It was the same shit with TERA, 2 years ago. Then the game looked like finished product, it had it's vision everything was at the right place. When EME started westernization they began to listen to the players and implement. Now the game looks like friggin Frnakenstein. They added a lot of stuff, not bad if you look at one at a time, but together they look like a bunch of stiches and patches that are going to fell apart anytime soon :( And still nobody knows when the game will get released...

I hope they won't make the same mistake with Wildstar.

Looks really crappy. Like poor cousin of 10 years old Anarchy Online...

I dont play them, with one exception. Adventure World is actually quite funny.
But it requires too much time so i'm thinking of dropping it.

It does not change my desire to play this game at all.

After Age of Conan scam, i wont have any desire to buy anything that comes out of Failcom no matter if they have cash shop or not.

good luck on your quest

Pretty much as the title says here. I am looking for a game that when you achieve something, it actually means something.

Try real life. If you achieve something it actually means something.

Intent is to support the game with web site advertising for sponsors.

This is the single reason it is not gonna work.

Hi!
I come here because TERA Online is goign to be shipped with Chronoscrolls system taht is similar to PLEX from EVE.
I wonder how does that system look from players perspective.
Do many peple buy PLEX do many people sell plex?
Did it influence goldfarmers/goldspammers?
Do you think it is serving the game for good or bad rather?
Any other thoughts?

btw. Are there many games with similar solutions? Would love to know their names of you know any.

My guesses are:
It will sell a lot of boxes, and a lot initial subscriptions, then the number of subscription will go drastically down in 2-3 months. There will be enough subscriptions to fund the operations, but not even close to what investors are expecting. That will lead us to the game going to pay2win (free 2 play) to milk hardcore fans(? does something like hardcore fans that even exist among today's kids - it seems their attention span is extremely short).

I love starwars but original trilogy. The new trilogy was disappointing, then clone wars tv serie was pathetic. It is still good animation and it stands out from moronic crappy present time made cartoons for kids, but i'm adult now and i have different expectations. It seems that the game is leaning more to that style then to what i loved in original saga. (no i'm not messing this game with the other kids mmo based on clone wars).

I don't like the graphics, animation is so damn stiff, and the combat looks so painstakingly dull. After trying some games with free targeting seems that chances i will ever again like a game with old fashioned tab targetting are pretty slim.

We have two "country" factions, Mexico, and the United states.  For sake of ease, we can claim that everybody would belong to one of those two factions.
We have the INS Faction that is wholly a part of the US faction.
We have a number of different Cartel factions.  These are mainly Mexican factions, but also include US faction members as well.  The Cartel Factions are at war with each other, but in the event of a US-Mexico war, might side with mexico and join together against US.
There are also Corporate Factions that span both sides.

Why would you need MMORPGs for? Seems you are quite busy already with all those factions of yours :)

But to het to the point. Player dirven "factions" seems like the perfect solution. It gets simple and complicated at the same time. Hopefuly TERA will do it fine with it's politival system.

With Mr Park, founder of BHS leaving the company the future does not look bright for TERA :(

GW2 i'm gonna buy, SWTOR... probably i ll buy, but doubt i ll subscribe.

Funny. i rediscovered the game few weeks ago. I finished factions in which i got stuck before at second to last mission, and nightfall, where i got bored in the middle of campaign.

Now working on on building my hall of monuments.

The game is still amazing! Graphics is not dated and beautifull and i'm having lots of fun.

btw. What is best place to trade in game?

Rift down?

There are some probems with network infrastructure. Guildwars is not reachable neither.
It may vary depending on where you try to connect from.

edit: they are back :)

I wouldn't call you paranoid. I wouldn't call you careless neither :)

please let me ask something, i havent read all 10 pages cause i dont have the time but i have a question..

Do i remember correctly that in D2 you could hack items? with some trainers? if in D3 the items are not server side i think those trainers will be available again so the cheaters can create items and sell them... anyway do i miss something? i m sure for those trainers i just dont remember if you could have those items in battle.net...
someone enlight me.

In d2 you could cheat items in offline, and open battle net games.
In closed battle net you was not able to make fake items, except bugging some of them. You could however clone items (duping)

But those kind of hacks wont work with D3. Items are all server side, and they learned a lot with D2 - so in WOW there was no way for duping/hacking items - so they have know how and will use it in D3.

@skeaser:
That would solve your giant budget deficit, so there is good side to that. You should not complain, you should be happy :)

When i read the title i was outraged.

Then when i read the whole "article" i think it is a brilliant idea.

There was a market for in game items for d2, and some shady individuals were monetizing on it, but it was unsafe and generated a lot of scam. Now it will be regulated some, and will be much safer for gamers. They will take control on something they were not able to fight in previous games. It's a win both for Blizzard and gamers.

Also when each player will be able to buy and sell, the prices will become reasonable, with so many people wanting to sell stuff for real money, they will undercut to the point farming is not profitable.

You still can play without using RMT.

All you crying out loud here, i bet you will all buy d3 anyway when it gets released. See you in d3 :)

AoC was alaways worth playing and paying for playing, i'm yet to understand how the fact of it going F2P will make it any better as a game ;)

It;s not f2p that makes the change, it's the new ruleset.

Richard, you had some good texts here, but this one is not one of them. This is the most unprofessional and biased post and totaly farfetched i ever seen by mmorpg editors.I do not like f2p games, really. Sad part it is something we won't escape that. F2P and freemium models are so attractive to game companies there won't be P2P games made soon :( So stop crying - it will be your way in a couple of years anyway, and we will be left with nothing to play...
