I decided to wait for 1 more week ( since i am getting paid on a weekly basis) and go for i5 processor. Will update the thread  and  ask You again next friday :P

Windows Licence isnt an issue since i own retail copy i got from my friend that actually works indirectly for MS :)

Looking at my post with links from amazon, is it going to be enough for upcomming mmos like Wildstar and EQN? Dont really care if the setup isnt hi-end. Just looking for stable 40ish fps in mmos of 2013 :)

Hi.

I want to upgrade motherboard and cpu + add ram to it. Have a budget of 200 (250 max) pounds. For now i use GF gtx 550ti card ( might upgrade it later ), core 2 duo e6600, old, half-broken motherboard. Would love to see some examples from you people.

PS.

I am looking for UK-based website dealer that accept paypal. Would appreciate an advise here too.

Regards.

Hi

As i have simmiliar question i rather added my post here instead of creating new thread.

I want to upgrade cpu, mainboard and ram memory ( aiming for 8 gig ) for about 250 quid ( pounds :) ). Any advice would be really helpful.

Thanx

EDIT: Maybe 300 pounds but its max :)

I have to chime in here on this topic!

I currently own TSW and I played the GW2 beta.  Here are my impressions of the GW2 beta:

* Intro is typical and short. -SINGLE PLAYER GAMES

* No voice-acting for sidequests. -SINGLE PLAYER GAMES

* Graphics are really dated. -SUBJECTIVE

* Shadow code is very unoptimized. I got like 20-28fps with "Ultra" shadows turned on. Putting them on "Low" gave me like 20fps more. Ouch. And the shadows aren't that impressive anyway. -SUBJECTIVE (game works very good on my old PC)

* Animation for walking is superb. Definitely better than TSW. Fight animation is too fast and snappy. I much rather prefer the many frames in TSW. I hate the special moves in GW2. They move too fast and it feels like a fighting game.

* Voice-acting is general is a mixed bag. Some quests have good voice-actors, whereas others like the Charr have bad voice-acting.

* The dynamic events aren't emotional enough. They feel truly random and tacked into the game. Everybody just goes and fights at the same time. Feels a LOT like Rift.

* Music is ok.

* UI is really well done and polished.

* Environments look pretty good.

* Quests are the same as any other MMO. Only the game walks you to waypoints to get them. -Simply not true. There are things to do that You have to find by exploring. I'd say that You can find a lot "by an accident" :P

* I dont' like how most people you talk to have the same sentence.

If you are looking for the same old tried and true MMORPG, then go with GW2.  You'll get a little bit of Rift, WoW and a few Tera in there.

If you want a game that's intriguing, best graphics to date (PERIOD), awesome NPCs and quests that you remember, and great PvE[and best singleplayer experience (better than TOR imho)]then go for TSW. -FIXED

-M

Generally, You pointed out things i'd expect from someone talking about some singleplayer rpg game :P

nobody is gonna keep grinding their asses off so they can keep some shops open in a lvl 40 ghost zone

Game hasn't been out that long - so a long time is relative.

It really depends on how the developer adds to the game.

Many of the new ASIAN games coming out are 'grind fests' so what is different about this game?

Fixed it for ya :)

Gee Double-U Two :)

It's probably dependant on wich server you play. I've seen my fair share of Elementalists around, but I see quite some other classes as well. On that note, I seem to lean more towards Warrior, Thief and Guardian myself, rather than an Elementalist.

I'm totally going for Mesmer :)

Here's my thing. I see a lot of swtor in this game. My skeptcism stems from playing the competition.  I just don't know if the high fantasy setting could draw me. It may even be a turn off. It's been beat to death.

Let's say I make it past the high fantasy setting, because it's done so well, so now I'm leveling. There I run into another turn off.  Going from 1-80 just seems pointless. I hate leveling. Eight toons in WoW (high fantasy) Three toons in RIFT (high fantasy), one toon in swtor.  I'm sick of it.

Let's say I make it past the setting and the standard leveling, again because setting is  done so well plus I can level while pvping. 2 Weeks later I'm at cap. I continue to run battle grounds and WvWvW, much like I have been for the past two weeks. I'm having a good time.

One month rolls by since I've been at cap. Wtf am I supposed to do now. I've ran a couple hundred battle groumds, and spent 40 hours in WvWvW. i'm now asking myself "Are you getting bored."" As soon as that happens it's all down hill from there.

I'm not the type to be filling hearts and chasing DEs. I'm not really the questing type, plus I wouldn't be rewarded with anything meaningful for rerunning DEs. No gear, no AA, just pets and cosmetic gear.

I just don't see how this game could be fun (that's what it's about, not progression) for longer than two months tops.

Quit MMO's, GW2 has more to offer then any other MMO, if thats not enough for you to not get bored, you really should try some other games or even try real life.

Or just enjoy the 2 months and move on, with the knowledge that whenever you want you can return to GW2 because there is no sub.

I couldn't have said it better...

He, probably, won't listen to You and , i wish, thats gonna make him leaving TSW afetr 2 months and opening his wallet 4 months later just to check if there are any changes :)

one other great thing, the music, the soundtrack is superb, possibly even better than AOC.  I love the way the music takes dramitc cues when your low on health or sorounded by mobs.  the ingame music you hear on radios.  Oh and the sirens song if anyone did that quest absoloutley supeb.

