play the other and just play the tech demo of this and see which one is more superior :)

Would be nice to see the Beta start before the end of the year. Polish is always nice on a game , but it also really increases the expectations of the consumer.

Would like to see Reakktor announce they gotten a publisher soon. I will feel pretty good about its chances of making it if it can happen this year.

I don't think BP is going to be an open sandbox game at all. But I mean i look at sandbox game as no load screens, landable planets, total ship customization, free and open pvp everywhere and a universe where I can align to a star and let it go for a week and see where I am :)

EVE has a lot of good qualities and I would like to see a lot of them in other space games. I especially like the skill training system in EVE.

Well people can have their opinions. It's just nice to know that ND pulled the beta back for JGE back in June. I would probably say ND would be dealing with the death of JGE already if they would have come to beta not ready and missing things players want. I truly do think that ND is taking in all the user feedback and trying to put in as much as they can before beta launch.

First impressions are the key, regardless of what you read before you play it. But once you play JGE for the first time for a few hours you will form an opinion. Now support of a product is another key thing for me and I think ND will handle that ok. With BP not acquired funding yet that project needs more than JGE atm because the forums are dying down.

People are right the MMO market is saturated and it is the survival of the fittest and will JGE be posed to survive that is the key. JGC did well for itself.

Yeah after that interview and the info, I feel better that JGE is progressing well. I would like to see JGE at the end of the year but doubt that will happen. I just want to be able to play in the beta when it finally happens or get into the beta by Pre-Order.

I would have thought they would have fixed anything that was preventing them from going to Beta, which was this past June they cancelled. But NetDevil is cutting it close if they want to get the game out by the end of the year if not we'll see it next year.

Personally there is a lot of MMO's awaiting funding so they get published (like BP) and maybe it is the same thing with JGE. Netdevil needs the game to be very complete because people are picky and if people start throwing around the negative comments after they play beta or game isn't feature complete they way people expect at launch it could cost NetDevil a bit of coin.

Ah who needs publishers... just get the code done and offer it up as a download off the website and pay for the client.

This will be the one space game to rule them all when it comes out. But we will probably have to wait until end of 2010 or 2011 sometime.
