Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Release Moved Back
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/01/07 6:35:33 PM
I cant say i m really surprised, in the mmo world things tend to take longer than the devs always think they will |

I love the game, i was a huge d2 fan so there s really no way i wouldnt like it, and i think it will be a HUGE hit despite the sayings of the MMO community, but well diablo and d2 were always frown upon by the MMO community, much like Guild wars, and they were great games, and huge hits. |

WAR in comparison to other MMO's coming out.
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/25/07 5:02:33 PM
Let me post my opinion on those future games WAR - Have my hopes on this one! Darkfall - It will be one of two things, Vaporware, or a huge lie about the features and a huge flop in the end (DnL like) Chronicles of Spellborn - Sounds good, huge character customization and a diferent combat sistem, looks interesting. Age of Conan - I wish this one will be any good, but the devs of AO dont sit well with me... I just cant seem to trust them. Pirates of the Burning Seas - Looks like a nice game, but i wonder about the success, there isnt such a big pirate lobby thing... time will tell i guess Aion - that's prolly one of those games i m the least interested... nothing new, you can have wings and fly in CoH/V and if i want to play an asian grinder, i will play L2, why play pale imitations? Fury - Well no PvE guildwars makes me wonder why should i play that game, when GW got it all + PvE |

Garriot &TR: the right man in the wrong place
General Discussion « Tabula Rasa 9/16/07 1:53:04 PM
Am i the only one to think this whole thread doesnt make sense, since the game is far from being an FPS or an action oriented shooter, it is an mmorpg in the true meaning of the term, somewhat turn based... |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: PAX Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/06/07 8:22:25 AM
In the exhibition hall, I jumped into a 7 on 7, playing a squishy mage on a floating shield. I had slows, dots, buffs, heals and I was targeted a lot. Gee... I wonder why. We went into a scenario with four capture points. We captured the first and the Greenskin team figured out where we were re-spawning. I kept trying to rally my team into going after the next objective instead of engaging the enemy to no avail. So I played support. Buff, slow, dot, heal, rumbled, re-spawn. Combat was fast, as was power regeneration.
I think the author was playing a magus, and thought she was with the order, and even worst... thought she was buffing and healing the order while actually debuffing and damaging them... No wonder the order won... and no she didnt win... she just thought she did... sigh |

It's from someone who actually played a zealot... and if you read the 2nd part of the link, the writer actually talks about all classes, and one of them is the Zealot. SO THE ZEALOT IS A MELEE/HEALER!!! This is taken from the 2nd part of the link above... Zealot - Hands down, my favorite class not just in this game, but in any MMO from UO to date. We've all heard Mythic talk about how casters will be able to hold their own in melee, and I'm sure that like me, you've smiled politely while thinking to yourself "BS." However, 5 minutes into playing my level 21 Zealot, I had an epiphany - they're not just capable of holding their own in melee. They're bloody freaking good at it. I'm not talking about taking hits on the chin, ripping your opponents to shreds. That's far too simplistic. Zealots, on the other hand, are one of the most beautifully innovative and complex careers in recent memory. The Harbinger I was most fond of reduces all damage done by a whopping 25%. After that, I'd put down a ritual which debuffed opponents considerably. Predictably, a melee class would charge at me, and get hit with a debuff the second they entered the ritual circle. My own buff, a Mark of Chaos, boosts my fighting skills by a good amount. The speed with which I was able to drop enemies with auto-attack after my debuffs, buffs, and DoTs were stacked was pretty surprising. I barely even needed to heal. There were also some very powerful nukes (my eyes popped out of my skull when I saw the numbers on the Tier 3 morale ability for the zealot, I can't remember what it was called, but goddamn that thing was amazing), most of them in the Morale section. It's not that the Zealot is any better at melee combat than any other caster, but didn’t seem nearly as prone to interrupts. As of now, it's definitely my career of choice - hopefully Black Guard will be up to the task of luring me away once I get to try them out. If they end up being as cool as the Zealot, there's a good chance I'll be playing this game for years to come. Hope it helped! |

Auto Assault: Final Day for Auto Assault
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/01/07 6:54:46 PM
The really sad part is that it sets an example for Devs who try to do diferente games instead of always the same fantasy thingy... The game was pretty nice, low marketing and a no publicity launch took its toll on the game. A very Sad day for MMOs. |

I would say we need a vampire/werewolf/ghost MMO from the Story teller setting from White Wolf; and i would love to see a game in the dark world of Berzerk or Claymore manga/anime |

I love your way of making up stuff Fion, if you ask anybody who played WAR at any show and ask them if it plays or look like WoW they will tell you it doesnt, and if you compare screenshots from one and the other, you can see huge diferences, just because they have similar settings doesnt mean they are the same... The worst thing is, you will prolly be one of the firsts to play WAR and love it when it's released even while you kept trashing it.... hypocrisy ftw. |

Do you see any class from the other armies that can actually heal right of the bat? no, hell the Warrior Priest for example is more of a buffer than a healer, and he 's the empire healing class... Don't expect another "healing" class for the high elves. |

What should I do in the meantime?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/19/07 5:33:04 PM
I got a nice original idea... why don't you "gasp" read some books, some Anne McCaffrey, Robin Hobbs, Michael Moorcock, H.P. Lovecraft, etc etc etc, so many books, so little time... |

Originally posted by Celestian Oh the irony... and then i was hoping to read something on topic... silly me... My post was that everybody should be able to play the game on equal footing out of the box, and your post is a complete waste of space... If you feel that way, sell your house, your car, everything and give the money to an institution... hope you'll feel better about yourself. |

People who rely on macros or questionable UIs to play a game are one of 2 things, lazy, or have physical/mental problems... you can say all you want about anyone being able to use those "free" programs to stay competitive, but in the end, we shouldnt have to. |
