Funny, but while I will admit this game needs improvement in some areas, and expansion in others, I would not say that exploration is one of them.  I would have to say that if you are not finding the goodies you want in exploration, then maybe you just are not exploring that much.  I am constantly finding hidden little goodies all over the place.  Everything from hidden resource nodes to short cuts to datacrons to amazing boss fights and more.

It's funny, but it seems to me that the people that complain about exploration are the same people that either do not like to explore the world OR that expect all the goodies to be on the standard path instead of in out of the way areas.  So far my highest level character is level 37, mostly because I can't stop myself from getting off the standard paths and seeing what else I can find.

You are completely off the path on the discussion.

I don't see anyone saying that exploration in SWTOR isn't rewarding. I only see people saying that exploration is boring because areas are ugly/boring/cages... ;)

I have never really liked PvE servers, but now it feels like I could roll a healer for PvE server ;)

O.o

Wow. What a chickensh*t answer.

They've done a great service for the community. I hope that they won't "fix" it for years.

In WoW there was no reason to explore, but the landscape was so well done that it basically lured players to explore.

In SWTOR, you actually do have a reason to explore, but.....

You are stuck with a lot of small zones, which are supposed to be planets, but certainly don't feel like ones.. It's like a broken puzzle with no way to solve it.

Being creative shouldn't be punishable. I don't see anything wrong with the situation.. only some carebear whiners here and there.

Updates and events coming soon.

Still doesn't solve the cheating/hacking problem (95% of the players).. 1 new content patch won't save the game, it just keeps the current player base happy for a bit longer. Keeping them in also means that new players won't be joining the game because no one wants to play with cheaters.

They should only focus on server security at the moment. No one wants to play a game with a ruined economy.

Do I have wife and kids before GW2 gets released?

So far I see the following differences: 1) you don't have to "take" this quest; the quest is "taken" automatically once you do something counting towards its completion (say, pick a berry, aka click on glowing bush :) ).

2) There is no need to join in groups to achieve the next step: the counter is not based on your personal "quest" counter, but on outside "event" counter; whoever and wherever does something, anything, to further the quest, it counts towards completion.

3) You don't need to "finish" the quest, it is automatically finished and you get your reward, no matter if you are online or offline at that moment.

Those 3 steps more or less sum it up. Anything else is just a hallucination caused by overhype.

Even a million Facebook likes are like a fart in the middle of desert.

Here is my public letter:

Dear NexonEU GMs,

Please ban all modders (95% of the players) and fix your damn server software (disable duping).

Sincerely,

Masa1

There are only a handful of guys using only cosmetic mods. The community conciders things such as map hack (reveals dungeon map) to be "cosmetic", so be prepared to download a lot of mods if you want to stay competitive.

Those destructive mods are the reason why housing was disabled in the first place.

Lots of people are saying how WAR's PvP sucks while listing things that made it bad. Those same guys also believe that GW2 will succeed where WAR failed... Well guess what..? You've been overhyped! You can't really compare unfinished game with the one you've played for a long time.

  • WAR's open world PvP fails because it's Faction vs Faction instead of FvFvF.
  • The Mists prevents 1 side from dominating making PvP fun.
There's no guarantee that FvFvF is any more balanced or fun than FvF... In GW2 you don't have any main opponents.. just 2 servers that'll get switched once every 2 weeks.

  • WAR's open world PvP fails because it doesn't give enough rewards.
  • The Mists gives really great non-cosmetic rewards making PvP worthwhile.
Woah... WRONG. GW2 developers have stated that the best gears (stat wise) are easiliy accessable thus we can't really expect anything which improves your character... and you can whipe your ass with experience rewards once you have max level character.

  • WAR's open world PvP fails because the battle is centered around RvR lakes.
  • The Mists is good because it won't have such problem.
And how do you know that? There will be some "more important" objectives.. There's also a lot of less important objectives, but do you really think that people will spread evenly?

