For me its simple - I see micro-transactions and I stop reading.

Simple...

Like many others I stopped reading after seeing microtransaction :(

I know if I could stick to spending just what I would on a monthly then it would be fine, but surely with this model those with money to burn can buy their way to greatness (or at least get a decent leg up) - sorry not for me but I wish them well.

AC2. It was a decent game imo that was a cut different from the current mmos. It shouldn't have closed after all the work that had been put into it.

I agree AC2 was pretty damn good by the standards of the day - also it had Drudges!!

Shame they messed up when they listed the cap :(

BTW Kazzer, LOTRO isn't cancelled

It certainly is a nice looking game - the dwarven halls realy caught my eye in beta and as you say its come along since then.

I only heard about this game yesterday when reading MMO Magazine - looks interesting and ticks a couple of boxes for me.

Given how long its been in development its a shame the MMORPG didn't find it first - this site is my usual first stop for MMO news and now I'm wondering what else I've missed!!

It's sad how sloppily put-together it looks. Hopefully it's not an indication of SOE's level of commitment to project Vanguard...

Thats true because its a great game and while its nice to see them doing anything its a shame they couldn;t have taken the time to make it polished.

I really hoped GW would at least have researched DaoC enough to know GOA = BAD!!

Not that Mythic would have warned them :(

I would accept a console port ONLY if there was no gamepad support.  XBox users want to play an MMO?  Plug in a keyboard and mouse.

Definitely - I couldn't play an MMO via gamepad, that said I was curious how it would work... I should have tried DDO like that :)
I thought that you could get a keyboard/muse for the 360 - if so it would make a great platform due to being easier to program due to standard hardware.
Sounds like a griefer ganker's heaven - one to avoid I think.
Seems like we go through this every other thread, but credit to the OP, this is the best one so far :)

I have to say though - LotR is graphically the superiour, but having played both I'm stikcing with V:SoH as its a better MMO.

Anyway whichever game you go for enjoy it and try not to bash others.

I'm not sure about fog but theres some pretty creepy green atmospherics near Vascals Exchange

STFU or buy a new record.

No I've not a "Vanboi", I'm just sick of reading the same tired boring cr*p over and over again!

try upgrading to win xp sp2.

And get rid of the shit gfx card!

oh and btw get a decent processer. nobrot

Why when I read that did an old Dennis Leary song come to mind?
Glad to see rescues work out of combat - very useful :)
Those two screenshots where beyond terrible If you wanna promote Vanguards graphics post some good screenshots next time.
LOL, those aren't screenshots they're portraits!

Silly fellow :)
Why is the acceptable excuse for anything lacking "its in beta"??

We had it with VSH, now LoTR - why give the devs the breathing room by using that same tired three line get out?
I must admit I always game with a couple of RL mates so they add to the traffic, but I've found quite a few people in Thestra on Infinium.
I have no idea about the rest though.

Bottom line is aside from great character customization and pretty landscapes VG doesnt have much living content to offer.

Sorry I cannot agree - having played both Vanguard feels like a true MMO, LoTR does not.

VG has depth, a huge playing area thats well populated... oh christ I won't go on as everyone here has read this again and again and again...
