What a horrible example of metal.

If Dragonforce is the only metal band you base your entire observations on, then I suppose it'd be in your best interest to remove your head from your ass.

People enjoy metal because that's just what they like. I like going to metal concerts because I have an opportunity to be around more than maybe the usual 3-10 people who also enjoy metal, as well as the opportunity to mosh (what is considered the metal dancing) if I want.  If I am riding or just sitting somewhere I can still enjoy metal just because that's my taste.  One fact you do need to realize is that "skill" in music is entirely opinionated.  (Unless bands do actually suck, and could be recognized by a wide, diversified, group for their ability to, well, suck.)

Among all of the bands that I listen to, my favorites, Symphony X and Hammerfall, produce amazing metal, and they are still producing amazing metal.  (Granted that Hammerfall has kinda shifted from their old sound which is a downer.)

I think it's just poor packing, it wouldn't be the first time I've had to rip a game and run the disc files from my hard drive.

I also heard that you can't save somewhere in the game, but I'm not sure on specifics.

There's already a thread pertaining to buddy keys, Vanguard currently does not have a free try.

Also, Vanguard has a lower population than both EverQuest and EverQuest II.

I'm surprised at the positive response, I tried to do something nice like this and was flamed fairly horribly for it.

In an effort to stay on topic- I'm also available for US winbacks (trials companies give past subscribers in an effort to earn more money).

Just be lucky that you're able to get in without any crashing problems before you even log in.  I've been at this since 3 PM it's 9:33 PM now.

Is it possible to use Thunderbird/Outlook Express to receive/send mail through my mmorpg.com account?

If so, please reply with server addresses so that I may set it up.

Thanks for your input, Vanillatea.

I'm not really into a lot of strategy games, especially not very many RTS.  It's the ability to swap around my character's jobs to change different needs and playstyles, that's what keeps me into those games.

I'll definitely look into getting it, and I'll pick up the trial disc next time I remember to :)

I'm sure those of you who actively post here get a lot of these.

I'm a little skeptic about FFXI, I've yet to try it and I've had mixed reactions from people.  I've heard "It's great," "Amazing," and "Fun."  At the same time I've heard "Boring," "Waste of time," and "Wouldn't recommend it."  I'm not asking for an opinion, but more or less if you think I would like it.  Personally, I love almost every Final Fantasy game pumped out, and I could reminisce all day with you about them.  My two favorites are 3 and 5, as well as the Tactics series.  I think I love these because of the ability to mold your own characters and play strategies, which I think might be important in FFXI.  What I'm worried about is that I won't be able to see past the in-depth character system and only be able to see the large grind ahead. What counter-acts this thought is the fact that I've beaten Tactics at least 5 times, advance twice(once completing everything and such), and I've just recently beaten advance 2.  Based on that, what do you, the FFXI MMORPG.com community, think that I would think of this game?

Yeah, any of you guys have a key you'd wanna share?  I might have a key or two to something else if you're interested in exchanging.

I'm tempted to pick up the -trial- CD, but I usually forget when I'm out and about.

I'm glad that they did this, because of the trial, I am able to try before I buy.  I'm impressed with what I did in the first day and I believe I'm going to buy this game before too long.

I'm pretty sure this is just the same incident that happened about two years ago... If not, they were probably related.

It wasn't WoW, at least not last time, it was some RTS.

In a recent e-mail from the Perpetual developers, they announced that all Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising core testers would be involved in picking out the the next batch of beta testers.  I, myself, am a core tester and I am willing to send out keys, when I get them, to the MMORPG.com community.  If you're interested in testing Gods and Heroes, send me a PM and I will give you a key when I have them to give out.  Please only message me if you are indeed a serious tester and will give feedback and report bugs.

Please keep in mind that I only receive a key once I send out a key to someone and they make an account using the key I was given to give to someone.

A relatively off-topic note, anyone care to explain why these pre-CU fanboys continuously troll the SWG topics because they can't get enough crying in action for something that's not coming back?  Perhaps looking at a "Steps of Grievance" chart could help you guys.

