I think the GAME will be fantastic.

I think the game's GRAPHICS are f'd up.

A lot of the music in the early stages of the game ( Which were the only stages I ever got to ) really reminded me of the wonderfully disappointing television program "Firefly".

Which I still consider to be my favorite television show eeeeeeeeeVER.

Yes, and I was specifically referring to the MMO combat footage, which can also be seen in SW:TORs other dev videos.  I realize its only my opinion, but the combat as of now just looks terrible.  Cheesy, wimpy, clunky.  That said, it's still in development, and I realize it could get much better.  I'm just not sure that it will.

 

Anyway, the environment artists are doing a heck of a job, and Taris looks fantastic.

Its typical Bioware Combat. Its going to be precisely the same as Dragon Age's.

Just like Star Wars Galaxies.... SWTOR developers aren't going to have to spend a SINGLE DOLLAR on music. Because they'll just take from the Six feature films.

You know, if you enjoy whats in EVE now. I'm really happy for you. But why do you have to take something that someone else wants/likes and try to make them feel bad for it? What do you get out of that? Its really sad.

If you really were a fan of EVE Online, then you'd be happy... nay THRILLED, that something was being developed for the game to help it grow to yet a larger audience, subsequently strengthening the game's longevity into the distant future.

Where's the EVE Space Staiton expansion that promised players the chance to not "only be a spaceship" anymore and let players have actual characters to walk around a station with and do various Social Gaming.

I get the impression that this Tyranis is merely a orbital spacey version of Sim City. Which is fine... But what happened to the space station thing?

To me, footsteps sounds would be the literal first-step in sound production in my MMO.

And Everquest II nailed theirs.  The only MMO I've played that ADDED sound effects to your movement based on the Armor you're wearing.

Heavy Plate Armor... you could hear it on your avatar.

Leather Armor also... too badass.

I'd have to say that Age of Conan has been my favorite game for Sound and Music in MMOs. The one place it fails in this regard, is that the NPCs don't talk, which bothers me a lot. The NPCs you attack don't even say anything to you as they attack, very bothersome. The rest is fantastic however.

And I'd have to say that Lord of the Rings Online is the absolute worst MMO I've played for Sound and Music.  From how every staircase in the game has the sound effect of running on Sand, to so many of the lakes and rivers making absolutely no sound what so ever when you're standing directly beside them. Rushing water that makes no noise at all? What the hell?

And LOTRO's music? Holy crap, welcome back to the mid 90s... complete garbage.

Sound is a vastly important thing to me. Most games do "alright", but its really rare to get one that is actually impressive.

Age of Conan.

To me -- AoC took all the conventions of the average MMORPG and put them in a very well realized world.  Rarely do games based on major IPs get honored well.. (I.E. SWG - Ewok Love Festivals. LOTRO - Hobbits roaming the entire world of Middle Earth).  But, I feel that Funcom brought to life R E Howard's world in an extremely faithful way and I personally really enjoy it.

AoC's tumultuous past means little to me, its current incarnation and the future post-Godslayer.... only seems bright and beautiful.

Its a good game and my favorite MMORPG.

AoC would have been friggin awesome if it was an openworld game without instances.

Get your hands on the expansion when it comes out. Its a much more massive Open World experience.

I can't wait for the expansion pack. Soon as it comes out, I'm back in and ready to go for AoC again. If only they'd add an Outfit / Appearance System to the game now too. I'd be seriously happy with it then.

Oh man, I was laughing something fierce when I saw that THIS GUY was the one doing this announcement for Funcom.

I've never seen a game dude get more nerdrage hate than him.  Which is sad, cause he seems alright to me. Not his fault that AoC wasn't ready for launch and he was forced to talk good about it.  All game companies do that, he's just the one that got caught doing it.

Ah man I love the atmosphere of this game's world.

Everything that leaks about this game makes me want it more.

I can't wait to see what our characters are going to look like. I hope its not an Armor Based game and has some sort of Outfit system in it instead.

I wish people would stop comparing everything Funcom makes to Age of Conan, Funcom's been around awhile and they've made a lot of games other than Age of Conan that are absolutely nothing like AoC.

And Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

Those games were absolutely positively entirely and completely NOTHING like AoC and a hell of a lot more like the atmospheres being setup here for the Secret World.

I'm hoping for a better combat system n this game than the MMO standard, though. Zombies aren't fun if we're forced to click colored blocks on a hotbar 82 times to kill a single zombie.

We'll see, I guess.
