In Vanilla, how long did it take you to reach max level?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 12/05/12 10:16:48 PM
if i remember correctly, that last few levels, like from 55 on wards, took like 2-3 days just to level, all from questing. i think it took me around a month~ |

Originally posted by Hancakes I was actually playing it few months backs, met a group of couple who supported the game since day 1, i joined their tribe, settled somewhere in the center of the map~ one day i decided to travel, to see the world, so i took, no sh*t, 2-3 hours, climbing across mountains, every now and then i had to find water to drink and fishing to eat, before i reached green mist, i thought no one could be here, then i saw a hut, and there was a dude scavenging and lumberjacking.. damn, i was thrilled to see ppl. there was no detail map guides me, i just walk to where there's possible route, and i saw lot of crazy structure at lot of random places.. i was lost, but i kept on going.. so it took me 2-3 hours get to point B, and took me another 2-3 hours to get back to the camp, but obviously i lost again, dont even know where's my tribe, only thing tells me is the grid numbers. this games has a very nice exploring feels to it. i really liked it. but again, lack of pve content droves me insane, but i liked the game. |

sorry i do not play gw1. no shame of hiding it. u cant expect every customer need to do all these research to play a game tbh. u like ur game, i respect u. but do i really have to know everything about this game from the beginning? maybe i am really wrong, maybe if i do play gw1 i will know why world works, and the reason they release the map with half of them blocked. this thread already went on wrong focual point. and i dont wanna fight about it.

Originally posted by Ambros123 well i havent play wow for long time, so i definitely miss some place, but if u check the quick map i did, mount hyjaal, AQ, Gilneas city, and ghostland were there in vanillae, but unaccessable. and out of those 4, mountain hjaal can be reached by climbing the mountain. and other u are just dunno is going on there, blue dot is just wtf at the time. of course, there's things like ferelas dragon portal, same as ashenvale, time carven at the time bla bla bla, they are in game, but i dont feel like they hide it away. at least they expose it, and let u imagine what's behind those walls. but in gw 2, they just there on maps, most of the time it's just behind mountaind and mountains, there's no visual link and leave u no room to imagine. but then again, we are comparing product at the different age. u probably dont agree with me at all with what i've said, like what i stated, this is just me. i am not saying wow is better, this isnt about wow anyway, i am just saying, mmo these days, are relasing games like this, with half open map, and claim other half content is for furture expansion, is very annoying. the fact is i felt this is unfinished, and this is lazy. when u wann release something, finishe them first. and release some future expanion with new land or something. and c'mon man, do u really believe the longer then time they spent to develope the game is equal to the quality of the game? look at d3. if u look at classic games, super mario, contra, ff, secret of mana, chrono trigger, half life, cs, doom, BG, uo, they dont need 5 years dev time? since when does voice acting, cinematic, gfx, physix took so huge part in the game? |

dragon age has same huge world map? but the fact in DAO they honest about it and only shows ferelden area, cos that's only playble area. but now they dont even use this map for daa or da2 :/ they just let this map go rot. if they release gw 2 and have entire world of gw map on. that would disappointment me more. again, i still prefer idea of - show mw what i can play only, dont show me "promises" until it about to come true. release those map when its about to get release then i will be happy.

guys~ c'mon~ stop focus on word "they lie" = = my main discussion point is: should they release the game, by: smaller world map, but all u see is all u can play. or huge map, but u can only play half of them? i just dont like how mmos these days present u something so large, so grand, so massive at initial stage, but tells u that, nope, cant go there, but u can go there, and that's part is not done, gotta wait for another 5months. but in the mean time, those are what u can play. i prefer they release something that's smaller, but we cna play them all. and wait for surprise in future. if u look at picture below, one feels like half finished game, one feels complete. ye, sure, this might not even be a issue to u, but to me it is. in single player rpg u dont get this nonsense. fine. in old mmo, do UO do this to us? do lineage do this to us? heck, even in xyson i got all hundred of blocks i can go. c'mon now guys, only lazy new mmo do this to us, they need to release game quickly in order to ger funding, so they release games which isnt fully complete and tell u the rest is for future content. maybe status of GW 2 is really complete, and rest is really future content, sho, but i surely dont feel happy about it.

damn, u guys need to calm down, chill mate~ maybe u guys took it the wrong way. or maybe i didnt explained well. what i am saying it, if u look at http://www.guildhead.com/map. ok cool, u see what? half detailed map, half unknown map. the first few day when i saw this, i told myself, maybe it's just that not enough ppl upload datas, so there's no info yet. but then i realised that, those areas are not accessible atm, of course i was kinda upset, and thinking, ok? so this is unfinished game or what? how long do i have to wait? and all i was saying is that, maybe anet should plan the release, like release a circle of area, everything in that circle is accessible, then expan the dircle , and expand again. rather then, release entire huge world map with empty blocks in bwteen, and start filling in gaps at later stage. so chill.

