[Column] General: The Best MMOs of 2013... So Far

Not sure how WoW, Defiance and Rift could get left off of this list.

I bought a Velocity Micro PC in November 2010 from their website. They sell decent rigs at a solid price and assemble them in VA. I've since upgraded the video card and the RAM, not because I had to, but just because I felt like it. It runs pretty much anything I throw at it on max settings.
I'd recommend giving them a look. |

I just realized why sandboxers are so ferverous.

MMOs don't require "skill." Stop kidding yourself.
Edit: Although, I will agree with you, manual transmissions all the way! |

A temporary fun pvp mmorpg to play while waiting for wildstar anyone?
LFGame « General Discussion 5/15/13 4:03:20 PM
Warhammer Online can be fun for a month or two, if you don't mind paying a subscription.
Edit: Also if you're just looking for a filler, Steam has a number of free to play fps games and such you might want to check out. I've tried Blacklight personally, it's not bad at all. That way you can just jump right in and don't have to worry as much about progression, especially if you just want a pvp fix. |

Do you read quest text or just click accept?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/15/13 3:46:26 PM
If its my first play through, yes.
If its a situation where I'm repeating content I've already done while leveling an alt, achievement whoring, etc, then I just click accept. |

Originally posted by Axehilt Pretty much this. Plus the arenas and the ganking/world pvp never get old.
At this point, I've been playing it for so long that even if I take a break here and there, I will probably always come back just to see it through. |

What has caused the literal surge of anti-social gamers?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/13/13 12:01:50 PM
I think it's really pretty simple. The more people who are playing games; the more likely you are to encounter unsavory individuals.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: What MMO do you believe had the best potential but failed in execution?

I'd say Vanguard or Warhammer Online.

[Silly Poll] Where are the WoW players going?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/09/13 1:16:39 PM
LOL @ WOW hate.
To answer the question: I can only speak for myself, but I'm playing a slew of single player games, including Starcraft (finally). |

Yay semantics.

I actually think WoW does a pretty good job of this. You have the option of using the fast travel systems in place, or manually humping it if you like. And actually, for raiding outside of Raid Finder, you have to travel the old fashioned way. Also, for anyone doing the challenge mode 5 man dungeons, they have to hump it as well.

@asmkm22
Agreed. Although they have added several open world raid bosses in Pandaria. |

Do Sandboxes Overwhelm You With Choices?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/08/13 11:35:59 AM
No, although I will say I normally find myself logging in with the intention of doing one thing, and end up actually getting completely side tracked and doing something completely different. That happens in the themeparkiest themeparks as well, though, not just sandboxes.
