After playing the beta 6 event I am hyped. Ever since my guild and I left DAOC years ago, we have been searching for the next DAOC type of combat system. Which most all agree that played is by far the best. Why this is not exact it is the closest thing to DAOC we have come across. It seems to me Trion took aspects of many different mmo's and combined them to make Rift. The PvP seems to be a mix between DAOC and Guild Wars. The combat machanics seem to be a mix between DAOC, LOTRO, and a few others. There are many different ways to level. Such as Questing, Grinding, Raids, Rifts, PVP. Dispite a few saying the world is small, it is accutually quite large. At level 20 I was still running around in the first Zone of almost a dozen and I still had plenty to do in that zone. There is a lot of depth to this game. The rift invasions are the closest thing to DAOC rvr I have come across. I never tryed out the crafting in game. I was having too much fun. After the beta ended I pre-ordered. The main flaw I had was not with the game, but with the WOW players coming in and trying to bash the game and the people that were playing it. I am sure a month after launch their wont be so much of that happening. There will still be some, becouse this game will pull several players from WOW and many of the others. |