  • WAR's open world PvP fails because it doesn't encourage to PvP.
  • The Mists is good because it won't have such problem.
And how do you know that? The Mists might also have the same problem: It encourages you to do things like capturing mines/lumber mills (probably from NPC guards).

You face the issue of paying for content that you do not care about.  Consider the "traditional MMO" for example:

  1. Raiding
  2. PvP
Those are the typical "endgame" characterisitcs of "traditional MMOs"...no?

Thomas does not Raid.
Richard does not PvP.
Harold does both.

Each is paying $15 a month - yet, they are not participating in the same amount of content.

If Raid content were sold as DLC... Thomas and Harold would buy it.  Richard would pass.
If PvP content were sold as DLC... Richard and Harold would buy it.  Thomas would pass.

If Raid content were sold as DLC... Harold would buy it. Thomas would want to buy it too, but doesn't care about shitty DLCs.  Richard would pass.

---> Harold ends up raiding alone and feels ripped off.

Except that you foprget that HArold isn't alone and that atleast 70% of people bought the DLC thats great vallue for the money

At least 70%?? Where did you rip that number? Out of your ass?

It's more like 10%.

My main message was.. DLCs rip the community apart. The game ends up with scrooges who buy almost everything, then we have some guys who pick only some DLCs.. and then we have guys who buy nothing.

What's the end result? Only a few guys have all same DLCs, in order to play with friends the game basically forces the one with less DLCs to buy more.. or if both are buying DLCs (most likely different ones) it forces both of them to buy the missing DLCs.

From buiseness reports of X-Box games... where top quallity DLC was bought by 70% of the playerbase

Just to remind you: X-box is NOT a PC. Only filthy rich kids are buying consoles and their overpriced (60€+) games. The amount of money they have also affects their habit of spending money on low quality DLCs.

In my opinion they should put their DLCs to a place where the sun doesn't shine.

I don't want to ruin your fun but...

Does this mean that my FPS might get increased from 20 to 60? (owner of quad core processor)

Does this mean that my friend gets his FPS increased from 30 to 60? (powerful dual core processor)

Does this mean that they'll fix all memory leaks which reduce FPS by 5 every ~40 mins.

I guess I was just being ignorant.. It's totally ruined by cheating at the moment.. and GMs are nowhere to be seen, at least not in EU server.

Did you try MabinogiUSA or MabinogiEU? I'm fairly certain that EU server allows UK players in...

The bad news is that I just recently tried the EU server and it's empty. You are going to have a hard time to get anyone to play with you.

Last time I tried it (several years ago, in fact) combat was just... bad. Really, really bad. Based more on luck than anything else. Also, there's something where you need a cash shop item to 'rebirth' your character every so often... like I said before, it's been years. Hopefully someone else with a bit more recent experience/knowledge will reply.

The game is free though. All you'll lose from trying it is time.

Then you didn't even know how to perform combat. Combat relies heavily on skills.

Most noobs make a mistake of using the normal attack.. if enemy is also using it, there's 1/3 chance of enemy striking you, 1/3 of you striking enemy and 1/3 of both striking each other. No one, besides noobs who have played less than 3 days, use it.

You don't need cash shop to rebirth. You can do 1 free rebirth once every 3 weeks.

See? Both of your arguments were caused by ignorance.

He wasn't ignorant, he said it has been years and someone who has played more recently may be able to give more accurate information. Fun fact, most noobs don't read entire posts or miss the meaning.

The part of the combat system I talked about has always been there. Even when the game was in beta. So he is ignorant.

My advice is.. Avoid Iria. Don't start new character there. Iria is probably the only reason why we have guys on this forum saying that Mabinogi is boring / grindish. Yeah.. it has exploration, but it's still a boring area.

Also, do story quests.. Sometimes it might be hard to see what to do next in story quest so you might want to use wiki. If you want to do it without wiki, read everything NPCs say very carefully (+ use your brain).