The siren's song quest was terrific, and I think this is strangely what disappoints me. Sometimes they get it so right. The setting, the genre itself, the engaging main story, and some of the investigation quests are exactly what I hoped to find.

But they were buried in quest system that requires you do do a ton of fedex quest or generic kill x of something, which wouldn't be so bad if the combat weren't so clunky. I like the idea of the skill wheel, but the actual execuition leaves a lot to be desired. I think from a theorycrafting perspective people can dig into this. But in the end you press one button a lot, and the core mechanics don't change as you unlock tiers as most of the interesting synergies come from passives.

If the game didn't have a sub fee, it would be easier to overlook the negatives to enjoy the positives.

yeah but then again you dont need to do every quest..  Dont like puzzles, ignore the investigations, dont like collecting zombi parts, ignore it.  The only mission you Have to do are the main story arcs (like sirens song), there are way more quests than you need to progress to the next zone.  Theres some cool hidden away ones in that open beta, like that idol in the cave which makes a zombie follow you around btw.

the combat, if you're spamming 1 button your doing it wrong.  also bear in mind this open beta was like 2/3rd of the newbie zone.  How exciting is combat in most mmos below say level 10?

Hi Shaky"I love TSW"Mo. I'll track Your future posts and see if u still uber-hyping that game :)

BF3 and real life mostly + downloading wow cata on one of private servers :)

I think the only ppl that will go for a refund are those ones that didnt find the game their thing. Dont quite understand the thread. You mean what? That ppl are so immature and cry-babies that they'll get refund coz its not released as soon as they wished to? Are 8 years olds this poll's target?...

I won't. I am in love with this game (especially pvp) and my attitude is "i'll play it when its released". I dont bite my nails and do voodoo stuff to make it happen any sooner :)

I read your post history.  You love The Secret World.  Great.  I downloaded the beta myself and will be trying it this weekend.   I hope I love it.  It'll give me more MMO options on a daily-play basis.

However, I also noticed you're unremittingly hostile towards GW2 and you're not actually very familiar with the game.

Let me just point out that TSW/GW2 MMOs are not necessarily a zero-sum game when it comes to play...    You can play both and you don't have to try and bash one to support the other.

Like I said, I'm hoping TSW will capture my interest.   I have no problem playing two MMOs.   There have been times, like when I played Fallen Earth I've have two or three MMOs on my plate.   Where I was enjoying them all to one extent or another.  It's not like marriage where you're supposed to limit your activities, as it were, to just your spouse (unless, of course, you're both polyamorous).

Nice post. You are more right than wrong.

Things that i hear that I like about GW2 are things like the size of the game world, it doesn't have 31 point talent trees... and the size of the WvWvW. The artistic qualities of the game world look great too. I think everyone knows these things.

I don't see the point in making another thread saying the samething. I do see a point in asking the tough questions, just like many like to do in the TSW forums :) It tells you a lot about a game when there are good answers to tough questions.

This. But it looks that better way of asking these questions is to actually wait till games are released for 2 months and get answers from players that stayed in for that long. :)

Both games are betas ffs

The irony of the OP.

The irony of the post history.

The irony that a certain game actually has SWTOR in it far more than GW 2.

Y'all reallly want to know what posts he's literally been believing and the ones he hasn't.

Like I said when I envy something I will believe and hope the misinformation is more correct so my love outshines it.

Shit is pathetic, take care and enjoy your lives.

No doubt about it. I'm not shy about saying I will be playing TSW, and that I may buy GW2 to play on the side, something to replace SC2.  There is no secret there.

If you don't ask "What will I do in 2 months?" about your game of choice your doing yourself and the game a disservice. Especially when that game is still in beta. Believe me I've asked myself the same questions about TSW, and yelled when something needed to be heard.

So what will you be doing in TSW in 2 months?

I knew that would be next :) I don't want to derail this thread, so I will just say building. I encourage you to start the same thread in the TSW forums.

Why would I do that? I don't post in sections of games i am not interrested in... Seems You do the opposite :)

I just got my beta key form this website but considering my net is 1 mb/s...... how big is client?

The PVE experience of Guild Wars 2 is the best ever seen in a themepark MMO and one of the main "attractions" of the game is the way they change PVE gaming.....

The PVP experience is awesome as well, I dare say PVE and PVP are two separate games in one game, although that doesn't make GW2 PVE worse.

Well seems its just me then. I treat gw2 pve (regardless if its immersive and well done) as a way to get all traits and skills to get into WvWvW and being a valuable contestant there. Not as something i'll be doing at level cap.

I've read some weird stuff on these forums, but this deserves a special mention at least. Most stupid thing I've read in ages.

Not really dude. By saying this i meant that this game's "endgame" is pvp. PvE is just a journey to 80 and then PvE'er will complain on these forums he has nothing to do anymore (at least till they add more pve content) beside rolling an alt. There is no raids and no gear-grind and it seems that both would suit OP needs more than what is in GW2.
