It seems to me they had planned on having it the last weekend in April. I am not sure why they feel the need to wait so long to announce these things.

Some of us have to reschedule our days off to get the most playtime. Any idea what time the servers usually go live?

I have been wondering that as well. I like how Virtue even has thier own radio station.

If you mean that I'd pay more then $4 or $5 then no...I simply wouldn't allow it. It's a friggen virtual item. I'd much less quit playing the game then anything. It's already a "free" game (meaning not month to month, one time fee) and since it has near zero MMORPG qualities, I would never confuse it with an MMORPG (as a reason to keep spending cash on it.)

 

 

I've seen F2P players spend over a $1000 dollars routinely every month.  I've also seen a rare few that have dropped over $10,000 in a single month when the promotions and sales were good enough.   It makes me giggle.  Tee Hee

Building a house in your Home Instance you can decorate would be nice. But, I haven't seen anything like that in the 1 or 2 videos I have seen that has footage of the home instance.

I doubt it. One world is just like another. Plus, that would not mesh with the anti-griefing mentality they seem to be fostering. If you want to gank folks while they are picking flowers you can play Aion.

The wiki says that they parted on good terms. Not quite the drama-bomb that could cause problems for a game. I was very interested to see that he ditched NCSoft right before Aion came out. Seems he was smart enough to jump ship on that game.

On topic: This thread should end on the page 3 after BardDaCat's post. E3 isn't for everyone. There are probably a lot of reasons why they're not attending it so I don't see the point in arguing. It's obvious that money plays an important role in this decision, as well as ArenaNet's fan-oriented policy and the fine from 2006 against NCsoft. Why everything has to be only black or white is beyond me..

He means Jeff Strain ,James Phinney and a few others that left ArenaNet to form Undead Labs. He is right in a way but they certainly have plenty to show, just not at E3.

Lol.. that was in 2009. People will use just about anything to make their point I guess. This is the 4th year GW2 is in development and as far as I'm concerned, 4-5 years is what most (polished) MMO's take to make.

And I agree, there is a lot of gameplay footage out there, which backs up everything they said about their progress. Ignoring that is quite foolish.

 Odd. I don't remember seeing Jeff Strain or James Phinney on any of the developer panels I have watched. Guess they weren't quite the "top talent" Madeux claims them to be.
