Because I am not going to write about a game I wasn't interested in and didn't play. I got to experience some of the game in beta, but it just didn't get me hooked to the game and, ultimately, I didn't want to spend money on it when I had other games I wanted to buy (I'm poor :s). I'm not saying the game was bad. I'm just saying it wasn't my cup of tea. And I don't really agree with doing a report that analyzes games and you include games you have very little experience with ^.^

On that note, that's why you all should leave comments! If you think TSW had great cutscenes, you're obviously welcome to comment. Heck, I want to go back and give the game another chance now just to see for myself again @_@ lol

When are they going to stop letting this person make articles and videos? She is a terrible writer, and her videos are super boring and lame. What happened to people like Coyote who were good. I actually visit this site less and less because they keep giving her more and more articles and videos to post.

Then stop reading and watching them. Pretty simple.

It's a good thing all my viewers are strapped to their computer chairs and forced to read this article. Actually, wait, no they are not :P

If you think about it, I mean take like 10 seconds to think deeper than surface value for once, you'll see that I'm talking about how there is no missing component in games. At least not any one missing component, but after a game releases and people begin to assess why they "fail", they always try to look for what it is missing ("oh, it's not f2p", "oh questing sucks", "oh themepark"). They always sum it up to one or two major things, which may be the case, but they are usually missing the nail completely (rather than hitting it on the head ~.^).

Perhaps maybe I am trying to make a comment on that. Just perhaps. I just made cats the missing component, because I like cats... and they are missing. So I blame that.

I'll remove your thinking cap now.

Wouldn't it be better if she just educated people how to REALLY approach a girl (and many don't know that) instead of making fun of people all while screaming "Look how many creeps want to get into my pants!"?

This wasn't meant to be a dating article. I used satire to get across the rediculousness of the way a lot of people behave on the internet and the fact that they think this behave is okay simply because of anonymity. It's not okay to hate on someone for their race or gender in real life, so why do we tolerate it on the internet?

I find that writing a nice article filled with fairies, sparkles, and sunshine sauce would have completely ruined the point. The point isn't a nice one, it is a negative one. It is one that I feel needs to be changed. Not for me, but for all women. Go to ANY female's youtube channel and check out some of her comments. She's bound to get crap just for being a female.

Then what will you do when those same internet fools won't even give you the time of day?

Thank you for proving my point ~.^

As I pointed out earlier. She does seem to have a high opinion of herself which sems to blind her to the fact that the quoted lines she uses from user comments about her do not actually reflect a desire to be with her. I don't really think the angle of complaining about how bad it must be for her to be geting all this unwanted male attention is a good way to go when without looking at usernames I would be tempted to believe that some of these comments may have been posted by other women given how the also seem consistent with how women tear each other down.

I am not willing to share the emails and private messages I have received from people because it is far too embarassing (for them). As much as I don't agree with how they behave on the internet I'm just not willing to humiliate someone like that when a simple block/ignore usually takes care of it.

I posted pictures that were relevant to the more open and aggressive types. Anyone can find these comments on youtube. Not just on my videos, but on other games. In fact, the first picture isn't even on my video. It's on hers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz-8vy03a8U

BUT....do you still think you'd have a column on mmorpg Pokket if you weren't a female gamer, or people would watch your videos/twitch channel. You're internet (success??) is mostly attributable to the 'lack of' between your legs, use of eyeshadow and being not unnatractive, without that you would be an unknown face in the sea of male video game commentators. Yet you write articles like this lambasting those males who help put you where you are.

Bite, hand and feeds spring to mind...

I write an article "lambasting" males that behave like this because it is incorrect to relate my "success" on the "lack of" in between my legs. Unlike yourself, others take this one step further and actually hate on women like me for being female.

So I am left to conclude that because I am female, that is the only reason I am successful. So basically I should feel ashamed because of my gender... something that I cannot control. Something I was born as. Should I feel ashamed and wish I were male? That way at least my "success" would be "real".

You are sadly mistaken. I am successful for many other reasons beyond being a female. If you can't look past my gender, then you'll never see this, but despite people like you it really hasn't stopped me in my tracks or slowed me down. I stream, write columns, record, edit, and upload gameplay videos, guides, and vlogs, go to game conventions and interview developers, can have a real discussion about games (sometimes to the point of argument lol), and I even worked in the industry as QA for over a year.

