Not too late to start but too late to get the most out of GW2.
I bought GW2 when it was released, played a few classes and stopped because of other stuff I had to do (my main was level ~60). I came back for the winter events and stopped again.
A few days ago I thought it's time to get my main to level 80 and I'm having fun BUT boy those level 50-70 zones are empty! I tried a few servers but it's always the same. You have to do all the dynamic events on your own and you hardly see anyone running around... that's a bit frustrating to be honest. Especially if you can't do the boss fights.

On PC you can choose between EU and US

I'm currently downloading the game but I can't decide what server I should play on. Normally I would say EU, since I'm from Europe, but I'm not sure if there are enough players. With the TV series and advertising only targeting the US and the potential that the TV series will keep players hooked to the game etc.

Can anyone help me here?

I just installed the game again and I thought you get cartel coins if you previously subscribed to the game? I had at least a 60 days subscription after the game was released but didn't get anything. It says 0 Cartel Points.

Love it. Keeps the game fresh. I wan't nice fights and good XP for exploring and doing the events in lower level zones.

I rated it 9/10. Except for the first day login issues (25th) I had not one single problem. And I play waaay too much!

Your pre-purchase key is your final and only key, it means you already bought the game and there's nothing more that you have to do.

 

They just posted on Twitter that people who pre-purchased and pre-ordered need to pick up the retail key to continue playing after 2/5 days. I thought the pre-purchase key converts to a retail key?

I have a Phenom II X4 955 BE and it runs fine with mid to high settings (always above 45 frames) but I can't max it. I hope they'll fix it eventually (if there is really a difference to Intel). Gfx card is a MSI 6870 Hawk.

I got up to level 3 in the betas to not spoil anything.I didn't like it very much. Couldn't decide on a class, hated the Super Mario Puzzles.
I played every class to level 5 after the head start and still didn't like it, somehow.
After turning the WoW/Old School MMO switch off in my head I'm having a blast now. Can't decide between my Guardian and my Thief. I switch from one to the other because it's just fun. I don't have the urge to play just because the subscription is running. This is a HUGE factor for me. I have the epic MMO experience and don't feel the need to rush. That alone makes GW2 awesome! And the vistas are incredible.

I'm in the same boat. I can't seem to find a class that I like. It's probably the combat system. I'm totally underwhelmed. I'm trying to like that game but somehow, I can't... :/

The main problem is that you have only 5 skills per weapon. For example My lvl 5 guardian has all greatsword skills unlocked. And I'll use those same 5 skills for the next 75 levels if I use the GS.

I just asked because you got two keys if you ordered Swtor (beta and retail). (yeah I know that Swtor was pre-order and not pre-purchase). Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, I think they are blocking some legit retailers too...The 'buy from our authorized retailers' is BS btw! There are many many more legal retailers worldwide!

Would be really interesting to know what kind of keys they are blocking. Stolen? As I said before, you can't just generate a number and it magically works...

"fraudulent code" lol, how is this even possible? I thought the keys are unique? They should be. It's not that you can get a keygen for MMOs...
And where do people buy their keys from? Can you tell shops that sell those 'fraudulent codes'?

Yep, questing is fun, the world is great and the atmosphere is awesome! But I just don't like the combat. If I'm trying to avoid as many enemies as I possibly can, something is wrong. I have my rotation etc. but it just doesn't feel fluid enough.