is the actual content that wasnt released but appears in map. means, when i open the world map, the world is huge. but, the actual relased/playable map is only about like what? 60-70% of entire world map? of course u only find out that u cant really go to those "locked"/"unleased" area cos it's only comes in future expansion. they are just there now on map, to confuses u! :/ i am very unhappy about it.. design and relase the game, dont play those kind of tricks :/ when wow opens, there's 2 huge lands, only zone that closed at like what? silithus and the world of tree map, every expansion they add new lands, and open up old maps in the old land. i would be pissed off if vanilla wow released with outland, notrthland, pandaland shown but locked. pls release the game content that we can see and can play, dont play silly trick like this and make us think " wow, there's so much more to come". i rather wait for suprise and see anet release something like "we add on another 30% of maps for you to play" in their website. |

Originally posted by grafh some of posters are just pure asian mmo haters, they hate for no reason, simply it's asian made. their passion for hating asian mmo is greater than their passion for enjoying games. anyway. i agree that archage, eso, lineage 3 and titan are next big things, but i am looking forward to ff14 realm reborn and blade & soul.

Originally posted by thunderC sorry man, this sounds very much like wow quest giver just without "!" on top of their head, and no need to return quest. the different is that in gw2 DE, everyone can participate and get their own reward, and in wow u dont. |

young ppl these days use iphone and ipad, they dont go out play dragon and warrior. they sit at home playing pc games rather then building castle in the garden.

i think this game is all about quality rather than period of gameplay.

so yeah, no question, most of us enjoyed this game very much, although i aint really the hardcore fan like most of u ppl here, Gw2 proved itself at any aspects it's a top tier game, even though there's room to improve, but it nailed every points nicely. however, this is how i feel. this game worth $60 for the content it provides, every penny of it, but, it would probably last me 1-2 months as far as i can see. repeat it again, it's just for me, my feeling, i probably wont play it after i explore entire map, and done all main DE (fight bosses) in every map if there's one. i dont think i will lvl all classes, cos i am just type of player that find lvling alt is wasting of time, since i can exp most of contents on my main. what i ultimately looks for is that sense of exploring.. what i thought GW2 would be is the world with randomized coding.. imagine how cool would it be if there's always different boss/mobs/DE .. i just hope when i went to same location, there will be different mini boss inside, then boss use different patterns/set of skills etc. that what i was looking for, that would motivates me to visit same cave, same fields everytime. this isnt bashing or anything, it's top quality game, probably best mmo exp in the last few years, i had fun, even though it's just going to be 1-2month of it.

there's lot of ppl that hasnt reach 80 and is already bored. and stop assuming that those ppl dont know how to "play" the game. everyone has their way of playing the game how they wanted. i played the game, i enjoyed, but again, i am just not motivated to keep on going, only thing that driving me is to visit all vistas. i spent 40hr and only lvl37, i loved DE, but they just felt identicals, it's either defend, attack, esocrt, picking up items, fighting mini boss.. for all 4 maps i been through. all like that. i did heart quests, gosh.. crafting is fun though. i liked it. jumping puzzle is great, especially the one in lions arch, i ejoyed that. brilliant ideas. personal quest just like single player's quest, i actually enjoyed it, as human noble, knowing my parent died, and i actually visited that tomb before i did the personal story, that time i did wondered, who;s tombs are those. i guess i like traditional storying tell quest, some quest are actually scripted nicely. remember love and family quest in wow? and that little girl in eastern plagueland? i wish i can see those in gw2. i loved the world design, city, it's beautiful, but that's only reason left for me to stay behind.. hoping everything will be better? i havent has chance to do pvp yet.. cos que is just ridiculous, if wvw is any good as vanilla av in wow, i guess i would hand around longer.

Is the World as big as they make it out to be?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/05/12 12:04:57 AM
i dunno about gw1, but i think u are very misinformed? as far as i know,u dont craft ship.. and sail it for a week... but i do think the world is big, if u decide to run around by foot. and i agree, the cities are grand, best, sexiest i ever seen. rata sum is mind fking. |

i am lvl35, played 4 maps so far. ye.. i am just starting to "doubt" about this game.. last night i logged on but only played for 30min, then logged off, i need some motivations.. before i totally burnt out of the game, at least i want to visit all places that was shown in some gw2 artworks.
