There's good eating on a Gnome, make a damn fine soup too. If you're really careful you can have enough left for sandwiches the day after.

Let the good times roll!

If this thread continues, can we at least all try our best and keep it civil. For the record, my faith lies in evolution, and the dinosaurs are very much still with us.

They're called birds.

Birds are dragons?

It's all coming together now.

Exciting isnt it?

You seem like you know your Dinosaur stuff, but if you havn't read up on the more recent evidence on the evolutionary link between birds and the smaller bi-pedal dinosaurs, its well worth a good googling. It's interesting stuff.

When will this thread cover Noah's Ark? I really like that one :)

I play for the community, and I lurk for a very long time before I consider buying, but EQ2 seems very promising. Anymore personal stories of people being awesome?

I stopped playing EQ2 some time back, more due to burn out than the game itself, but I will add this. I played on Runnyeye, one of the EU servers, and found the community excellent, friendly  and welcoming. I'll try to give you an example, it wont fit to you, but it shows the kind of people playing.
My 8 year old son had a character on my account he would play at weekends, any group he joined I would demand he tell them how old he is. We tried a WoW trial at the same time and most times when i asked him to do the same he would very often be kicked from the group or teased until he didnt want to play. In EQ2 he was welcomed, praised and made regular friends who would contact him to group when he came online. These ranged from teens to 40+ adults and all showed kindness and tolerance, he even got invited to a guild on his own merit (he was a damn good little tank :) ) outside of the guild i was already in.

Good People in EQ2, coming in a close second would be CoH who treat him in a similar manner.

Guilt is sooooooooo 1990s, its simple tell your friend the more he cheats the less guilt he will feel, and then all will be fine. I do not see anything wrong with getting your cake and eating it too.

Fortunately no one here cares about your opinion.

You forgot to point out that those who get AND eat their cake on too regular a basis run a very huge risk of choking on it.

Alright alright, calm down Riki. Just one jab for old times sake, eh?

Yeah, I've heard the F me boots concept before. I dated a girl who was into some really freaky stuff, but it wasn't immediately apparent. All was revealed the first time I went over her house to hang out. We were going on pretty well...and then I saw the room. The whole house was normal except for...the room. It was an extra bedroom converted into an...I don't know what. Let's just say there were a few medieval looking devices in there. I asked just exactly what kind of evening she had planned. She told me what she was into, I said I wasn't into it, we stopped dating.

Still friends, though. You don't cut ties with someone that wierd. Wierd friends are just the spice of life.

Hell, more memories.... I knew a similar girl, luckily it was a friend of mine dating her. She had a 'pull up' (chin up?) bar attached to the low ceiling above her bed (attic room with a sloping ceiling). Apparently during the 'act' she only let go of it long enough to occaisonally punch him in the face and swear at him. It wasnt his scene, he didnt see her for very long :)

Speaking of weird, I met an Adult Baby the other week, nice bloke and a damn fine lawyer apparently. His Nanny was very nice too.

well.. um.. wow... thanks, I wasnt aware my posts stood out from some of the more vocal and frequent posters.

Hey Riki, still climbing trees? and how are those nightvision binoculars working out? :)

This thread just reminded me of a girl i used to date many moons ago, she had a pair of thigh-high boots, which she used to refer to as her 'F*ck Me' Boots.

ah, happy times :)

You obviously arent mentally mature enough to be married. You clearly dont love her enough to be married, drunk or not, if you loved her you wouldnt have cheated on her. Im guessing she is a similar age to you, cut her the biggest break of her life and tell her so she can divorce you and get over the rejection and pain. If you have any respect for her and yourself, give her the chance to get on with her life and find someone who can truly commit to her.

If you find any of this in anyway amusing then you truly are a moron.

Think of the cash they would have made by capturing it rather than killing it, that thing would be worth the entrance fee to a zoo alone.

I thought you american guys were all super-capitalists? and one of you goes and shoots a walking gold-mine like this? :P

Well there is a school of thought (longhairs, boffins and such) who believe that heterosexuality is the learned/conditioned behaviour and our natural state lies more with bi-sexuality. Certainly in older cultures such as the Romans, Greeks and Spartans etc it was completely accepted for a husband to have a wife and a young guy concubine, and he would happily sleep with both with no scandal or stigma. In nature too, many animals exhibit bi-sexual behaviour. It's only really in the last 1,000 years or so that heterosexuality has become what is considered 'normal' and any and all deviation from it 'wrong' and religion is most probably the root cause of this.

In truth, I personally am not sure what to make of that, the thought of being in close contact with another guys 'swimsuit area' makes me well... 'GAH!... ew.. no!' etc, but has society just conditioned me to think that way? Its another interesting angle to fit into all this and worth discussion.

Stay Groovy all.

Bill Nighy was probably helped a bit by the technique they used for Davy Jones. He was actually there, acting on set, with a green-suit on. So his eyes were real on film, and everything about the character appeared much more natural. I do love Bill Nighy.

If your a Bill Nighy fan, track down a film called 'Still Crazy' about an aging 70's rock band on the comeback trail. Bill is brilliant in it and sings most of the tracks featured in the film. Its also bloody funny.

If you have seen it, well ignore me :)

Im guessing he is referring to Biowares past catalogue of very awesome RPG's, I see where he is going with this, but it proves nothing until we have some sort of official information/announcement.

I would support a Bioware MMO, whether it be linear + class based or skill + sandbox purely because of the quality of their products. THere isnt a Bioware game that I havnt had great appreciation for. They are one of the very few software developers i truly trust.

So question is, do you still want it to be KOTOR mmo ?

Hell yes, bring it on :)

If only MMO's truly followed current D&D rules, but as posted above they dont.

If they did, we would have much of the freedom many have posted about here. The ability to multiclass, choosing feats from a large pool of skills when you level and a plethora of proficiencies to choose from and progress in.

The restrictions most of you are discussing are due to MMO's taking the most basic aspects of the D&D system and throwing out the massive diversity in character progression that is available in todays systems.

Just my 2cps worth.

Man I came across this on yahoo's web site today. I was drooling at the mouth when I watched this clip of this new Star Wars game. Here is a brief synopsis copied from the actual website from the game:

The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

Here is the official web site: http://www.lucasarts.com/games/theforceunleashed/

If you want to drool too you can watch the video here: http://videogames.yahoo.com/gamepreview?cid=1951462638&tab=previews&page=0&eid=515830

Enjoy!

P.S. Yes I know it won't bring back our old game, but man they way they enhanced the use of the force is just plain AWESOME!!

I made it clicky :)

Assuming this is true....

Shot his first deer at 5?!

It just shows the cultural differences between the US and the UK, as there is no way I would let a 5 year old handle, let alone fire, a loaded weapon. Please tell me that even those of you who condone gun ownership and/or hunting dont find this pretty irresponsible parenting.

A shameless bump for this very excellent thread :)

Bill Hicks sums it all up for me.