I don't show off my "goods" and I don't make reference to my gender ever being a bonus. Women like me have the problem of everyone pre-judging them based on their gender. Automatically discrediting them and linking their "success" to the fact that they have boobs (even if they aren't ones to EVER take advantage of their assets - and yes there are plenty of girls out there like that).

Guys just have a different problem: there are more to compete with so it is harder to get noticed.

I'm sorry, but men like you just sound bitter.

Meanwhile she's streaming the complete opposite of this article on her twitch stream showcasing she doesn't play like this at all.

I haven't played this game in almost a year lol and I, as well as a few friends, PUGged LFR (PUGs are actually what this article is about). I just wanted to get some gear and get back into the swing of things. Today was the first day I've healed heroic dungeons and raids on my Disc Priest in a very, very long time.

If only I were Chuck Norris... then I could have hopped right into heroic raid modes with no gear and just done a single roundhouse kick to kill all the bosses at once.

If only...

I also started gaming with UO, EQ and AC and I do not, in any way believe that a 12 year old could have played UO under the conditions of that game.  You don't have the intellect, thought processes, coordination or even the wisdom/experience at 12 to stay alive long enough to chop wood.  Fanboy's may dream about following some young girl gamer, but keep it real.  Even your knowledge of WoW is limited. You seem to have no idea what raiding was like before dungeon finders were added to some games and thus the dumbing down of content so uncoordinated groups could get their loot.  Just be honest, tell us what you know and really experienced.  Maybe an action screenshot would help prove you were there, then again I suppose you can get those anywhere.  After you've finished an article/blog, maybe a spell and grammar check might be an idea too.

I'm not exactly sure what you were trying to achieve by posting a semi-spiteful reply full of false accusations, generalizations, and  shameless self-promotion, but I don't think it is a good way to gain more credibility ~.^

I did post a screenshot. The UO screenshot in this column is mine (my character is in a black robe, on a charger, right below the name "Liverpool" - which is the name of the beetle). Plus, I have uploaded screenshots of UO in my profile. And, actually, I've put together a nice little gallery of a few old screenshots from games I have played over the years http://imgur.com/a/WrVZv.

I find it disappointing that you're so quick to judge a fellow gamer based on their age and gender... especially considering you're the same gender. I've played games with plenty of gamers that were under 18 and, while some were mediocre at games, there were quite a few that were actually pretty good, if not better, than myself and others. The great thing about teenagers gaming is they have more time to learn the game than most adults do... therefore, they have more time to get better at it, get more gear, level faster, etc.

Perhaps next time before you falsely accuse a fellow gamer of lying or not being "real", you should take the time to follow or get to know the person, see what they are like, check out their other sites. If you're too lazy to do that, then perhaps you just shouldn't say anything at all.

Ok, I'm sure this will get deleted like the last bits of criticism from her other articles - some "writers" can't take critism,  but here goes.

 * Lay off the cliche' approach. This was a very predictble and nothing here grabbed the reader. It has nostalgic value for old UO players, but the writing itself is stale, relies on a "story arc" that is -entirely- predictable and not very witty.

* Learn what paragraph and sentence structure are and use it. Your paragraphs are far too long and ramble about several subjects at once. They need to be broken into much more coherent form - state subject of paragraph - write sentences directly related TO that subject - start a new paragraph for the next subject.

* The diary approach is not the best method of writing if you can't pull it off well and with originality. You're doing neither here. Try something else.

* Stop trying so hard to be "cute" in your writing.  It comes across as ditzy and even arrogant via Snooki style.

* Take some writing lessons. READ a book. If you want to write well you need to read more than game review articles. Expand your vocabulary. Stop relying on your looks and "cute" factor to get you a paycheck- it doesn't work in the real writing world.

I have a BA in Language, Literature, and Writing with an emphasis on Creative Writing. One of the many things I have learned over the years is that writing styles vary significantly from work to work and author to author.

If you want something to read that defies grammar and stretches the limit of the "story arc" then try Cormac McCarthy's book Child of God. This is the same author that wrote All the Pretty Horses, No Country For Old Men, The Road, and more (I name these because they've been turned into movies and are well known).

