Nexon should be losing money, but their large playerbase and free to play really drew a lot in. Vindictus actually will probably never make as much as MapleStory, the Cash Shop isn't very good as of yet.

Mabinogi has had a lot of revenue, but MapleStory is hands-down the biggest moneymaker. I have only given $10 to Nexon, and I am proud of my lack of money spent in comparison to so many players.

The best example I can think of out of this is Mabinogi. Obviously, it covers all of these areas, but there are - as always, a few flaws, and it's completely free (item shop). I personally do play it myself, so of course I would recommend it. 

Free To Play, I believe is still rising up the charts in the MMORPG world, while Subscribers are well, staying the same. I guess that just means we're getting an influx of new players?

I can see what you were thinking when you said "how these apply to MMORPGs." A lot of things I see in real life apply to MMORPGS. I'm surprised at your wasting time on looking at quotes to go into MMORPGs.

As the title suggests, I'm not really a fan of the MMO area. I know, this is MMORPG.com, but I am seriously searching for a single player RPG - free. I really like storyline, and extra features for price is alright, just make sure it's not too overloaded with specs, because my computer was $300 last year, so it has no gaming specifications. That's basically it. Do tell if you need more information. :]

One thing that Big Bang has done for me is lag - especially on the three new worlds, mainly in towns. I'm fine everywhere except for the main town map. I did reinstall it after big bang, so I don't see what's wrong. My friends are experiencing it to, so beware.

What I believe attracts people to play MapleStory is the simplicity, but complexity.

They firstly grab the player with the free to play, which dragged me in, but at the time, there were quite a few people at the school already playing it, which was essentially why I started to play.

Secondly, the simplicity allows you to start and make friends very easily.

Thirdly, the game is very social. There's seriously no need to level. :P You can talk with friends all day, Nexon doesn't care. There are a lot of social people on it, and I think these people pull you back. The community has definitely matured over time, and I must say, I am proud.

Vindictus is the prequel. I just had to clear that up.

Yes, Mabinogi is constantly updated. We just got our thirteenth Generation in nearly three years.

Each server, surprisingly, on Mabinogi, with it's low amount has many players. Though, I have some doubts about two. Alexina has a ton of lag due to neglecting by Nexon, but has supposedly been fixed with Generation 13 (you'll figure out what this is soon enough. It basically means - major update). Mari is full of the most players, so that might mean overwhelming levels. This is why I suggest Tarlach or Ruairi when you start playing.