I'm really not even sure why anyone even posts a reply to this. It's just a statement announcing that SOE has fallen behind again in their promises and attempts to keep everyone on their accounts.

On an on-topic note; I think that the house pack-up(not blow-up) is a great idea, anyone who's played recently among the thousands of new players and re-activated veterans has no doubt stepped outside Coronet, anywhere on Naboo, Bestine, or Mos Eisley, has undoubtedly noticed the handfuls of (Abandoned) houses and other structures.  It's hard to place a Mustafarian bunker or large house/guildhall these days because everyone is too proud to hunker down and take a slice of humble pie.

PS:  I'd really employ everyone that HASN'T played in the past few months and continues to COMPLAIN about changes to shut up and log in their characters and play for a while before making powerful judgments and accusations.

I played a trial maybe 10 months back, there seemed to be at least a moderate stable community.  I lost interest (regardless of how much I liked it). I'd say you won't see THAT many people in starting areas, but maybe a handful, and in main hubs you'll see a pretty good amount.

All four of those questions invoke completely opinionated answers, I hope you're ready to do some deliberating.

I can probably guess the most fun melee would be Ninja, most damaging, Samurai, end-game, probably really boring, and a Tarutaru melee class would most likely be really gimp.

I don't imagine anybody has a buddy key for US servers? I was going to play in the beta but I was too tied up in moving (which also prevented me from playing even if I wanted to at the time). I regret the choice with all of the screenshots I've seen, it looks pretty nice.  So, if you have a spare US buddy key, if you would please, send one in a PM or directly to my e-mail at lightleafsyn@aim.com

This thread is just asking for flames..... So here's one.... Veteran players will not come back not because SOE are supposedly bringing the old features back, but because they have been lied to, cheated out of their money and had all their progress taken away from them with no compensation for the time that they spent getting that progress. The reason I say they, is because I spent most of my time roleplaying and socializing in pre-cu SWG so I did not feel the full brunt of the patches that were introduced, but for all that, I had the community I really liked taken away from me and I had friends there that I now probably will never meet online again because I didn't have a chance to get their contacts out of game, the loss of the pre-cu SWG wasn't just a nerf, it was an entire community an entire several years worth of development and gameplay.

If you're honestly looking for compensation, you should look at the SOE EULA, and realize "Hey, this is a game, my compensation was the time I spent playing the game."  I can understand your loss, but do not blame it on the NGE, some people quit because they get bored of the same thing, which is why I left SWG even before the CU, hell, I never even PLAYED the CU, I dropped some skills to take up master doc and just logged off one day and didn't come back until NGE and found I was level 69, I was pissed, sure, but I got over it and kept playing. (But this was after a heated argument with a CSR).  I don't even see why they have to be as blind as to not put up "Classic" servers, which would essentially triple their current monthly income.  But hey, they want to make a dumb decision such as that,  so let them have their way and find something else to play.

After hearing of the pet incubator announcement, I've already decided to re-activate my SWG account.

The game is great, pre-CU and post. The NGE isn't as bad as nearly everyone seems to portray it as. Yes, it sucked, lots, and lots, of balls back when they first did the update, however, it has gone major changes that have been beneficial.  There is one (and yes, only one) problem that I have with the gameplay, and that is the major grindfest it is to get to level 90.  Yeah, sure, the Kashyyyk and Mustafar quests help a lot, but only so far.  The "expertise" system (which is really a talent system only you get points every few levels) is a great feature, mainly because it made PvP much, much more fun.

To all of you incessant nay-sayers, if you're really that upbeat about having a game changed to something (and I say this at risk) better than it was before, go organize your posse and picket outside various SOE offices. Personally, I think you're just too lazy to participate in the combat instead of spamming various abilities.  The loss of the incredible class tree system is yes, a sad one, but it was for the better.  They most likely have intentions of changing the classes around to more fit the old system.  You also have to realize that by knocking down all of the classes to only a handful, they also combined certain classes.

And so, yeah, that's my rant.

I hope to see more of you guys in-game!