The way you described writing sounds more textbook and analytical. There's nothing wrong with that style, but I am not going for that at all. This isn't a research paper. I don't expect everyone to like the way I write and what I write about. Perhaps this just isn't for you =)

There is absolutely no need to bring up my looks, or make accusations in regards to them, when attempting to justify your opinions.

I don't normally reply to comments that borderline insult me, but I felt there were a lot of assumptions and fallacies in your "feedback" that it wouldn't hurt to set straight. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, even an extremely negative one, and I am certainly entitled to not take it into consideration.

PS - I'd like to clarify that I have never deleted nor modified replies on my columns and videos. I do not have those privs. It may be a good idea, before you go and criticize someone about their lack of knowledge and education, to do a little research of your own ~.^

On a side note , whats this i hear you played past age of shadows? FOR SHAME. Here catch....Cor por   Cor por

In Vas Mani - Vas Ort Flam - In Nox - Cor Por

Age of Shadows wasn't too bad IMO. I enjoyed Samurai Empire, as well. After all... I was a dismount archer tamer. I had spirit speak, archery, taming, animal lore, Busido, Resist Spells, etc... I had such a weird skill set. Most of which weren't maxed, but I faired extremely well.

I can buy that an older male in the house was playing and you picked up on it. Not to sound sexist but not a lot of 12 yr old girls played computer games back then. It was hard enough to get them to play Nintendo.

Well then my family was just strange :D

Almost everyone in my generation is female... and all of us play video games (and played them back then). It was definitely due to the fathers' influence. UO was just my first online game. I played console games before that (mainly on playstation and nintendo).

Pokket was right around 10 or 11 when Ultima Online was released. 13 or 14 by the time the game was ruined.

I always admire someone who started gaming at such an early age.

Yup! I was 12 when I started playing with my uncle and dad. They still had "power hour" in the game and I'd go to Humility Shrine to train my disarm thief and lumberjack on the rotting corpses.

I got about a year or two in before they "ruined it". I bounced back and forth between the main servers and [mod edit] That server was a lot of fun. Not going to lie, I still liked UO even after Age of Shadows :s I played up to Kingdom Reborn.

"Pokket, keep writing :)

I just hope you still don't work at Walmart - do you?"

No, I moved on from working at WalMart just before I graduated college =) I work in the game industry now.

As for others: This is part 2 of last week's column. I will likely just keep continuing the column each week. I was building the backstory of the character, letting you see who the character is and what their life is, as well. That being said, I am still taking feedback into consideration.

Thanks for those who offered constructive criticism =)

I think the Water Monster was even scarier then the zombie because you could at least see the zombie.

Great stream.

The water monster was pretty darn scary because I had no idea what was going on at first lol But then I went into the... [SPOILERS]...

... the blood mist filled room and when I found I couldn't outrun the zombies I nearly had a panic attack @_@ lol Amnesia is a lot of fun.

I will likely be changing videos up from time to time... Delving into games I never imagined playing... but thanks to my stream's chatroom I am now going to be playing :3

Probably go dressed as a ninja zombie elf princess monkey (because I am one).

Funny thing is... everything was off of the top of my head ~.^ Absolutely nothing was written down or typed. I was told before that I sounded scripted, so I stopped using scripts. Oh well, can't please everyone. But moving on...

Here is a highlight from my stream where I am playing on the PTS server with a lowbie toon (didn't have my 50 on it yet): http://www.twitch.tv/pokket/b/312663652

The first Warzone in the highlight is, of course, the new warzone. I played on the PTS multiple days, including today on my 50, and plan on playing on it some more.

Man Bioware just really doesn't get PvP at all. This is liek Alderaan 2.0. Real PvP happens in the open world, in designated PvP areas. DAoC at least got it right. WAR had a great idea but just poorly implemented it. By the time Bioware gets it, it's going to be too late. Guild Wars 2 can't come soon enough.

You can't really compare the PvP that UO, DAoC, and WAR had to what SWTOR and WoW have. They are, technically, completely different things. If you don't like instanced PvP, then it's obvious that games like SWTOR and WoW probably aren't for you. I LOVE the PvP in Ultima Online, but I can still really enjoy the PvP SWTOR has to offer.

And while this map is similar to Alderaan, you'll find that the strats people use are different, plus there is no "wow we lost unless we 3cap" threshold that you'll meet in this map. Capturing 2 points and holding can enable a great comback. Honestly, I like both the maps, but I have to admit I probably like this one more.
