Star Wars: The Old Republic: Sith Juggernaut Player's Guide

the juggernaught in its dps speccs is fairly easy to use, lot of hp, some cc and good damage. The tanking aspect on the other hand demands a healer and a group to support for successful pvp-gameplay, either you have a healer and you kick ass or youl be the one being kicked, over and over again :-) |

the greater the hype, the greater the expentations... which generally attracts a lot of folks but then leave it as soon as theyve realised that "hey this game isnt what I wanted to play. Ala AoC/War ex |

Dont know what you been up to but Im reaching the point were Ive been online longer since I maxxed out then I did as I leveled up/aka following the story. Also why would you be satisfied with completing just 1 story arc? |

Its all about making the right choices, picking the right class (because obviously not all classes will be able to solo this, in fact Im betting only the tank classes will be able to solo mid range/same lvl bosses, Im fairly certain of that) |

so pick a class were using pets is sort of volaintary, like bounty hunter/sith warrior/ jedi knight/trooper... Id still go with either dps companons or healers but thats just a choice to choose to do that, if your still having a hard time go for biochem crafting and stock up on medpacs. Alt play in groups, this eliminates the need for companions all together |

Basilisk drone (EU PVP server) think its the nr 1 populated one, got it in beta and rolled it for my main chr, its crowded and at times theres a que but... well worth the wait |
|

Yeah cause RP elements wouldnt be a waste of resources and time... Also even if there were no pvp at all there would still be unbalance disscussions and/or whining, perhaps even more because players wouldnt be able to face eachothers to judge their power(s) (for instance complaining about ability X that does 6k dmg while my ability Y which is my best only does 3k dmg etc.) SWTOR is mainly a PVE game with PVP features, I dont really understand the fuss here. |

Dont really want to jump on the hate wagon but... what does GW2 differ from other asian/korean games now again? The vid could describe pretty much any other mmo out on the market |

AH is a mess but its location... couldnt care less about it, first order of change would be to bump longest time on AH from 2 days to 1 week, this would make it so much easier for ze crafters to actually use this funciton. But again where it is located doesnt really matter as you can get from A to B in at most 5min or insta if you use fleet pass |

Unbiased Complaints About This Game
Reviews & Impressions « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/27/11 10:37:12 AM
the negative remarks in here about SWTOR are completely... true. Like other Bioware games this one is linear, well atleast the amount of missions and planets Ive been at. The auction house is a mess, yes. The cover system is strange since it doesnt seem to matter if you attack a coverd enemy from the back or front. As for the races yes there are way too few for a star wars IP but then again this seems trivial as there are bound to be new ones put in. Also my main is a Sith Warrior and he gets spanked in pvp so there seems to be a bit of a balance issues here (or I just suck I dont know, but I tend to prefer the other way around) Then again these are all issues that can be relativly easily fixxed. The nr 1 with high lvl content, 2-3 with some regular hard work and 4-5 time. |

Let's have it, predictions: launch sales, retention, etc
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/10/11 7:56:19 PM
With a budget that superseeds any computer game previously developed its highly unfair to compare SWTOR to Aoc/FF/War/Rift etc, hell I would not even count it to the first version of WoW. Its better, I played them all beta and some of them retail and I can say this, I have never played such a well polished mmo before (in beta/early stage). Its simply superior. Also to compare it to already released games seem unfair since, well they are at the beginning of their jorney while most of my examples have reached the end of theirs, with WoW being the exception. Back to the numbers, 3-4mil the first month, itl drop to 80-90% of that within 2 months and perhaps down to 70% by the third month were it will stabilize and then grow, by the first expansion in say one and a half year the game will have 5-6mil players and I believe it will continue like that. As for upcoming games sucking away its playerbase, gw2 and the rest wont even dent the game to claim such is just funny. Dont get me wrong Il probably gonna pick it up but cmon just like gw its a non-subscription based product that only mmo-players know anything about, it doesnt have the financial muscles to compete with the big brands. |

well buttom mashing combat, same styled skill trees. Character creation pretty similar etc.. theres a lot but basicly I think it boils down to the buttom mashing combat, thats what pretty much define it but yeah... I like SWToR in many ways. I disliked WoW but hey I can outlive the boring combat simply because of the storyline, crafting, companions etc.
Then again I have no illusions, this pretty much is WoW in space but its also a lot more then WoW ever could hope to accomplish. |

why talk about your problems in here when you could be stocking up jet-cola, snacks and food for the 1 month long swtor-raid. Better get a dousin or two coffiene-pill bottles... once you have that bar the windows, doors and other potential access points and prepare yourself mentally for the gaming ahead... (oh about the gf, unless she can boost your stats I really suggest you choose a different group setup) |

Why have MMORPGs become less social? Is it the design or the players? (Poll)
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/14/11 9:25:44 AM
With the reasoning that the game starts once you hit max lvl youl just rush through the entire game, also the questing nowadays dont really promote group play since you can in most cases do it very easily on your own, grouping/socialising is not a neccesity nowadays. Problem I have with modern mmos are that they are too casaul they feel meaningless, its all about gear/stuff. Previous mmos Ive played it was more about community, sure equipment were nice, loot is great but the guild/corps/clan said more about the player then his/her gear/stats. Also not to mention pre-wow mmos were not really mainstream, it had in the games I played a smaller playerbase so you kinda knew a lot more of the people you played with which made it easier striking up a conversation, now with the zoning system some games utilize thats all but gone. |

I predict around to 2 million boxes sold at launch
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 6/04/11 11:20:50 AM
With a budget so massive like TORs it will be marketed heavily, this results in more sells. To speculate around numbers is hard but Id be very surprised if it reached below 1,5-2mil simply because of the prev upcomers like AoC/WAR (which reached about 1mil), add that its a casual pve game with a very broad spec of potential players, add the IP. Star Wars probably the best selling IP.. ever. Add bioware/Kotor as well as the massive amount of work/cash that has been put into this project. Not to mention the massive marketing campaign... yeah It will be interesting to see how many box sells Bioware gets from TOR, hard to tell but suffice to say no matter if the game is total crap the game will sell gold. Remember this is a game that sort of fuses Single playing gamers with mmo vets, no matter how good it turns out in the end it has the potential to attract a lot more people then currently playing other MMOs. Who knows there may be 2 millions copies sold at launch in the US alone, would not surprise me that much. |
